  1. With a completely different Oregon team it doesn't matter what happened between Arizona & Oregon last season. One point of comparison: Stanford 70 Oregon 63 Stanford 81 Arizona 54 @ Arizona
  2. This is key. As the title of the article says, this will be a new opportunity. Avalos left, this isn't a change for change sake, it has to be done. Hopefully the players will embrace the ideas the new DC brings, and carry them out enthusiastically.
  3. I would argue that right now the, "qualified" teams are far too limited, you know who they are before the season starts. The 5 conference winners would be qualified to play for the championship. The expanded playoff won't turn the CFP in to March Madness, there won't be a 16 against a 1.
  4. So many ideas, and all of them would be better than what is in place now, which is nothing more than an ESPN production starring the teams whose conferences have deals with them...they'll let Ohio State & Oklahoma drop in.
  5. You know, I was fine with that too. The BCS was formed to to clean things up, to avoid controversy. The controversy would be a whole lot better than what we have now, when the championship is down to 4 teams, out of maybe the 8 that have a chance before the season even starts.
  6. I really like this idea, and one step that could, and should be taken, is to get rid of the championship game by getting rid of the divisions, there are no need for either. Set up schedule requirements between all conferences, and the team with the best record will advance to the Playoff. This expanded playoff, consisting of the 5 Conference champions, and 3 at large to be decided on the field, not by a committee. All the teams would, "Be In" one loss wouldn't eliminate their chances, players would want to play in the bowl game instead of opting out.
  7. Soon, Cristobal won't be able to prevent the offense, unless he simply doesn't want to score. The WR corps that Oregon will have in 2021 is unlike any the team has ever had. Getting the RB's up to the same level is still a work in progress, but they will come.
  8. The head coach wouldn't let the OC run the offense the way he wanted to. Sound familiar?
  9. The Ducks’ junior guard, Taylor Mikesell, has been a strong competitor since day one.
  10. These, "Way Too Early Polls" are all about perception, What level of recognition a team has built is what gets them in a poll like this. ESPN, in this case, believes that Oregon will have a competitive team, their past success shows that.
  11. Bow Down, and stay, Washington! What a great tweet. The arrogance in Washington has devolved in to white noise as their programs become irrelevant. That Oregon has supplanted them, not only in the Pac-12, but nationally, and Washington never had a National Brand, makes it all the more unbearable for them.
  12. Justin Herbert’s rise to prominence in the football world feels like a sports movie script:
  13. That's it. The SEC has 3 or 4 top teams too, but they get in the Playoffs and win championships. The B1G is pretty much Ohio State, ACC is Clemson & Notre Dame. The Big 12 & Pac-12 need to win Playoff games to be taken seriously.
  14. Arnett took the defensive coordinator position on Mike Leach's staff in Starkville last winter, after previously accepting the same position at Syracuse, but only working for the Orange for 11 days.
  15. Great post! I was trying to remember Antonio Gates.
  16. Jordan (Kent) began playing football when he was a junior in college at the University of Oregon. While at the University of Oregon, Jordan also played Basketball and ran Track for the Oregon Ducks. And now he does play-play for the Blazers.
  17. Altman said it wasn't related to COVID-19 as the team tested him twice and both tests came back negative.
