  1. What Oregon had, for so many years, was unheard of. Coaches with 20-30 years. So, the "revolving door" is something we are having to get used to. But, it is the way it works in college football, Oregon included now.
  2. As the saying goes, you can't coach speed, but a coach can certainly use it to their advantage, look at what Alabama did with their Heisman award winning WR, USC this season.
  3. He was so much fun to watch with the Ducks as he launched his high arcing 3's in to the basket.
  4. It should be Justin, with the fantastic season he had, that it was unsuspected, should mean even more. Young, with Washington, and Taylor with Indianapolis are in the playoffs, Washington getting there with a 7-9 record. Neither had a season even close to Justin's individually.
  5. Great to see all those Ducks in the Playoffs, look for Justin to be there next season.
  6. Colorado is good at home. Since they joined the conference in 2011-12, the Buffaloes are 65-19 at home, in conference games, 77.4%, not bad. However, not as good as the Ducks have been in that time, 70-13, 84.3%.
  7. You actually nailed it, and what is missing. Not only is Pritchard gone, Richardson isn't there either. Duarte, and Omoruyi are putting up points, but those are not coming through the offense as they would with the experienced point guard, that neither Terry or Hardy are, running it.
  8. It's very strange. The Final 4 team couldn't beat the Buffs in Colorado. Duarte did end up with a great stat line, better than he averaged when he was named Player of the Week, for his performance against Cal & Stanford last week. Yet, Duarte and his teammates were ineffective again, unable to play their game. Oregon always looks tired when they play in Colorado. The offense isn't crisp, too much standing around. On defense, the pressure was effective at times. But too often, Buffaloes found clear paths to the basket. The streak is now at 10. Two more and it will match what the football team did to the Huskies.
  9. Fortunately, one thing Mario has done very well is hire new, and really good, additions to his staff. We saw a while ago that there are a lot of coaches for Mario to look at, and he might be somebody tat nobody knows. The Ducks did well with a guy from New Hampshire nobody knew.
  10. It looks like Mario is going to need to hire a new Defensive Coordinator, as Avalos is going back to where he played to now become the head coach.
  11. Well, Oregon drops its second game in a row, this time losing to #1, Stanford, 70-63, The third quarter was the black hole for the Ducks in this one, go into half, up by one, start the 4th quarter, down 13. Erin Boley's foul trouble hurt, play making and experience were gone with her on the bench. But some great play from Maddie Scheer and Sydney Parrish, kept the Ducks going, as well as from Te-Hina PaoPao. Get those Cal Bears on Sunday, Ducks!
  12. The Ducks face a tough challenge as they go up against Stanford, on the heels of their tough loss against UCLA. this is what happens when you're in, have won 3 times in a row, the toughest conference in the country.
  13. In the first game of Wild card weekend, as the Colts go to Buffalo, 10:00 PST, on CBS.
  14. Very good, Mario, now get some great QB's & RB's to do their stuff behind those guys!
  15. Hopefully, Justin won't have to be as good at this in the coming seasons.
  16. It's very hard to defend the Pac-12 for anything, but saying that it manipulated the schedules to give advantage to Oregon & USC, is right out of Washington's pity bag. By the way, an obvious manipulation of schedules was the one that didn't have Washington playing a road game until they were to play the Ducks, in Autzen. Of course, they ended up not able to play that game. Wilner didn't mention that.
  17. Very true. This season is all about evaluation, not definitive conclusions.
  18. With all due respect to. CJ, Travis & CHB, none of them are the level of running backs that championship teams have. Dollars hasn't shown he is either, but has shown a skill set different from mainstays. The quarterback position is wide open, Shough will have the advantage of experience, limited as it is. If he can come into the spring with a positive attitude, set on being the obvious #1, it would be a huge benefit to the team.
  19. The big problem is that Mario really doesn't think there is a problem. His response after any loss is that it hurt and that the team, the players, the coaches, will work even harder to make sure it doesn't happen again. Never has he given any indication that any adjustments are necessary. With the recruiting success, it will get harder for it not to get better. Mario wants to succeed. He wants to make Oregon the Alabama of the West. Will he take a look at what Alabama has become? The Tide averaged 50 a game this season, their WR won the Heisman, the QB was 3rd, its RB was 5th. That isn't "prevent offense." It's going to be fascinating to watch what happens next season.
  20. If ever anything can be a sure thing, Justin being named, ROTY, should be.
  21. This is really getting boring. Every game the Ducks play in Boulder against the Buffs looks the same. Colorado looks like a final four team, and Oregon looks like anything but #17. They had an 11-0 run in the middle of the first half. But of course it didn't last, the Buffs had the lead at halftime, and put the game away in the first 5 minutes. As ICamel said, every time it looked like the Ducks would get back in, they'd go on another run. Not that it made any difference in the game, it certainly made it worse that the female announcer sounded like she was a student at Colorado.
  22. This is definitely true, and what you said about winning streaks is definitely in play here. The Ducks have a 3 game winning streak going against Stanford, including a 40 point blowout, in their place. This game isn't really at "their" p[lace, but it's clearly a road game for Oregon. It's easy to say that there is a lot more pressure on Stanford in this one. They're #1, they're the experienced team. It isn't that the Ducks have nothing to lose, they certainly aren't going in with that attitude, But, every minute this game goes on, and the Ducks are close, Stanford is going to be the team sweating.
  23. But maybe Pac-12 champion Oregon—which lost a few top defenders, along with Sewell—would've had a better record and a stronger case for a College Football Playoff berth. I'm sure not going to argue with this.
  24. So far, under Dana Altman the Ducks had a lot of success, regular season championships, conference tournament wins, a Final Four appearance. But the one thing they haven't done is beat the Buffaloes in Colorado. They get another chance today, at 2:00 on FoxSport1.
  25. The Ducks are definitely primed to beat the Cardinal. They had a bad game against UCLA, and still almost won. I don't think they liked it, there's a bitter taste in their mouths. I'm sure they respect Stanford, but there's no intimidation.
