  1. Ducks go after their second conference win, get the record even at 2-2 with a win over the Buffs
  2. Cool, I've appreciated Soares' game as well, and Bittle has had great plays at both ends of the court every game. With each game, he and the other players are forming that cohesion that Altman's teams count on,
  3. A new Coach, a new OC, a new DC, a new QB? Yeah, but according to Brad Sheppard Bleacher Report, the Ducks are a team to watch. Ranking the Top 10 Contenders for the CFB Playoffs in 2022
  4. It isn't just recently that the Bowl Games have lost their shine. Back in 2013, DeAnthony Thomas and Josh Huff were less than thrilled about playing in the Rose Bowl Analysis: Expanded CFP Gives More Players Reward Worth Risk Ralph D. Russo AP News
  5. Coach Lanning, to borrow a term, lose the Prevent Offense. If there's still time on the clock, more points can be scored. Pro style, spread, under center, shotgun, points can be had. A great, dominating defense, in concert with an offense that never stops is what wins championships. The WR's showed what they can do in the 2nd half against Oklahoma, the RB's are ready as well, and there's a room full of QB's set to compete for the starter role. All that behind an OL that is primed. By now you've heard how loud Autzen can be, but you won't fully appreciate it until you're on the sideline while it's happening. And it will if you open it up.
  6. The trouble is that the SEC knows how to work the system. Alabama is so much better than anybody else it's ridiculous. But, LSU, Florida, Auburn have won championships recently enough, and A;abama fell asleep and A & M beat them this season, Not only do they have the 8 game schedule, they also make sure that Alabama and Auburn always play, and Georgia & Florida, But the top teams don't play each other all the time, so the top 5 or 6 teams will be highly ranked all season. So, I don't know if it's a mirage so much as a well constructed plan to monopolize the sport.
  7. Yes they are, that lightning bolt in the middle of the field was a good indication! More drama for next week in Las Vegas.
  8. The game was reminiscent of the games we're used to see from Altman's teams. It was close for a while, then all of a sudden the Ducks turned on the intensity on defense and what was a 4 point game turned into a 10 point lead.
  9. Chargers take the opening drive for a touchdown. Unfortunately, that puts the Chargers defense on the field.
  10. Be great to see another Duck flying around in the NFL!
  11. Okay, according to the article, both the Ravens and the Dolphins needed to lose at least one more game this season. Both did, the Ravens in the last seconds to the Rams, while the Dolphins got blown out by the Titans. Now the Chargers have to end their season with a win at Denver today, and a season ending home game win against the Raiders.
  12. You addressed the problem, Oregon's President Schill at least is showing an awareness of athletics at the U of O, which in a way is good, as he could be aware of the problem's we've been discussing concerning the Pac-12's place in the football world. It could be that the President's at the Pac-12 schools are like a lot of the western US population and not as interested in college sports, maybe football in particular, as the rest of the country is. This bolsters my thought of Oregon needing to align itself with a more sports driven conference.
  13. It's bad in Huskyville: You assume we are trying to compete in CFP. Not much I have seen that convinces me that we're trying to keep pace with Oregon, and now USC, and then a response, Perhaps, but those Montana Grizz better watch out!
  14. It would have been, but that loss to 4-11 Houston was bad! Chargers Playoff Chances: How Los Angeles can Clinch AFC Wild- Card Berth in 2021NFL Playoffs Jacob Camenker Sporting News
  15. Sometime in the distant past now there was actual thought of putting a dome on Autzen. But since, "it never rains in Autzen Stadium" that idea was scuttled. Attendance was increased but, I don't see the NFL coming to Oregon, where yes, 70,000 seats would be expected to be filled for games 8 times a week, in addition to the Ducks and Beavers games?
  16. Brenden Rice, 6'2, 204, former 4 star recruit had a great game against the Ducks last season, 5 catches, 102 yards, 1 touchdown. Now he's leaving Colorado. WR Brenden Rice Should Be One of Oregon Ducks' Top Targets in Transfer Portal Ducks Wire Zachary Neel
  17. During his introduction speech Lanning talked about how happy he was to be here at Oregon, that it was his dream job, that it was the premiere job in the nation. In a vacuum, Oregon has it all. No.1 facilities, a devoted fanbase, a generous donor, and an administration that wants to win. Lanning saw all this when he left his coveted position as DC at Georgia. So far, as detailed in topics here, he's come out of the gate full speed. He's already shown an ability to communicate with current players and recruits. We'll see what he does in game situations. The 2022 season is a tough one, it would be hard for me to call it 10-2 or bust with a seasoned coach in charge, let alone with so much new as this Oregon team will have. But I will be shocked if I see a team, that even when it wins, is boring. I'm not getting that from Lanning at all. It might have just been me, but Helfrich always looked uncomfortable in the chair he sat in for post- game interviews. I expect that Lanning will look like it was made for him.
  18. Y This and then the Pac-12 can be what Bill Walton says all the time, Conference of Champions!"
  19. It took a while, but Will Richardson finally had a game you expected from a pre-season 1st Team selection; 26 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, Jacob Young, 22 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists. How it happened: Oregon Ducks Pick Up First Conference Win With 79-66 Defeat Over Utah Zachary Neel Ducks Wire
  20. Right, but Clemson had a run of 5 consecutive CFP appearances, winning 2 Championships. As a conference the Pac-12 hasn't come close to that. Because of the ACC's Network's affiliation with ESPN, it's sounder financially, but a joke competitively., though the ACC might have won at least 1 Bowl game this season.
  21. It would be great if Oregon State could get to a place where the Pac-12 5, ORE, USC, OSU, Utah,UCLA could compete like Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Wisconsin do.
  22. UCLA could be good, but it was USC, then it was Oregon and Stanford. One year, Washington got to the CFP. Can the Pac-12 get to where it has 4.5 teams with legitimate shots at the CFP regularly?
  23. You're right. Utah is solid, bring em along with the Ducks and Trojans.
