It could be that the President's at the Pac-12 schools are like a lot of the western US population and not as interested in college sports, maybe football in particular, as the rest of the country is. This bolsters my thought of Oregon needing to align itself with a more sports driven conference.

During his introduction speech Lanning talked about how happy he was to be here at Oregon, that it was his dream job, that it was the premiere job in the nation. In a vacuum, Oregon has it all.
