Ohio State's regular season, losses to Oregon and Michigan, didn't matter at all. Think they care? Penn State lost the CCG to Oregon and was rewarded with a much easier path in the Playoffs, tripped anyway. Now the championship game will be a match-up of a team that didn't qualify for its conference championship and a team that doesn't have a conference.

Bigger DB's would definitely help. In a Bowl game especially, a rough start can be really devastating. Not playing for 3 weeks, then having your first game against a team that that demolished their opponent a week earlier is a recipe for what happened in the Rose Bowl.

Ohio State can't beat Oregon straight-up, they need a warm-up, home game first. The Buckeyes will probably wrap up this favorable format Playoff with the championship. Way to go #8.
