  1. Coach Fickell praised his defense for their impressive performance, particularly their pressure on Gabriel. “Our defense did a great job today—tackling, limiting big plays, and creating edge pressure,” Fickell noted. While Wisconsin’s defense kept them competitive, Fickell acknowledged their inability to close out the game in the fourth quarter, an ongoing issue that left them vulnerable to Oregon’s late-game tactics.
  2. Congrats to Dilly, Kansas, a basketball school has been decent at football for the first time since Gale Sayers was there & somebody has to win the Big 12.
  3. Don't know if it was by design. But I absolutely think the Ducks should defer and score on the opening possession of Q3 against the Huskies.
  4. I don't think it would be a punishment.
  5. Atticus Sappington, was a Beaver, now Always a Duck!
  6. “The Big 10 refs save Oregon with one of the worst chop block calls you are ever going to see,” @mattbegreatyt wrote. “Cost Wisconsin a 1st down and gives Oregon great field position.” After the controversial flag, Wisconsin had two more chances to drive and either tie the game or take the lead. Instead, the Oregon defense stood tall, forcing a turnover on downs and an interception to ice the game.
  7. Or because that will be the only top 25, 2nd with a winning record, let alone top 5, team Indiana will have played this season.
  8. Good point, though they did win. This weekend, at Ohio State, will be the first Top 25 team Indiana will play this season.
  9. Oregon's own, Jeff Tedford.
  10. Way back, the two Polls picked the Champ. That was replaced with the BCS, which gave us Miami vs Nebraska in 2001. Next, we got to have it decided on the field, with a committee, and the SEC Invitational, where the Champ didn't even have to play in their Conference's championship game. Now the Committee is tasked with picking 12 teams, and the criteria we can discern is that in the morning they see which teams won, without taking into account who they've played.
  11. I don't know what they're looking for. I really don't,” Smart said. “I wish they could really define the criteria. I wish they could do the eyeball test where they come down here and look at the people we're playing against and look at them. You can't see that stuff on TV, and so I don't know what they look for. But that's for somebody else to decide. I'm worried about our team.” There was an obvious argument that Georgia could and should have been ranked higher despite having two losses. The quality of those losses combined with a pair of very impressive wins by the Bulldogs this season made it pretty clear that they deserved a top 10 spot, and Smart pointed that out on Saturday night as well. “They're not in that environment,” Smart said. “They're not at Ole Miss in that environment, playing against that defense, which is top five in the country with one of the best pass rushers in the country, and they're fired up. They got a two-score lead, and they're coming every play. They don't know. They don't understand that.” Dale Zanine-Imagn Images
  12. Here's some more: The USC of the north! We are well-aware of his faults, having beat them 3 straight times. Gotta love how their fans labeled him a genius because he got a 12 men on the field penalty in exchange for running about 4 seconds off of the clock in a game earlier.
  13. A shout-out to Or-e-Gawn, Wisconsin, good morning!
  14. So true, and I expect that Oregon will be the unanimous No.1 again.
  15. Yep, Colorado is definitely much improved from last year, as well as the start of this season and are that team that nobody wants to play.
  16. Thanks, Jordan, this one was ugly, add it to the nightmare list that Wisconsin is compiling with games against Oregon. It was the game that OBD lost before, and that weren't supposed to win, now that they're in the B1G. But win they did. How many times have the Ducks lost because the kicker missed a field goal? Last year's Beaver, now Always a Duck, Atticus Sappington was 3-3. Gabriel pulled a little Mahomes out on Wisky when he was running down the sideline, looked like he was heading out of bounds, but didn't and zipped past them for some more. Maybe should have let Sapp make it 4-4, but the Ducks D took care of business, and now the Ducks finally get a rest.
  17. I don't know, but I think that being on NBC has been great for the Ducks. Those 3 games have been the most exciting and impressive of the year. I don't know if shutting out Purdue was exciting or impressive. Winning in the Big House? Been there, done that. Maryland was a frustrating 21 point win. NBC's been great.
  18. The Takeaway from the Purple Pup People up North is that Phil Knight just won another one, and Gabriel's pants were too short.
  19. So, the Ducks have clenched it, right?
  20. Hopefully the Ducks go 1 game better.
  21. It could, but in this game for sure, I think Tez was really missing. I just don't think the offense goes stagnant with him on the field,
  22. This is what No.1 teams do. I didn't think they would lose, more importantly the Ducks didn't think they would. The offense wasn't working and a lot of credit for that has to go to Wisconsin. Scoring in the 3rd quarter is really good sometimes. Matayo was the star of the game.
  23. Nebraska-USC pregame crowd is all the ammo Trojans need to fire Lincoln Riley FANSIDED.COM Once again, Jennifer Cohen did not hire Lincoln Riley. Mike Bohn did, and he no longer works at USC. As his third year leading the...
