  1. My FishDuck Friends, this is an experiment because usually you get all these in a ton of articles...and now you will see the quotes right here! On Jordan James’ performance… “We make a lot of those decisions going into the game based on situations and I think a lot of the situations you saw Jordan in were on fourth-and-shorts. He’s a big back that runs physical and is able to get tough yards, and we had some tough yard situations today where Jordan was able to go have some success.” Do you have any injury updates… “Byron (Cardwell) was day-to-day throughout practice this past week and he tested himself wanting to be able to push on Thursday, he’s a warrior wanting to go to work. Came out wanting to go through warm-ups and I think it was still lingering, you could see he still wasn’t kind of 100%, didn’t want to jeopardize his health. In that situation if we ask Bryon to, I promise you he would’ve and that is a great example of his character and what he is willing to do for this team. With that being said, we don’t want to put our guys in a position where they are not going to be healthy. Really the same thing for Justin (Flowe), if we had to push Justin and he was able to go through warm-ups today, he could’ve definitely contributed for us today and helped us. With that being said, the next guy up in both those situations, those guys prepare really hard, they earn their moments in practice, you earn the right to go play football with the way you practice and the next guy up in both those positions did a really good job. Seven [McGee] was able to go for us at times but we were in a lot of personnel groups that didn’t always put him on the field, and i think his unselfishness is a great example of Seven saying, ‘I don't care how we do it, I just want to win the game.’” Bucky Irving
  2. Oregon wins 41-20, and Mudslide predicts 42-21, nails the point spread and almost the precise score and tells us to call him "Sunshine." Well good on you mate!
  3. That was the million pundits who don't know much about Oregon slapping their forehead. How many are eating crow right now? Can I cook that egg on your face for you?
  4. So much to talk about on offense! Good grief...did you see the I-Formation early in the game and used often? We had a Tight-End, Patrick Herbert No. 88 as the fullback and we made great yardage on it. Whew! Haven't seen that since the days of Mike Bellotti--wow! Bummer about the Pistol, but we used it effectively... I will have my defensive analyses every other Thursday, but the one from this week--"Setting the Edge" sure was timely with all the examples in this game!
  5. My friends, let's start new threads and discuss in the main forum area. Great discussion!
  6. From Log Haulin UGA up 45-0 through 3 q's. Eleven quarters of football Dawgs have surrendered 3 points. Insane!! I said it immediately after Ducks got throttled by Georgia. Dawgs will do the same thing to most that they did to the Ducks. I will go one further, Georgia just might do to everyone what they did to Oregon. B2B and possibly the best football team in CFB history. Go Ducks! Go Dawgs!
  7. Apparently some Cougar fans were not pleased with this article, as discussed on a BYU board. But we are here to serve Oregon fans first! BYU Fans trying to make headway with us...

  9. This is bizarre. With all the jobs out there that would be TONS easier to recruit to--Meyer goes there? He is already wealthy, so I assume he is taking on the ultimate challenge. Proving to all he is still a great coach?
  10. Awesome Alan, as I did not know the story of the "Y" and always wondered. Not a feel-good ending!
  11. Hello My OBD FishDuck Forum Friends! What is your prediction versus BYU? Take your shot and let's have fun with it... Lets get these predictions started and remember I look for the spread with then the closest score that has the spread correct. I need all the data from you! Entries without all the information are invalid, and predictions on other threads don't count as I am not going to hunt them all down. I am no longer going to PM three or four people who don't read directions each week. Please follow directions, as I need all that is below for tiebreakers: --the winner --the score --the amount of turnovers Oregon creates --the number of sacks Oregon records on the opposing team --the number of passing yards by the Ducks. My prediction is: Oregon 37-24, 2, 3, 287

  13. I have been studying quite a bit of Georgia defense while Dan Lanning was there, and what I can say for certain is that we have seen almost nothing of the complex tactics that the Bulldogs used. I believe we gradually will over the course of the season, and the pass rush will get better. It is possible that he did not unveil much versus Georgia because our players were not ready, and the 'Dawgs would have handled it fine due to practicing against it every day. And we did not see much in the last game as I believe Lanning was holding stuff out for BYU. I would very surprised if we did not see quite a bit a new defensive blitzes and strategies over the next two games. (IMHO!) And welcome to the forum!
  14. We have beaten teams from Utah in them before.... A good omen?
  15. That is a FishDuck picture and I will elaborate on that game on Saturday morning!
  16. I liked the Chrome helmet with it at the Rose Bowl...
  17. My FishDuck Friends, our fellow OBD member, DazeNconfused, is not available today and unable to respond to the posts you write. But he will be reading them later, and I will give more information a bit later. For now--let's enjoy his take on the game on Saturday, discuss and thank him--and hope he is right!
  18. My thanks to all of you for your words. I will admit that these analysis take twice as long, or longer than Op-Eds to create, but it will now be in the Analysis Library as an important resource. And it will be fun to watch for this in future games; as it was--there were plays where our perimeter was broken and it was interesting to see why, and who could not defeat the blocks. A key component for every defense! Every Thursday over the next five months will be an analysis by either Coach Boles, or yours-truly. Learn more football!
  19. Down memory lane with the Duck! There are none better!
