  1. Isn't it amazing how No. 7 and up are really good teams? Now, that does not make us a "Top-Heavy" conference, but one that is very competitive, entertaining and balanced. Time for us to be proud of the conference again.
  2. Superb analysis, and now…will the in-house offensive analysts tell him the same thing? If he learns from this…
  3. It is incredible, and another big surprise from this team. Klemm is killing it!
  4. This is the rub we all have to live with...yet a 72% completion rate is a mile beyond what we thought was coming. I have to embrace what we discussed before... Bo Nix's Picks: Can You Live With Them? FISHDUCK.COM Right now Oregon fans are almost swooning in a classic "honeymoon" phase with new head coach Dan Lanning before any games are played. To a degree...
  5. Really good point...pushing 80%? (Stop the crazy talk Charles...)
  6. A big change there, and perhaps it is more confidence in his offense at Oregon? At Auburn...when he had any chance...he had to take it?
  7. I was so impressed with how well WSU played and how well they were coached. We were very fortunate to survive, and it got me to pondering again... Those Cougars are going to be big trouble for everyone else, and could be a spoiler for a conference contender. Washington State plays USC, Utah, Oregon State and of course, Washington. All are the other major league contenders, and those Cougars will mess things up for somebody on their schedule! WSU plays Utah and Washington at home...I likey. Could they decide who wins the conference?
  8. When a team is forged in fire? That Pullman game is a perfect example of it. I agree with you Hayward, as winning is important, but that win helped the mental growth of the team so much--so crucial for down the line.
  9. Agreed, and it has got to help offensive player recruiting for freshmen. I really thought that Oregon could get some flips from other programs later in the season as everyone sees what this Lanning team is about. Dillingham is following through with what he promised, and the fun times are back!
  10. We ran a particular play all game...I call it the Tight End Power, where the off-side H-Back and the guard pull to the other side. In one Red Zone play in the first half that got stuffed outside...Bucky did not see a cutback to an inside lane that could have scored instead of being stoned outside. Later in the game on a key down--he did see that inside lane, took it and made the first down. They are learning and their vision is improving. Love it!
  11. I completely agree, as you can see and feel the commitment to learning, to growing. THAT is how we can turn into a conference champion over the course of the season, and it is so refreshing to see! We don't need to get more physical, we need to grow!
  12. Amen, as we all are. I am pleased and perplexed... Wrong more often than I'm right...very hard to predict!
  13. This is that time of year when I often come to the realization that Our Beloved Ducks are not quite as good as I hoped. Right now I am pleased with the growth of the offense, and frankly, pretty surprised at the weakness on defense. At this point to me...we look like a good team, but we are not a great team. Could we be a great team? Absolutely, but not without more growth on defense across the board. The other element is the development of other teams in the conference, and I will admit to being impressed with the coaching taking place at a number of locations. We have some tough games coming up in-conference. We are not a NC contender, IMHO, although with vast defensive improvement....could we make the Playoffs? Right now my goal is to improve to be a legit top-10 team, and that would be a pretty good accomplishment for Lanning's first year. If we don't get better on defense...we could lose three more games. Will we improve? What are your thoughts about where this team is at right now?
  14. How surprised and delighted are you with Oregon's newly found passing attack? It is no longer involving just the running backs and tight ends, as now the wide receivers are a big part and the attack has taken a turn to the exciting. I love the balance; long passes, crossing passes, flair/bubble passes being distributed to all offensive skill players. Passing for 446 yards? The scoring days are back! The development of Nix is an equally compelling story right now, as he went 33/44 or 75% completion rate? Holy crap! Over four games he is passing at a 72% completion percentage, (96/132) and is a good 10 TDs to 3 interceptions. With all that has been written at FishDuck and here....who saw a 72% completion rate coming? I am grateful to see it from a couple of angles; first, it is a ton more entertaining than Pistol-Plunges and as this last game proved...there are times you have to win by scoring a boatload of points because the opponent is scoring easily. Bo, Dilly and this offense has given us the confidence that Oregon can win shootouts too. Are you as surprised as I am?
  15. We have three objectives with the 'Feed: 1) Provide the one place that is free to everyone to get the news/articles about Oregon Sports, and 2) we are not bringing them all to you, as there is massive redundancy among all the sites. We curate the best of each Duck topic and bring them to you, in addition to the major news that all Oregon fans should be informed of. The final one, 3) We are bringing the tasty topics and tweets that can copied and brought to the main forum area for discussion with this wonderful community. We will restrict the number of articles to the FishDuck Feed to under 50, thus it may be 40-something, or the Focused Forty articles and tweets to be aware of for each day. News and articles updated throughout the day!
  16. He is not a great offensive line coach either, IMHO, but he is a great recruiter of players and coaches.
  17. ...was GODUCKS15 who predicted 38-35 and had the right margin, and was closer to the actual score than Chuck Duck at 17-14. Congrats! Ready to celebrate?

  18. One of the long balls went the other way on us, but the WSU QB Couged-up the same mistake fortunately.
  19. They are incredibly well coached; a massive talent discrepancy on paper, but overcome by scheme, coaching and desire. I salute them, as they are going to be tough on the rest of the conference!
  20. I am very grateful that Cota wanted to return, Dilly and Coach Adams wanted him, and that I was completely wrong. We fans at times...
  21. I am blown away at all the long balls thrown and completed today, as it means so much for the offense going forward, and for how it complicates preparation by our opponents. Franklin is rounding into a star, and Thornton came up with a big one today! Hutson was so close...I cannot convey how excited I am to see the long-ball back in the Oregon arsenal. Think this was WSU related, or will it be a regular part of the game plan? Bo Nix about to throw a 55 yard bomb to Kris Hutson... And a biggie....
  22. Who was the idiot on this forum who said that pass-protection would be Oregon's weakness?
  23. We're at 39.50 points per game, a big jump over the coach who lost to Middle-Fricken-Tennessee today. Oregon is on the right track! An emerging superstar receiver?
  24. I was not quite that comfortable! Oregon had to make a ton of plays...and they did. But for WSU to score over 40 points and lose?
  25. My FishDuck Friends...we have a ton to discuss, so let's do it in new threads! Thank goodness it was the Cougs!
