  1. Whew! Another key defensive lineman that Scott Frost and Nebraska wanted bad, as they flew him and his parents in for a last second visit over the weekend. Coach Lanning could play "closing pitcher" with all the "saves" he is making. Big one! Offers from Nebraska, Tennessee, Baylor, USC and...Washington! (Again...the list of all are in the thread that Annie started and so many have graciously added to, but I wanted to highlight this one I personally was quite worried about.) Ben Roberts, 4-star Defensive Lineman, Sticks With Oregon Ducks After Late Nebraska Push by Andrew Nemec of OregonLive
  2. This guy shouts another DJ Johnson type of athlete, that while is a Rivals 3-Star, has a high upside. Not expected, but needed. This is Lanning's first official recruit, while the others were "saving" what we had. (And yes,...this is in the thread about LOIs, I thought I would call attention to a pretty important first victory for Coach Lanning. Keep posting articles all!) Offers from: Texas, Miami, USC and....Washington! (Lanning is following a long line of Oregon coaches taking the Huskies lunch-money!) 2022 Athlete Anthony Jones Flips Commitment From Texas to Oregon, Signs with the Ducks by Max Torres of Ducks Digest
  3. Posted last night already...scroll down to see it and the discussion. But good to see you! And keep posting--thanks.
  4. My FishDuck Friends...this article below gives you a small taste of the Dillingham offense, but tomorrow you get a full meal of what to look for in the Dillingham offense complete with actual key plays. We are putting the finishing touches on it this afternoon and it will publish early AM Thursday. It is a sweet article and Tina Turner was right about FishDuck's Coach Eric Boles..."You're Simply the Best!" What Can We Expect From Kenny Dillingham's Offense With the Oregon Ducks? by Zachary Neel of Ducks Wire
  5. Harrison Taggart signed, and you can keep track by clicking on the link that Annie provided at the top through the day.
  6. LB48...let's look at Rule 26.... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- No. 26: Do not get personal in judgments of the Players or Coaches: We allow commenting about players and coaches as that is what message boards and forums are all about. Second-guessing coaches and judging player performance is what everyone does, but we must not get personal or nasty toward them. Questioning a play-call or whether a tackle should have been made (Performance-related) is fine, and give your thoughts as to why in one direction or the other. Whether a coach should be retained or a player replaced is also fair-game because they know they are in the public sphere and that goes with the territory. Let’s discuss, but Ad Hominem attacks on them are forbidden. No such rules with coaches at other teams, their players or their fans. Go for it and have fun! -------------------------------------------------------------------- LB48....the rules pertain to current members of the team. Micah Pittman is no longer on the team, and has not been for nearly a month. This case was actually discussed among us Moderators about how to handle it because tons of forum members wrote how he was selfish, and I gave it a pass since he left the team before the season was done. This was a great example of trying to justify bad behavior through the video and it backfired on him. Members of this forum can go after the players, coaches, fans--anything of other teams. We cannot get personal with members of the forum, writers and management of the forum, and current players/coaches of the team. ------------------------------------------------------------------- When I call or check with someone on a rule violation--I do it privately by phone or email. It is a shame you could not do the same, LB48. I would now suggest you look at Rule No. 3 before you respond.
  7. After watching the video and pondering on it....I am now back to being convinced that this was completely a selfish act by Pittman. C'mon...he was on the inside. He knew better than anyone before this year what Mario wanted to do. Note how he spoke often of the NFL in the video? Sorry, but I do not think he is NFL talent. He is correct in his determination of the Cristobal intent and offense...but he knew it already. Yes...Cristobal fed him a bum deal, and we agree. So transfer at the end of the season! Note also that he spoke of, "what if I get injured and enter the portal as damaged goods?" It's all about ME baby! He spoke how his head wasn't in to it...."oh geez, life is so tough. You are an incredible athlete that has four games left to play before you take your talents elsewhere, but you cannot wait?" "Your head wasn't in it? You poor baby!" Geez...is that the epitome of today's spoiled, entitled athlete? I do not blame him for transferring AFTER the season was over. He bailed on his teammates because of his own selfish desires. And bailing like that was a distraction that hurt the team, and ultimately will be recognized for what it was.
  8. You did not see our analysis articles apparently. One receiver in this offense averaged 21 yards per catch! To stop the run--defenses play the WRs one-one-one and it creates huge explosion plays from the match-ups.
  9. Mario snookered Rob Mullens about his upcoming offense, the fans, the players and I highly suspect...the coaches he recruited. This would have been a boring off-season because prior years we had the thought that,..."he'll learn and turn the offense over," and he is growing, etc. Now, after four years we know that he is NOT changing, and Micah lived it. My friends...we have really dodged a bullet here!
  10. Coach Boles, Coach Mosier and I did analysis articles a year ago about the possibility of this, and we would love to see this at Oregon. Talk about setting things on it's head!
  11. The defensive lineman took a recruiting visit to Nebraska with his parents? Our current vulnerable position is the only way Frosty can beat the Ducks for a recruit. DL Ben Roberts to Decide Between Nebraska and Oregon This Evening by Mike Matya of Husker Online
  12. The results of recruiting speak for itself; keep what is working on-board! Dan Lanning Makes First Coaching Hire, Retains Don Johnson as Director of Player Personnel by Matt Prehm of Duck Territory 247
  13. I do NOT know how revenue can be generated from the NIL of any offensive linemen to justify 50K. Looks like a payoff to me...and charity work by a freshman guard is worth 50K to any charity? Those who work for charities that I've coordinated Planned Gifts with do not make much money. It is beyond a stretch that a "charity" paying 50K to a 19 year old tackle can be justified. Wow.
  14. That is pretty smart...turn an objection into a selling point. Not feeling sorry as the negative recruiting against Oregon when the NCAA took two years to decide to slap us on the hand--took a much worse toll in our recruiting than the actual penalty. All the Pac-12 schools frightened recruits about the future--probably as coaches are now about what will happen at ASU. And I promise you the "Mario can't coach," and "players don't develop at Oregon" was probably used more than once against the Ducks on the recruiting trail. No tears for the Huskies here!
  15. It would not have taken much to discuss his philosophy and goals on offense to assure the Duck faithful that we are not getting another version of Cristobal. Just 30 seconds in 24 minutes could have done it beyond what he said already. I think it was important, and I think many other fans think so as well. But don't get me wrong--I LOVE the hire, as his upside is so much more than MC, IMHO.
  16. Well, Mario wasn't wrong about, "the Huskies represent all that is wrong with college football."
  17. Thanks so much for posting this, as this IS the best confirmation. Makes us all feel great...thanks.
  18. He was not one of the "lost" ones, but I too am quite glad he is joining us.
  19. (From Oregon Athletics Press Release) EUGENE, Ore. — Verone McKinley III joined Kayvon Thibodeaux as a 2021 consensus all-American on Tuesday as both Ducks were named to the Sporting News All-America first team. A player is recognized as a consensus all-American after being named to the first team by at least half of the five official selectors – the Walter Camp Football Foundation (WCFF), Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), Associated Press (AP), Sporting News, and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). McKinley has now earned first-team all-America honors by the WCFF, AP, and Sporting News, while also landing on the FWAA second team. The AFCA all-America teams will be revealed on Wednesday. Thibodeaux secured consensus all-America status on Monday with the release of the AP all-America team. He has been named to the first team by each of the first four official selectors, and can become the fourth unanimous all-American in program history if he is named to the first team by the AFCA. Thibodeaux and McKinley are the ninth and 10th consensus all-Americans ever for the Ducks, and the first pair of teammates to earn the honor in the same season since Marcus Mariota and Ifo Ekpre-Olomu in 2014. LaMichael James and Cliff Harris also were consensus all-Americans in the same season in 2010.
