Which Pac-12 Teams do Best at Developing 3-Star Talent
It is funny to me how I truly get foaming at the mouth with fans of some schools, but not Utah. Usually, when a team has kicked your butt badly...twice...you have a fan antipathy toward that team. I don't because I view Utah in the South division as the underdog as Oregon had been in the past trying to compete with Don James, etc., at Washington. And I respect your coach in a big way. Don't get me wrong--I want Oregon to beat Utah in every sport and every time--just as you want to do the same with Oregon, but I just don't have the same venom. I do know some Utah fans really hate Oregon...but I don't feel the same in return. "We want to win, but are good sports." I doubt I am representative of Oregon fans, but I sure have enjoyed the thoughts of Utah fans in this forum along with the very gracious Georgia fans. We have an occasional USC or Cal fan that frankly--has been nice, so I welcome all nice fans who are reasonable...and who can just roll-their-eyes and go along with some of the incendiary things they see posted here about their and other teams at times. Thanks for being here, and yep....I have a thing about helmets! A Rose Bowl sunset gleaming on an Oregon Helmet? Whew!

Which Pac-12 Teams do Best at Developing 3-Star Talent
This is what Oregon fans said for years, as it is great to coach-up the 3-Stars, but why not attract the best to begin with? Our coaches at that time could not recruit at the levels we are now...and yet now we are afflicted with a bit of the "USC Disease" where not all your top players are developed to their fullest. We are hoping that Dan Lanning can achieve the dream; recruit the best and develop them, as they did at Georgia. It will be fun to see if he can...

CJ Carr to Notre Dame Overshadowed by ‘Redshirting?’
I still shake my head at the phrase..."a 17 year old sophomore in high school!" What a perversion of the process!

CJ Carr to Notre Dame Overshadowed by ‘Redshirting?’
This is insane, IMHO, and makes college recruiting tougher, as you would have college-age players as a senior competing against high schoolers, and thus a player may have already peaked...while in high school? But because of the quarterback recruiting dominoes...this could clear the way for Oregon to have a better shot at an elite 2023 QB. And outstanding research for this article Jordan, as I did not know the rules at the state level, and am glad to see the state of Oregon have minimal protection at least for the younger players.

Which Pac-12 Teams do Best at Developing 3-Star Talent
I am very surprised at No. 1, and how Utah is not No. 1, as I think they have coached up talent and outperformed their recruiting (by great player analysis) by a mile. (The way Oregon used to!) Gotta love No. 12!

'High on Cristobal? This Hype is LAUGHABLE...'
Look...even with my bias--I can't make this stuff up! Someone pushes back and gets clobbered by Pate... How should I feel? "The evidence is there, as Mari is a great recruiter, but lacking as a Coach." Sorry Josh...but I don't buy your upside. Will he improve Miami? Sure, but like Oregon...the bar was low when he takes over. If Cristobal stayed at Oregon this year--there would have been a MASS EXODUS of players, and there already was among offensive linemen and running backs that Lanning saved. The majority of the wide receivers would have entered the portal... The point is--it is not just now, but after the fourth year--how does everyone feel about the future then? Mari can elevate them initially as he did with Oregon for which I am grateful, but he is not a big winner over the long term. I believe this year at Oregon would have been the beginning of a decline that only would have ended with him leaving--one way or another. I am happy with Lanning, very happy.

DB's Have Powledge Power
As I go over the Spring Game, (and there will be a couple more analyses coming up this summer) one thing I noted is how badly the safeties got burned and how often. Bridges had a pick-six because the pass was thrown behind the receiver, not because of the coverage. However, it was an incredible acrobatic catch to pull it in and stay on his feet. Bennett Williams was trailing a ton of plays or simply could not stop some TDs. I am going to hope that it is because of the offense exploding due to matchups and schemes. But the experience in the defensive backfield is comforting, and gives me hope for the fall. Williams in a showdown with a Buckeye Running Back... Head T&F Coach Robert Johnson Comments on NCAA Championships
"It was a disappointing weekend for our men, definitely a tough way to end the season but it's something we'll look at, and always look at win or lose, as we evaluate the year. I mentioned taking our lumps but this weekend is not the expectation and we'll bounce back. We had several first timers on both sides, men and women, in terms of competing at the NCAA Championships so some of those things take time to figure out." "Everyone that qualifies for the national meet wants to do well when they get here, and sometimes you have a bad race or a bad weekend at the worst time, or sometimes it's just an off day. Now you go back and figure out what didn't work this time so that it's better the next time." "I can't thank the fans enough for showing up like they did this weekend to support the meet and all the team and athletes. This was definitely a truer experience of Hayward Magic compared to last year's meet, and I'm glad that our team got to feel that."
