Tonight: Oregon Men's Basketball Game Against Colorado
Dave23 replied to NJDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I would have like to see Oquindo and Tracy play more, they have more heft and weren't being pushed around as much as the other guard. They also play a style of D that is tuff and in your face. Cook and Dante need to get in shape. Seams to me that Cook would have been a good matchup for Williams who was just killing it against the smaller guards. Dante doesn't even seam like himself, barely able to elevate and getting stuffed by little guys. Colorado is a tall team that is also quite agile, they played the toughest D the Ducks have seen all year. -

Time for Oquindo and Tracy to give that boost. -

Shelstad is not being the creator he normally is, not seeing those drive and dish or pull up jumpers. Looking a little timid. -

KJ has seemed off the last 2 games. Stopping Williams is tuff ask for anyone but having one of the big guys in the middle sure wouldn't hurt. -

Better energy, that but chewing at halftime seams to be working. -

Dana is definitely not happy, I would not want to be in that locker room. No ball movement, flatfooted on D. -

The Ducks are having a hard time finding their rhythm and need to keep driving the ball to the rim. -

In Montana we've been having highs of -12 with lows of -35 throw in the wind chill and we got down to -60 a few days ago. I'll take that any day over freezing rain. -

A lot of points off the bench tonight with the Ducks showing they can win with a lot of different player combination. This team is different then part years in that it has great depth and Dana can ride the hot hand to the win. -
Great game tonight with Oregon coming back from 18 down to win by 7. Used a lot of different guys tonight and showed that they have great depth on the bench.

Lanning Leaving: What We Know... (WHEW!)
Dave23 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
The NIKE stock option could be quite the incentive to stay long term. College football really is turning into big a corporation, complete with employee stock based compensation. Big corporations have been doing this for a long time to attract and keep the best talent, guess it makes sense for football now. How long before top QB prospects are getting a Nike stock option? Might be just the incentive to locking down the best players as well. Football is going fully corporate. -
Penix didn't look right from the beginning, the whole team came out with a deer in the headlights look. Hard to win a big time game when you take the first quarter off, kind of like what the ducks did in the PAC-12 championship. I've often wondered if playing in a dome affects the QBs. In basketball it's very common for players to have off shooting nights in large domes when they're used to playing in small gyms. If memory serves me right Bo hasn't looked as good throwing in games in domes. In the Georgia Dome and Allegiant Stadium his throws were shaky to start the game. I haven't watched a lot of Washington games but Penix was missing some very easy throws at the start of the game.

I Was WRONG About Jackson Shelstad...
Dave23 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I can't believe they have done so well down low. Most the time it's Evans guarding a guy way bigger than him and he's doing well. On the weak side down low you have Couisnard 6'4", Tracy 6'5", or Oquendo 6'4" garding the 4 spot. Lucky all these guys have some beef to them at 220bl + and surprisingly they aren't getting pushed around with some pretty decent rebounding. -

The Ducks could have easily beaten the Mutts if they were aloud to hold there receives every play. -

The mutts took a quarter off. That generally doesn't work out well. -
Michigan vs. Washington CFP Championship Pre-game Discussion
Dave23 replied to DrJacksPlaidPants's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Dose Michigan have 3 NFL ready DBs? I don't think so, good luck stopping Penix and his NFL level WRs. With Penix pinpoint throws and the talent WRs a 50-50 ball is more like 96% ball. Hate to say this but Penix is the real deal and the best pure passer in all of college ball. -
Sugar Bowl Thread: Washington vs. Texas
Dave23 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I believe if we had a better kicker he would have found it less necessary to go for it. By the end of the season even I thought going for on 4th and goal was the better of 2 evals. -

I totally agree with you. While they're at it they need to overhaul the NIL rules and probably the entire NCAA bylaws.
