  1. A Little Moore Love. ❤️❤️❤️ College Football Analyst Turns Heads With Darkhorse Heisman Pick - Athlon Sports
  2. A take in support of SC dropping Notre Dame. Losing Notre Dame-USC is the price of conference realignment, and it is not the Trojans' fault WWW.SPORTINGNEWS.COM Notre Dame and USC have not come to an agreement to extend their nearly 100-year series, but USC's case for ending it is valid. Having SC on the schedule means more of NBC's money for the Irish and nothing for SC. Money The Irish share with no one. Having SC on the schedule helps with ND's scheduling, even when SC is down, the game's a TV draw, and also helps with ND's recruiting in California. A win-win for ND and not so much for SC. Last season's PO runner-up ND played four G5 opponents. SC is not able to schedule four G6 opponents. And SC plays in a deeper conference than the ACC.
  3. O'Gara's No. 1 seed? LSU, Florida, Vandy, Oklahoma, Mississippi State? Predicting the 2025 Playoff: No. 2 Oregon - Saturday Down South WWW.SATURDAYDOWNSOUTH.COM Oregon's 2024 Playoff experience ended on the worst possible note, so is redemption in store in 2025? You bet. I'm going with the Bayou Bengals. However, and FWIW, I like those Hairy Dawgs. (The Georgia, not the Mississippi State, breed. 😁) Will Brian Kelly finally win an opening game? Opening in the 'Other Death Valley' versus Clemson will not be easy. I'll post Saturday Down South's O'Gara's final pick tomorrow. O'Gara believes we will see Playoff seeding matching the rankings in 2025-26. This would mean OBD, with a 1st round bye, playing the winner of No. 11 Louisville at No. 6 Ohio State in the Rose Bowl. 🤔Hmmmm.
  4. Bo and Justin's QB Rankings. (From one source.) Where Bo Nix, Justin Herbert rank amongst top QBs in NFL this year DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Pro Football Focus ranked all 32 starting quarterbacks in the NFL and Bo Nix and Justin Herbert both received interesting placements.
  5. Your bad? No way. I had inside information. Wally Godwin, RIP, was my ex-wife's uncle. A terrific guy. A legend in college golf circles.
  6. The invitational golf match Stanford hosts every year is named The Wally Godwin Invitational. Wally was the coach at Northwestern before he took the job at Stanford. Luke Donald, European Ryder Cup Captain in 2023 and will be the Captain again in 2025, played for Wally at Northwestern. US Open winner Matt Fitzpatrick is also a Northwestern graduate. Northwestern Men's team has won the B1G Men's Golf Championship nine times, including the 2024 championship. Stanford won a national championship under Wally. On that team was the Oregon golf coach Casey Martin, Notah Begay, and some guy named Tiger Woods.
  7. I have no problem cursing these guys with a wasting skin disease. 😎 Four coaches Duck fans love to hate AUTZENZOO.COM Sports hate is different from regular hate. Duck fans don't wish harm to their families or a wasting skin disease, but there are 4 coaches Duck love to despise. However, Hats Off (please) to Jedd Fisch!
  8. The SEC going to nine conference games means that SEC Teams will no longer schedule OBD out of conference? 😉 SEC insider admits conference as we know it is about to change SATURDAYBLITZ.COM The SEC is on the brink of a major change. According to longtime SEC insider Paul Finebaum, change isn’t just coming—it’s basically inevitable. And it starts wi
  9. I love the thought, but I want to see Moore. 🤓
  10. Is OBD now QBU? Why Oregon is the new "QB U" SATURDAYBLITZ.COM College football fans take pride in a lot of things including championships, award-winning players, history, and traditions. Being the "it" school for certain p I love the thought, but I want to see Moore. 😁
  11. Will Oregon have to face the top pitcher, per BTN, in the conference if it opens against the Spartans? Oregon Baseball kicks off Big Ten Tournament as No. 1 seed DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The No. 1 seed Oregon Ducks opens up their conference tournament journey facing Michigan State in Omaha, Neb. As I understand (don't understand) the format, the 1st game tournament opponent for OBD is yet to be determined? Nothing new, I'm confused. 😜
  12. Easy to say when you're sitting on top, but how about, We're No. 1! Next Up, the NCAA Tournament! 30 Duck, thanks again for helping Charles and informing us OBDers about the Men and Women Diamond Ducks.
  13. Good question. SC was scheduled to play Ole Miss in LA to open the 2025 season. The two schools agreed to drop the H+H series. Then, Wake Forest cancelled out on a return trip to Ole Miss, leaving the Rebels without a P4 team on the OOC schedule in 2025 unless one considers WAZZU, signed to replace Wake, a P5 team. The SEC requires its member teams to play at least one P4 team out of conference every season. I see no reason why an SC program trying to return to relevance should continue to make things easier for ND to stay independent, and along with Stanford, help ND's recruiting by assuring the Irish a game in California every season. ND is positioned to reach the PO every season and to share its PO revenue with no one else.
  14. The ILLINI, TOSU, and PSU are in. Where's OBD? Predicting the 2025 Playoff: No. 4 Penn State - Saturday Down South WWW.SATURDAYDOWNSOUTH.COM Penn State broke through with its first Playoff berth last year, so can it make the field in 2025? It can do so without breaking a sweat.
  15. This Couldn't Happen Last Season? College Football Playoff nearing consensus to alter seeding process with changes to first-round byes - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM The power conferences are in agreement to move to a format that will eliminate automatic first-round byes for conference champions.
  16. How about, YES! If you are 'wrestling' with the question, do not try out for WWE. 🤑 💩 Is Miami paying too much for 5-star OT Jackson Cantwell? College insiders react to massive NIL deal - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Is it wise to spend 10% of the salary cap on a high school offensive tackle? That's a question many have wrestled with after five-star Jackson Cantwell's Miami commitment
  17. Thank you! And thank goodness it's only 24% and not 25%. 😜
  18. I expect UW will run silent, and not be able to throw deep, and will be torpedoed by OBD on 11/29/25. 😁
  19. "Oregon's 87.4 QBR since Dan Lanning took over as coach is tops in the nation." Ranking all 136 FBS QB situations into tiers ahead of the 2025 season - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM From Clemson to Kennesaw State, David Hale ranks all 136 FBS school quarterbacks into tiers.
  20. "You are what your record says you are." Bill Parcells Excellent effort at Vandy, but he was under .500 vs. the SEC, 11-13. James Franklin versus Top 10 opponents is 4-20 overall, and 3-17 at Penn State. His team freezes at key moments. 1st and goal from the Buckeyes 5-yard line vs. Ohio State last season, scored no points, and the Ohio State O never gave PSU the ball again. A terrific defensive effort was wasted. Two terrible late-game interceptions; one against OBD in the conference champ game and a game-changer vs. Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl. And an early unforced interception against Ohio State that led to a score and was the difference in the game. You have a Blue Chip roster, and your WRs catch no passes in the PO semifinal vs. Notre Dame. Your team puts up 49 points in the Rose Bowl, and you lose the game. He can lose when he doesn't score and when he does score. Perhaps, Jim Knowles will make the same difference on D he made in Columbus, and PSU will defeat OBD and TOSU this season. But defense, except in clutch moments, has not been the problem at Penn State. I believe that PSU will drop at least one of its games vs. the Os in 2025. 3-17 does not equate to learning from your losses.
  21. A seeded as ranked 16-team PO field in 2024-25, with no spots guaranteed for any conference would have been: 16. Clemson at 1. Oregon 9. Boise State at 8. Indiana 13. Miami at 4. Penn State 12. ASU at 5. Notre Dame 15. South Carolina at 2. Georgia 10. SMU at 7. Tennessee 14. Ole Miss at 3. Texas 11. Alabama at 6. Ohio State 6 SEC/ 4 B1G/ 3 ACC/ 1 G6, Independent, B12 With a 4-4-2-2-1-3 format, ACC champion Clemson moves up to No. 15, knocking out South Carolina. BYU is No. 16 as the B12's 2nd team and plays OBD in the 1st round. Clemson would rematch with Georgia in Athens. The B12 doesn't want two teams assured to be in the field? Without the guaranty, the B12 is out $4 million. The 8 conference game, 2 Blue Chip Roster ACC would have had three participants, plus Notre Dame. If the ACC wants an assured three teams in the field, require ND to become a football member, and then three in is fine. Even though the ACC went 0-2 in 2024-25. Notre Dame and Boise State were the two PO teams in 2024 that played four or more G6 opponents. There is no justification for the ACC to play only eight conference games. Boise State at No. 9 is one reason why the Power 2 are concerned over a Committee picking and seeding teams. Boise was a solid G6 team, but Boise wold have lost to a majority of teams ranked No. 10 through No. 16 and the Committee never provided a cogent reason as to why the Broncos were ranked 9th. Power 2: Tell the Peanut Gallery to pipe down. 🤬
  22. They added, on paper, three good receivers from the portal. Spot on comment. Versus Notre Dame, no PSU WR caught a pass.
  23. Here's a look at our 'Advisory Committee Buddies' portal rankings. Will the Portal King lose 3 games again? SEC Football Transfer Portal Rankings: Ole Miss' early work puts them in superb spot OLEHOTTYTODDY.COM It feels like yesterday when the winter transfer portal was opening, but now the spring transfer portal has also closed. This means that no more players can ent
  24. Here's an update on PO format discussions. Report: Power Conference commissioners meet again to discuss College Football Playoff future - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Power Conference commissioners met again on Saturday to discuss the College Football Playoff's future, Yahoo Sports' Ross Dellenger reported. The Power 2 will decide what the final format looks like. The ACC, with eight conference games and its enabling of Notre Dame as an Independent, does not deserve three automatic places in the field. Going 0-2 in the PO last season does not help the ACC's argument. In a conference with ZERO Blue Chip Roster teams, the B12 should be happy to have two participants in the field.
  25. It's High Noon between the O-HI-O legislature and a Fox. 😁 You took the money, you spent the money, too bad you didn't read the contract. The Tennessee Legislature has passed a law telling the NCAA that the House settlement terms cannot be enforced in the Volunteer State other than for its share of House damages. According to the legislature, the Vols and Vandy can exceed the $20.5 million year one cap on direct payment to athletes with impunity. And, any and every NIL deal is kosher and cannot be found to be out of line with 'market value.' The above two pieces of legislation evidence the need for college sports to find relief from the federal government. The House settlement does nothing to curtail 'creative' state legislative activity. If I were Greg Sankey, I'd tell the Tennessee legislature it's all good, but Tennessee and Vanderbilt are not included among the SEC defendants settling with the House plaintiffs.
