Pac-12 Week 2 Whip Around - The Beat Goes On!
EIGHT, 8, OCHO, Pac-12 teams ranked in the Week 2 AP Poll! This has to be a record. And this conference is breaking up with 16. OR ST, and 23. Wazzu being left behind in the G5? NO Easy Day in this conference.

Pac-12 Week 2 Whip Around - The Beat Goes On!
Like the monsters in horror films, the Pac-12 zombies keep coming after you. The conference was 18-0 before Arizona dropped a tough game in OT against Mississippi State. The SEC to date is 3-6 versus the Power 5 (Mari(o,) is that you?) while the on its way out Pac-12 is 6-3 versus the varsity and has yet to suffer a loss to a G5 opponent. And yesterday, both the Arizona and Cal games vs. the SEC could have easily gone the other way. How did this conference's "leaders (?)" screw this up? 1-1 Arizona - 24 at Mississippi State - 31. The Wildcats came to play in Starkvegas. But in the end, QB de Laura lost his NIL wages. 1-1 ASU - 15 vs. Oklahoma State - 27. Dilly's O dallied in the quest for win #2. Florida boosters not coming up with the cash for Rash is a decision they eschew. 1-1 Cal - 10 vs. Auburn - 14. Jaydn, you Ott not to pregame talk. Justin could have put the Freeze on his hot seat, but raspberries and not strawberries on O said, 'It's not to be.' 2-0 Colorado - 36 vs. Nebraska - 14. Prime, Ralphie, and CU Rhuled. Will 3-0 Prime and Sons come to Autzen to be schooled? 2-0 - Oregon State - 55 vs. UC Davis - 7. UC Davis. I C OOC scheduling that made Fox nervous. 2-0 UCLA - 30 - San Diego State - 10. The Bruins tripped south to San Diego City. Dante's Chip's man, Moore's the pity. 3-0 - USC - 56 vs. Stanford - 10. How do you chop down a Tree? Hand Caleb the Axe and it's easy as can be. 2-0 - Utah - 20 at Baylor - 13 - Utah wins Bearly. But fairly? 2-0 - Washington 2-0 - 45 vs. Tulsa - 10 - Penix and DeBoer are passing fancy. Scheduling a December trip to NYC is not all that chancey. 2-0 - Washington State - 31 vs. Wisconsin - 22 - Cam's effort to Ward off Bucky was far from Fickell. The Badgers return to Mad City for brats, beers, and sour pickles. 2- 0 - OREGON - HUZZAH! - 38 at Texas Tech - 30. Parking Puddles in a trailer was downright rude. The Red Raiders' 23 first-game home winning streak is bid adieu. Puddles won the game in Texas. With fewer than 546 flexes. Until next week, Aloha!

Ducks Disrupt in Lubbock: Penalties and Interceptions
How about this, sports fans? SEC vs. P5 OOC 3-6 (and the AZ/Cal games could have easily gone the other way.) Pac-12 vs. P5 OOC is 6-3. The SEC better not be getting its usual playoff rankings bump in 2023. And the QB play in the Pac-12? Off the charts.

Ducks Disrupt in Lubbock: Penalties and Interceptions
Coach Charles and Coach Boles. Please help out a guy who isn't in your league when it comes to Xs and Os. Is this D too difficult to be played by mere mortals? Want to watch Georgia players play D, tune into the NFL today. I think the entire Philadelphia D prepped in Athens. And even with a plethora of future pros on the field, The UGA D gave up a lot of points to Lincoln Riley and OK in the Rose Bowl. Allowed a Bama receiver to get deep for Tua's champ game walk-off winning throw. Had the game in hand but surrendered a lot of points to LSU in the 2022 SEC champ game. Was lit up by Ohio State last season and was fortunate that a key Ohio State WR went down. In my less than expert opinion it seems to me that there is a serious lack of communication in the Oregon back 7. I am confused about the role the DL is supposed to play. Aggressive? Passive? Passive-Agressive? The inability to slow down a Beavers O that could not pass the ball last season still rankles. Oregon's roster thanks to the recruiting and astute portal picking by DL and staff is getting there roster-wise but isn't close to the talent that UGA fields. Would Oregon be better off with a KISS philosophy on D? One that allows the players to be more instinctual and less concerned about being in the proper spot? Great gutty win last night but it is not that often that you are going to be +4 in TOs (tortillas?) on the road against a quality opponent. I am very happy with the win and DL's 14-3 record to date but it seems to me, again I am no expert, that something is missing; that the physical talents of the players on D are not being allowed to show up on the field. Thankfully, Oregon has an Aloha week to improve before the Deion and Son air aerial circus comes to town.

Oregon vs. Texas Tech: Never-in-Doubt!
14 Penalties. 14! 2022-like inability to get off of the field on 3rd down. BUT, one hell of a gutty comeback against a team that had won 23 home openers in a row. The pass D, especially in this conference, best improve before Prime and Sons' trip to Autzen in Week 4. Too bad Game Day is in Boulder for the CO. ST. game. Week 4 would have been perfect for a visit to Autzen. Charles is spot on. Never A Doubt!

No Sacks! No Defense! No Problem for Oregon
Good take. In fairness, Ohio State scheduled an H+H with Oregon. The game at Autzen was COVID out. Auburn plays at Cal on Saturday night. AZ plays a return game at MS ST. Bama plays at Wisconsin next season in the first game of an H+H series. LSU opens against USC in Las Vegas to open the 2024 season and plays a return game vs. UCLA in Baton Rogue. UGA - 2024 Clemson in ATL/ 2025 open at UCLA with the return game in 2026/ 27- 28 H+H with FSU/ 29 - 30 H+H with Clemson/ 30 - 31 H+H with Ohio State. Compare these games to future Oregon OOC scheduled games. The OOC games vs. Ohio State and Michigan State, if played when scheduled will be conference games. Oregon is left with TX Tech, OK ST, Baylor, Hawaii, Boise State, Utah State, and other G5 opponents, including games at Boise and Logan, Utah!

2023 College Football Week 2 Place Your Bets
You can talk the talk if you walk the walk. So far, Deion has done so in his college and NFL playing days and as a head coach. One of the greatest sports achievements I have witnessed was Deion hitting a home run on Saturday for the Braves and scoring on a pick on Sunday for the Cowboys. The man won 2 Super Bowls and played in a World Series. To me, Brent Yormack is a carnival barker. Deion delivers.

No Sacks! No Defense! No Problem for Oregon
Great post. But a word of caution. TT was 6-1 in Lubbock last season with wins over Oklahoma and Texas. TT has won its home opener 23 seasons in a row. Great article by Charles and I cop to overreacting to the absence of sacks and few TFL against PSU. Have to disrupt Shough by getting pressures on dropbacks as did an undersized Wyo D in Laramie. Shough is not a guy who will beat you running the ball. Can't wait for this game and those in attendance, watch out for flying tortillas.

2023 College Football Week 2 Place Your Bets
With the $ and the publicity he is bringing in for CU, I expect Deion will get a pay bump at year's end. Especially if CU goes bowling which is doable if the Buffs defeat old Big 8 foe Nebraska on Saturday. I think both Deion and his 2 sons will be in Boulder for at least one more season. He has indicated that he has no interest in coaching in the NFL. With his blood cancer issues does he want the SEC pressure cooker scene? He has a great place to recruit. Boulder is beautiful and the campus is beautiful. An AAU member school that relaxed transfer credit acceptability for Sanders. The fruit of this decision is showing on the field of play. Norvell? He has it cooking at FSU at a time when it looks like Clemson may be on the decline. He'll probably end up in the SEC only because FSU is a logical choice for SEC expansion. FSU has big boosters. Consider what it cost to get rid of Slick. The boosters will open the wallet for a coach on the verge of returning FSU to the halcyon days of Bobby Bowden and the teams Deion played on.

2024 - I'm So Excited I Just Can't Hide It and I'm Ready to Shout and Jump Around!
Love the comment. But the B1G and the Bay Area? I believe the B1G/Fox passed. Not Fox when it comes to the NFL. You can call me Don, or you can call me Juan, as long as the Ducks win, it's all good. As to any kind of math, I feel your pain.

2024 - I'm So Excited I Just Can't Hide It and I'm Ready to Shout and Jump Around!
4 score minus 4- years I arrived in this mortal coil. (Sorry, Abe.) Born in Toledo, Ohio in the same hospital where Urban Meyer and Jim Harbough later arrived. This is my football claim to fame other than making 2nd team All-New England back before the WW Web in 1966, where I was listed in The Boston Globe as 'Don' Joseph. (Don Juan, although not fitting, would have been OK.) Fame is fleeting. With the last roundup on the horizon, I am focused on 2023, with good reason, and not looking ahead. But the latest Week 1 AP Poll has me fired up! 2024 - New SEC - 8 teams ranked - 1. Georgia/ 3. Alabama/ 9. Tennessee/ 11. Texas/ 14. LSU/ 18. Oklahoma/ 20. Ole Miss/ 23. Texas A+M Total ranking # - 99 Divided by 8 (thank goodness for calculators) = 12.37 average ranking. 2024 - New B1G - 7 teams ranked - 2. Michigan/ 5. Ohio State/ 6. USC/ 7. Penn State/ 8. Washington/ 13. Oregon/ 19. Wisconsin Total ranking # - 60 Divided by 7 = 8.57 Go Ducks! Beat TT! But playing it forward, there is no doubt that the 2024 B1G newbies (add on #27, UCLA to arrive at 8 future ranked B1G teams and you have 87 Divided by 8 = average ranking 10.87) will have an impact in the B1G (18.). An immediate impact. Carried forward it will be a new rankings day and the 2023 Week 1 rankings certainly do not ensure that the 2024 B1G will begin winning Playoff titles. But there is no doubt the 4 Pac-12 newbies will invigorate the B1G and the idea that any of the four will struggle to find the same success the teams found in the Pac-12 in the B1G is senseless. Puddles, how about flocking East with a Final 4 appearance in hand? Nested in the first Final 4, why not the final Final 4?
