Would the Pac-6, CAL, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, Washington, and Washington State be considered a member of the Power 5 (in reality today it is a Power 2) by adding - Colorado State, San Diego State, Fresno State, UNLV, Boise State, SMU, UT San Antonio, and Tulane? And possibly Tulsa and Memphis? If it comes to pass that only 6 Pac teams remain I believe the above-listed newbies would make sense. But would the Power 4 and Notre Dame buy off on this?

An idle week before the conference champ game is solid gold. Especially compared to last season when SC came off of the Notre Dame game and Utah played CU. 9 games in a row is tough but SC does not trip back-to-back in the conference or play this gauntlet: UW - vs Utah. At USC. At Oregon State. Oregon if it makes the champ game will be coming off a game versus physical Oregon State while SC plays Thin Air. Having a week to rest up, heal up and game plan against two possible champ game opponents is a gift to a program that told, after the fact, the Pac-10 to get bent. I am far last sanguine over this than are you. But I very much appreciate your take and the information contained therein.

It's hard to believe but I think that SC, with the Cali scheduling agreement, has not played UW since 2019. I get Utah but most certainly not UW. In addition, SC misses Oregon State in 2023 although I realize that SC played the Beavers in 2021 and 2022. Meanwhile, Oregon plays the 4 most likely title contenders, including Oregon State, with 2 games on the road. SC plays 1 preseason top-25 contender on the road, Oregon. SC plays the Pac-12 South in an era without divisions and also plays Stanford. There is no reason why SC should not play UW on the road instead of playing at CU, Stanford, and Arizona, for example, on the road. Add in an idle week before the Pac-12 championship and this is a comparative piece of cake. And SC fans had the chutzpah to whine over having to play Utah at home the Saturday after playing in South Bend.

BTW, the Polar Bear is the Bowdoin mascot due to Arctic explorers Peary and MacMillan both being graduates of the school. Perhaps this will help one day if you play Trivial Pursuit.

Will Flowe show in Arizona? Dan L has picked up some studs from the portal. Will they be integrated and mesh as a team on the field? We have a DC who can recruit but can he coach at a championship level?

I agree with you but it is a loooooog off-season filled with predictions that will most likely not hold true come the regular season. See TCU in 2022. I do think that at least 7 teams from the Pac-12 will go bowling this season. Where do they go? Who knows and Who is often wrong? I do think that off-season predictions like that of SP+ are correct in terms of the 4 playoff teams coming from the 6 to 8 highest preseason-ranked teams. Again, TCU was big-time outlier in 2022.

Colorado AD Rich George recently pledged allegiance to the Pac. However, when it comes to geography the B12 would make sense for CU. BTW - CU does play Nebraska OOC this season but Nebraska is in the B1G (only non-AAU accredited B1G member school) and not the B12. Of course, CU used to play ball in the B12. Along with Nebraska, Missouri, and Texas A+M. Nest season add Oklahoma and Texas to the list. The more GK fiddles the more the Pac-10 is at risk of burning down. Will the B1G come with a discounted offer for Oregon and Washington? Perhaps, but the B1G and Fox will not add more teams from the Pac-12 before knowing what the new Pac-10 media deal bottom line is. The B1G is not going to arrive at a number without first knowing the number for Oregon and Washington. The only no-brainer addition for the B1G is Notre Dame. I'm almost certain that USC and UCLA, especially UCLA facing a 'CAL tax' would prefer to see CAL and Stanford going B1G instead of more competitive in football Oregon and UW. I believe Oregon and UW would be welcome by the B12 but who wants to go there? I doubt the Arizona legislature would allow 1 Arizona school to flip without the other. I know Utah wants to stay with the Pac-10. CU is already a tier above CO.ST. and would have no issues with the CO. legislature flipping to the B12. The Pac-10 could replace CU with San Diego State and not miss a beat.
