Colorado Leaving the Pac-12 for the Big-12?
Thank you, Rufus. I get that a Minnie Ha Ha guy would have an in with B1G sources but B12 and Pac-12 sources? I'm seeing this as more unfounded rumor-mongering and I will apologize if wrong. The Pac-12 is facing more incoming than the Marines at Khe Sanh. The Marines fought back.

Pac-12 Championship Odds: USC Favored to Win League
Man, -30,000, -15,000, -6,000. These odds are crying out for a $10 bet plus the $1 vig. But Caesar's and the other LV books know what they are doing.

Pac-12 Championship Odds: USC Favored to Win League
I'm shocked! The sugar is being poured on Troy. Lots of good portal pick-ups but does Grinch have the chops to improve the D? As I have noted before, playing Utah and UW in LA helps SC's cause. As does playing AZ, ASU, CU, Stanford, and missing Oregon State.

Rufus, Charles someone, who is this guy, and has he been a reliable source in the past?

Colorado Leaving the Pac-12 for the Big-12?
Yes, Tulane meets the required academic bona fides to join the 'Elite Club.' And last seen beating SC; THIS is in the Green Wave's favor. Roll Waves!

Colorado Leaving the Pac-12 for the Big-12?
Would the Pac-6, CAL, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, Washington, and Washington State be considered a member of the Power 5 (in reality today it is a Power 2) by adding - Colorado State, San Diego State, Fresno State, UNLV, Boise State, SMU, UT San Antonio, and Tulane? And possibly Tulsa and Memphis? If it comes to pass that only 6 Pac teams remain I believe the above-listed newbies would make sense. But would the Power 4 and Notre Dame buy off on this?

The Pac-12 Goes Bowling
Great take. So how about waking someone up in the Pac-12 office to get working on better bowl arrangements? Or, as I noted, have the conference send a lesser team to the Alamo Bowl. Having bowl agreements with 2 bowls in Texas, Alamo, and Sun. to me makes no sense. My guess? You'd have an easier task trying to wake Rip van Winkle. Spot on. Bowls for many mediocre teams exist to give ESPN inventory. The stands are usually devoid of fans and the match-ups do not move the needle except for CFB junkies.

Pac-12 Football Best 2023 Over/Under Win Total Bets
An idle week before the conference champ game is solid gold. Especially compared to last season when SC came off of the Notre Dame game and Utah played CU. 9 games in a row is tough but SC does not trip back-to-back in the conference or play this gauntlet: UW - vs Utah. At USC. At Oregon State. Oregon if it makes the champ game will be coming off a game versus physical Oregon State while SC plays Thin Air. Having a week to rest up, heal up and game plan against two possible champ game opponents is a gift to a program that told, after the fact, the Pac-10 to get bent. I am far last sanguine over this than are you. But I very much appreciate your take and the information contained therein.

Pac-12 Football Best 2023 Over/Under Win Total Bets
It's hard to believe but I think that SC, with the Cali scheduling agreement, has not played UW since 2019. I get Utah but most certainly not UW. In addition, SC misses Oregon State in 2023 although I realize that SC played the Beavers in 2021 and 2022. Meanwhile, Oregon plays the 4 most likely title contenders, including Oregon State, with 2 games on the road. SC plays 1 preseason top-25 contender on the road, Oregon. SC plays the Pac-12 South in an era without divisions and also plays Stanford. There is no reason why SC should not play UW on the road instead of playing at CU, Stanford, and Arizona, for example, on the road. Add in an idle week before the Pac-12 championship and this is a comparative piece of cake. And SC fans had the chutzpah to whine over having to play Utah at home the Saturday after playing in South Bend.

BTW, the Polar Bear is the Bowdoin mascot due to Arctic explorers Peary and MacMillan both being graduates of the school. Perhaps this will help one day if you play Trivial Pursuit.

- Has Lanning Fixed the Duck Defense’s Soft Underbelly?
Great take. But who else do you blame if not the coaches?- Has Lanning Fixed the Duck Defense’s Soft Underbelly?
I have to love a JJ being on board.- Has Lanning Fixed the Duck Defense’s Soft Underbelly?
Good to see but difficult to project into the regular season, especially with mix-and-match OLs leading to a bad run game. In 2023 against a number of teams, I do not think the D will be able to forward press as was the case in the spring game.- Has Lanning Fixed the Duck Defense’s Soft Underbelly?
Thanks for the great take Mr. Marsh. As an advanced middle-aged guy, I can relate to soft bellies. I see Sewell as a situational player in the NFL. Not fluid enough to play in pass protection. Will Flowe show in Arizona? Dan L has picked up some studs from the portal. Will they be integrated and mesh as a team on the field? We have a DC who can recruit but can he coach at a championship level?- The Pac-12 Goes Bowling
I agree with you but it is a loooooog off-season filled with predictions that will most likely not hold true come the regular season. See TCU in 2022. I do think that at least 7 teams from the Pac-12 will go bowling this season. Where do they go? Who knows and Who is often wrong? I do think that off-season predictions like that of SP+ are correct in terms of the 4 playoff teams coming from the 6 to 8 highest preseason-ranked teams. Again, TCU was big-time outlier in 2022.- Colorado Leaving the Pac-12 for the Big-12?
No matter the alternative escaping from Larry's Loser Network will be a boon. Games that kick off at 10:30 and even 7:30 Eastern time on the network: If a tree falls in the forest ...- Colorado Leaving the Pac-12 for the Big-12?
Colorado AD Rich George recently pledged allegiance to the Pac. However, when it comes to geography the B12 would make sense for CU. BTW - CU does play Nebraska OOC this season but Nebraska is in the B1G (only non-AAU accredited B1G member school) and not the B12. Of course, CU used to play ball in the B12. Along with Nebraska, Missouri, and Texas A+M. Nest season add Oklahoma and Texas to the list. The more GK fiddles the more the Pac-10 is at risk of burning down. Will the B1G come with a discounted offer for Oregon and Washington? Perhaps, but the B1G and Fox will not add more teams from the Pac-12 before knowing what the new Pac-10 media deal bottom line is. The B1G is not going to arrive at a number without first knowing the number for Oregon and Washington. The only no-brainer addition for the B1G is Notre Dame. I'm almost certain that USC and UCLA, especially UCLA facing a 'CAL tax' would prefer to see CAL and Stanford going B1G instead of more competitive in football Oregon and UW. I believe Oregon and UW would be welcome by the B12 but who wants to go there? I doubt the Arizona legislature would allow 1 Arizona school to flip without the other. I know Utah wants to stay with the Pac-10. CU is already a tier above CO.ST. and would have no issues with the CO. legislature flipping to the B12. The Pac-10 could replace CU with San Diego State and not miss a beat.- College Football 2023 Playoff Outliers - You're Saying There's a Chance?

There are 432 D3 programs playing college football. The majority do not want to see the game shortened, they want to keep in place the stop-the-clock after 1st down rule. Does little old D3 have the power to stop the change in clock timing rules? Does the Bowdoin College Polar Bear speak? Angst increasing over college football clock stoppage rule creating inequity across NCAA divisions - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Cutting plays may be key to the future of the FBS, but it's a bane for Division III football- The Pac-12 Goes Bowling
Below is 247 Sports, Via Ducks Wire, projection for the bowls Pac-12 teams will play in at the close of the 2023 regular season. Again, it's much too early but it is a long off-season, right? The Ducks Wire bowl projections are also displayed below. Oregon Football: 247Sports picks PAC-12 bowl game matchups. DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Even though there are 4 months before the college football season, it’s never too early to look at what Pac-12 bowl game matchups could look like. 2 trips to Texas for Puddles? This would be disappointing IMO. The conference needs to send its second or third-best team to a better bowl game within the conference footprint. Alamo Bowl? What sense does it make to reward one of your best teams with a trip deep into the heart of B12 country? I think that the Las Vegas Bowl should be where the conference's number 2 or 3 team is sent. Of course, once the playoff expands in 2024 The B1G/Pac-12 relationship with the Rose Bowl is likely to come to a close. I believe that come 2024 the first two rounds of playoff games should be played on campus. I also believe that come 2026 the top four champions will not receive a first-round bye. Last season, Clemson was blown out by Tennessee in its bowl game, and Utah was not competitive against Penn State in the Rose Bowl. Neither team deserved a first-round bye. In my opinion, it's time for the College Football Playoff to stop trying to serve two masters. Run a playoff without regard to the bowls. Bowl games are a tradition and in no way are the bowls vital to the playoff. I'd like to see all games played on campus up to the championship game. Weather concerns could be dealt with by playing games, if necessary, in the dome closest to the higher seed's campus. 247 has the Pac-12 out of the playoff and thus out of the Rose Bowl. The Rose Bowl is a playoff semifinal site. Thus, 247 putative Pac-12 champ Washington (BOO!) is projected to go to the Fiesta Bowl with USC returning to the Cotton Bowl. I do think the 2023 Pac-12 title will come down to Oregon, USC, and Washington. USC has the advantage of playing both Utah and UW in LA while Oregon has to trip to Seattle and Salt Lake City. I also believe that with the depth of the conference 7 and not 8 teams will go bowling. In addition to home games against top conference opponents, the conference gave SC a second idle week the week before the championship game. You can't make this stuff up.- Helmet/Uniform Question
Great to see you here and a great post. Unfortunately, I have to duck the great question. I have no idea what the answer is but many folks on this board are more steeped in Oregon lore than I. - Has Lanning Fixed the Duck Defense’s Soft Underbelly?
