  1. I agree that the SEC is deeper than the B1G. But which schedule would PSU and Indiana play? The Mizzou/Texas schedules or the Georgia/Bama schedules? Indiana had one common opponent with Texas, both defeated Michigan. And which team would show up? Georgia at Ole Miss or Georgia at Texas? Bama vs. Tennessee, Vandy, or Georgia? Ole Miss vs. Georgia or Ole Miss vs. Kentucky? Texas vs. Oklahoma or Georgia? I do not see a consistently elite team in the SEC in 2024. This is the case for most of CFB with the possible exceptions of OBD and Ohio State. However, both Oregon and tOSU have struggled in 2024. It will be interesting to watch the games if both the B1G and the SEC put four teams into the PO. How will SEC teams perform in the North in the post-season? A question B1G fans have asked for decades. A White Out in a possibly literal whiteout in December in Happy Valley will not be easy for any team, SEC or otherwise. With 5 of the PO games being played in Dixie, advantage SEC. I reiterate. To date, no team is being PO-hosed over more than the Athens Dawgs. Best of luck today with UMass. 😁
  2. Atticus, is that you? 😁
  3. Friends CalBear + 30, Texas has the same number of wins vs the Committee's Top 25 as Indiana and it has one more loss than Indiana. The SEC is deeper but the SEC will have nine fewer losses than the B1G until it plays 9 conference games. This Saturday sees games vs. UMass, UTEP, and THE CITADEL! In a 14-week season, these games = a third Off Week late in the season. Mizzou is 23 simply because it's in the SEC. Mississippi State, Kentucky, Florida, and LSU aren't all that. Not every SEC game is a battle of behemoths like never witnessed before. I kind of get the SEC playing 8 but the ACC? And I get SCOREBOARD. The SEC has earned its football field bona fides. 8 games have the potential to result in utter champ game chaos. Make It So!
  4. Move Over Tubes! Only Washington D.C. could view the underdog story of the Indiana Hoosiers as a problem SPORTS.YAHOO.COM Indiana barreling into a late November game with Big Ten title and playoff stakes on the line should be held up as a reason why college football is better because of NIL and the transfer portal.
  5. I just checked in with Pee Wee, Tiny Tim, and Gilbert Gottfried who all disagree with McShade. A McShade sighting? Who knew? 😁
  6. The B1G Champ game is in a dome in 2025, 2026, 2027, and 2028 when the game moves from Indy to Las Vegas. But Midwest home games could get nasty. As could a game in Eugene in December. I played games in the snow growing up in New England. No one died. It was FUN. All CFB players would have been happy to be in the NFL and playing ball in Cleveland last night. I have to disagree with you here, my friend. These are Football Players. I think games in tough conditions are perfectly acceptable and to be expected.
  7. B1G Whoop. No one knows what the landscape of CFB will look like come 2031. It could be that the Power 2 will have scavaged Notre Dame and ACC/B12 teams of interest, and the Power 2 will collectively go to the media marketplace and/or move the games to Venu. Venu was not formed on a whim. And today's antitrust issues could be gone before 2031, especially with the change in Congress. Who needs a PO when you can play a CFB World Series? Who needs to share the $ with weaker conferences? Do I like this? Not especially but Size goes to Size in business and I think something like the above is inevitable; especially, if the House settlement is approved. How many programs will be able to step up to $20M+ a year in direct payment to athletes?
  8. Will it be Cig or Chip who Wins The Day on Saturday? Big Ten football: Indiana’s Cignetti backing up words in historic season SATURDAYTRADITION.COM No one saw the Hoosiers' rise coming -- except, apparently, their 1st-year head coach, who has IU on the cusp of a CFP berth ahead of the biggest game in program history.
  9. Greg Sankey, Serenading for the SEC? Who knew (except the folks in Tallahassee. 😁) 🫣🤣🥲 You Go, Greg! And with the conference so deep from top to bottom it won't be upsetting when Kentucky beats Texas, Auburn beats A+M, the Cowbells beat Mizzou, and Florida swamps Ole Miss, Right? I do think Georgia will survive UMass and the Vols will take down UTEP. 😊
  10. So nice to sit back, relax, and watch the Hoosiers/Buckeyes battle for the right to play OBD on 12/7/24. 😍 Breaking down Oregon Ducks Big Ten Championship opponent scenarios in play this weekend” WWW.YARDBARKER.COM Oregon fans will get to sit back worry-free this weekend and watch the rest of the college football landscape unfold knowing their Ducks are the No. 1 team in the country and have already...

How a high school quarterback may cost Brian Kelly his job at LSU SATURDAYBLITZ.COM It’s been a tough stretch for Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers, and the frustrations are starting to boil over. 13. Recruiting and player development matter, no doubt. But in today's CFB you also have to be a primo portal picker with the alchemy skills to blend in the newbies. SEE: FSU in 2023 compared to the Seminoles in 2024.😧 Who knew that OBD would bring in the better Uiag? 😍 Thank goodness for Burch, Harmon, Chadwell, and the DBs who Danno and Division Street scored. Send UWho to Shreveport!
  14. Down their two best OL guys, but Scarlet + Game thinks everything will go the Buckeyes way. Three bold predictions for Ohio State football vs. Indiana SCARLETANDGAME.COM The Ohio State football team is getting ready to take on another top-five opponent on Saturday afternoon. We give you some bold predictions for the game. Indiana will be Ohio State's 3rd game vs. a Top 5 opponent this season. No one will remember Brutus' visit to the OOC cupcake factory. Why is tOSU opening vs. Texas next season?
  15. Don't Forget the Hand Warmers and Long Johns. Ohio State football vs. Indiana weather forecast SCARLETANDGAME.COM The Ohio State football team will play another top-five team on Saturday. Unfortunately, the weather won't be as pristine as it has for every other game. It's nice the stadium in Indy is enclosed. It snowed down in Cleveland last night for the Browns/Steelers game. The weather for a few 1st round PO games could be very interesting with Indiana, Penn State, and Ohio State potentially hosting games. 😵 I was married to Wife Uno for 25 years. But it felt like 50 with The Wind Chill Factor. 😁
  16. Out of the Blue! With a lot of Green on the side. 😁 Michigan vs. Northwestern Football Complete Preview WWW.MAIZENBREW.COM Jared and Andrew are back with a reaction to five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood’s commitment and a complete preview of Northwestern and Michigan’s fight for bowl eligibility: They're amped in Ann Arbor and this should be Bowl-Eligible Saturday with a visit from NO. Western. Looks like Michigan and its NIL Collective 'Get It.' It's easier to convince a recruit to be a Michigan Man if you show him the money. NIL collective Champions Circle releases statement after Michigan flips five-star QB Bryce Underwood WWW.MAIZENBREW.COM Landing the commitment of 2025 five-star QB Bryce Underwood would not have been possible without Michigan’s NIL collective, Champions Circle. 17. Georgia defeated Texas? I don't believe They've Heard This Through the Grapevine.😁 Terrific article. Great to have more detail regarding the D Danno is installing in Duck Territory. Signing day will soon be here, December 4th, and the Portal opens shortly thereafter. It Never Rains on Danno's recruiting process. A process he learned from two master recruiters before going Westward Ho! Thanks Charles, Waste Washington!
  18. Great take. But when you are the lead sled dog ... Everyone is out to pluck the Duck's feathers. Especially, the crew in Columbus. 😁 Bring It On! Speaking of sled dogs, Husk the Fuskies!
  19. Brian Kelly did himself no favors with his temper often on display during the season. Kelly brought in a new DC from Mizzou and made him the highest-paid assistant in CFB. The D is still in the middle of the pack. The win vs Ole Miss was Lucky. The loss to SC, the 2nd half at A+M, and last Saturday's no-show at Florida have Kelly on thin ice with Tigers fans. As we know, SEC fans and administrators are not known for their patience.😁 Along with a pile of money, I'm certain that the Michigan recruiters were in Underwood's ear regarding the issues with Kelly. Michigan had a QB drafted in the 1st round in 2023. Sherrone Moore, now the HC was McCarthy's OC. The young man has the opportunity to be a hero in his home state, play in an NFL-like system, and make B1G bank at the same time. No offense to LSU but if the young man gives a wit, he will earn a more valued degree in Ann Arbor than he could in Baton Rogue. Harbaugh's late departure last season put Michigan in a portal-picking bind. The QBs who could have helped the Wolverines had portaled-out by the time Jim decided to go to LA instead of fighting with the NCAA. This is a terrific get by Moore, could help save Moore's job, and may be the straw that breaks Kelly's back at LSU. If Kelly is bought out expect LSU to send a Brinks truck to Lane Kiffin's address in Oxford, MS. Of course, with signing day around the corner and the opportunity to enter the portal arriving shortly after signing day, this is not a great time to fire a coach. This is a win for Michigan and also a B1G in-your-face to the SEC. 😍
  20. AMEN! Like a 4th Q drive in the Rose Bowl to tie the game with Bama before winning in OT. One of the best drives in the history of CFB.
  21. RELAX. I, for one, appreciate your participation and your opinions. Respectful disagreement is fine. How can anyone have a definitive opinion on PO rankings when they are all subjective? Last season, the champ played dog meat OOC. Ditto if Ohio State wins it all this season. And OBD? Not one P4 opponent OOC but one heck of a G5 opponent. Who knew? It isn't perfect in the NFL, but it is far closer to perfect because this Sunday, no NFL team is playing The Citadel, UMass, UTEP, or Wofford. Every team plays the same number of League games. What a novel concept. We are probably headed to NFL-Lite but let's all enjoy this while we have it to enjoy and angst about. DYER's Knee Was Down!
  22. Thank you, Grandpa Duck For Starting a Timely and Multi-Million Dollar Post. And thanks to Forum Folks who have expressed their thoughts on this topic intelligently and civilly. We are not back in the day when the B1G Poohbahs would not allow the B1G champ to go to Back-to-Back Rose Bowls. Too professional don't you know? Look at today's Playoff payouts and what it means to CFB conferences; it is no longer a colloquial discussion concerning the Eight teams playing in the post-season. Search the College Football Playoff Site and confirm that MILLIONS of dollars are at stake. (You can Google It?😁 ) Colleges are on the cusp of direct payments to their 'Student-Athletes.' This presents a new financial calculus for college athletic departments. SEE: Rob Mullens's recent letter asking for OBDers to step up. Even the Athletic Departments in the Black today, like OBD, will have to find new sources of cash flow. You simply cannot hide behind closed doors in a boardroom in Texas and say: 'This is what we have come up with. Deal with It." Using the Week 13 AP Poll, Here is a 16-team Playoff field based on the vote of 62 folks who have the gumption to reveal their votes. (A metric/algorithm, whatever, would be used to toss the votes of AP 'Outliers.') 16. Colorado at 1. OREGON 9. Ole Miss at 8. Georgia 13. SMU at 4. Penn State 12. Boise State at 5. Indiana --------------------------------------------------------------------- 15. Texas A+M at 2. Ohio State 10. Tennessee at 7. Alabama 14. BYU at 3. Texas 11. Miami at 6. Notre Dame. 6 SEC/ 4 B1G/ 2 ACC + 2 B12/ 1 Independent and 1 G5. An equitable distribution of teams by conference. Yes, there would still be beefs about Texas SOS and Indiana's SOS but the teams with the biggest beefs would be playing ball in the post season. And seeding, especially the seeding of SEC teams with 6 SEC teams in the mix, makes 1st round SEC intra-conference matchups unavoidable. One other thought. How about every conference plays 9 conference games with the 12th game reserved for No. 4 at No. 1 and No. 3 at No. 2 with other games arranged down the line as ranked. The winners meet in the Conference Champ Game. (OK, Team Five would of course be screaming out loud.) Thanks again, 'Grandpa.' I can relate 4x over, thank goodness. Shuffle Off the Fuskies to Shreveport!
  23. Terrific Take, Mike. No surprise. The House Settlements 'requirement' for teams that want to compete at the highest levels to come up with $20M+ in direct payment to athletes every year could seal the deal on what the financials already tell us, the Power 2 could be the only 2 conferences competitive in B1G/SEC Time football. The word is that all B1G/SEC teams are on board with the $20M+, not the case with the ACC and the B12, and certainly not the case for the G5/6.
  24. Heard on B1G Today, today. Since the Oregon Game tOSU safety Denzel Burke has not been stellar. 19 passes defended. 17 receptions, 2 TDs, 2 PBUs. Hmmmmm? 🤫
  25. USC did poach a 5* QB from A+M so it's kind of a push plus. A So Cal kid, Husan Longstreet, who is higher rated than the 'SC commit' headed to CU. If a kid or his agent can read the tea leaves, why go anywhere other than a Power 2 school? Only 4 B12 teams to date have said they are all in on the House Settlement required $20M a year direct payment to athletes. If you don't ante up say goodbye to the B1G and the SEC Boys. UNC, FSU, Miami, and Clemson are good to go in the ACC, but Wake, BC, VA Tech? The Grapevine says that all B1G schools including NW are on board and the same with the SEC including Vandy. At CU, this kid could end up playing in the Pac-12/Mountain West. 😁 The young man's agent is playing CFB checkers and not chess. With rosters capped at 105 and scholarships capped, there is no certainty that there will be room in the P2 Inn if the B12 and ACC fall apart.
