I agree that the SEC is deeper than the B1G. But which schedule would PSU and Indiana play? The Mizzou/Texas schedules or the Georgia/Bama schedules? Indiana had one common opponent with Texas, both defeated Michigan. And which team would show up? Georgia at Ole Miss or Georgia at Texas? Bama vs. Tennessee, Vandy, or Georgia? Ole Miss vs. Georgia or Ole Miss vs. Kentucky? Texas vs. Oklahoma or Georgia? I do not see a consistently elite team in the SEC in 2024. This is the case for most of CFB with the possible exceptions of OBD and Ohio State. However, both Oregon and tOSU have struggled in 2024. It will be interesting to watch the games if both the B1G and the SEC put four teams into the PO. How will SEC teams perform in the North in the post-season? A question B1G fans have asked for decades. A White Out in a possibly literal whiteout in December in Happy Valley will not be easy for any team, SEC or otherwise. With 5 of the PO games being played in Dixie, advantage SEC. I reiterate. To date, no team is being PO-hosed over more than the Athens Dawgs. Best of luck today with UMass. 😁

Friends CalBear + 30, Texas has the same number of wins vs the Committee's Top 25 as Indiana and it has one more loss than Indiana. The SEC is deeper but the SEC will have nine fewer losses than the B1G until it plays 9 conference games. This Saturday sees games vs. UMass, UTEP, and THE CITADEL! In a 14-week season, these games = a third Off Week late in the season. Mizzou is 23 simply because it's in the SEC. Mississippi State, Kentucky, Florida, and LSU aren't all that. Not every SEC game is a battle of behemoths like never witnessed before. I kind of get the SEC playing 8 but the ACC? And I get SCOREBOARD. The SEC has earned its football field bona fides. 8 games have the potential to result in utter champ game chaos. Make It So!

The B1G Champ game is in a dome in 2025, 2026, 2027, and 2028 when the game moves from Indy to Las Vegas. But Midwest home games could get nasty. As could a game in Eugene in December. I played games in the snow growing up in New England. No one died. It was FUN. All CFB players would have been happy to be in the NFL and playing ball in Cleveland last night. I have to disagree with you here, my friend. These are Football Players. I think games in tough conditions are perfectly acceptable and to be expected.

B1G Whoop. No one knows what the landscape of CFB will look like come 2031. It could be that the Power 2 will have scavaged Notre Dame and ACC/B12 teams of interest, and the Power 2 will collectively go to the media marketplace and/or move the games to Venu. Venu was not formed on a whim. And today's antitrust issues could be gone before 2031, especially with the change in Congress. Who needs a PO when you can play a CFB World Series? Who needs to share the $ with weaker conferences? Do I like this? Not especially but Size goes to Size in business and I think something like the above is inevitable; especially, if the House settlement is approved. How many programs will be able to step up to $20M+ a year in direct payment to athletes?

Brian Kelly did himself no favors with his temper often on display during the season. Kelly brought in a new DC from Mizzou and made him the highest-paid assistant in CFB. The D is still in the middle of the pack. The win vs Ole Miss was Lucky. The loss to SC, the 2nd half at A+M, and last Saturday's no-show at Florida have Kelly on thin ice with Tigers fans. As we know, SEC fans and administrators are not known for their patience.😁 Along with a pile of money, I'm certain that the Michigan recruiters were in Underwood's ear regarding the issues with Kelly. Michigan had a QB drafted in the 1st round in 2023. Sherrone Moore, now the HC was McCarthy's OC. The young man has the opportunity to be a hero in his home state, play in an NFL-like system, and make B1G bank at the same time. No offense to LSU but if the young man gives a wit, he will earn a more valued degree in Ann Arbor than he could in Baton Rogue. Harbaugh's late departure last season put Michigan in a portal-picking bind. The QBs who could have helped the Wolverines had portaled-out by the time Jim decided to go to LA instead of fighting with the NCAA. This is a terrific get by Moore, could help save Moore's job, and may be the straw that breaks Kelly's back at LSU. If Kelly is bought out expect LSU to send a Brinks truck to Lane Kiffin's address in Oxford, MS. Of course, with signing day around the corner and the opportunity to enter the portal arriving shortly after signing day, this is not a great time to fire a coach. This is a win for Michigan and also a B1G in-your-face to the SEC. 😍

Last season, the champ played dog meat OOC. Ditto if Ohio State wins it all this season. And OBD? Not one P4 opponent OOC but one heck of a G5 opponent. Who knew? It isn't perfect in the NFL, but it is far closer to perfect because this Sunday, no NFL team is playing The Citadel, UMass, UTEP, or Wofford. Every team plays the same number of League games. How about every conference plays 9 conference games with the 12th game reserved for No. 4 at No. 1 and No. 3 at No. 2 with other games arranged down the line as ranked. The House Settlements 'requirement' for teams that want to compete at the highest levels to come up with $20M+ in direct payment to athletes every year could seal the deal on what the financials already tell us, the Power 2 could be the only 2 conferences competitive in B1G/SEC Time football. The word is that all B1G/SEC teams are on board with the $20M+, not the case with the ACC and the B12, and certainly not the case for the G5/6.

USC did poach a 5* QB from A+M so it's kind of a push plus. A So Cal kid, Husan Longstreet, who is higher rated than the 'SC commit' headed to CU. If a kid or his agent can read the tea leaves, why go anywhere other than a Power 2 school? With rosters capped at 105 and scholarships capped, there is no certainty that there will be room in the P2 Inn if the B12 and ACC fall apart.
