  1. Thanks for posting this article. Cam has incredible perseverance. We all share in the joy of his successes on and off the field. A true man of Oregon.
  2. What a great first! Hard to live up to that, but enjoy that Cal game! Those fans won't be as loud.
  3. The biggest problem with NIL is the lack of clarity and different rules for different states. For instance, no kid should be allowed any conversation about NIL until actually enrolled. So far, the big $$ doesn't seem to be making for a better product on the field. At Oregon, top paid athelete is Sedona Prince. Next is Bo. He's earning his. Next is Justin Flowe. He seems to not living up to his hype. So hopefully, universal rules will help level things out, encourage players to stay another year, and the on field failures will discourage over zealous alumni.
  4. Also, is the Texas O-line earning the $50k each was promised? Seems like the schools handing out cash (see aTm and UT and Miami to name a few) are not doing so well. I'll take the hard working coachable guys any day.. Plus,, seems to me Klemm and Co. have improved our O-line. I'm trusting their evaluation skills until proven otherwise.
  5. Coach has confidence in his process. They not only bring in talented guys, but solid character, hard working guys. Coachable guys. These are the best kind. I believe we will get our blue-chip studs too, but like the man says, can't teach 6'6 and 330!!
  6. I agree totally. Dillingham won't take just any job. Like Lanning, it will need to be a good fit.
  7. Like Dan Lanning, KD will wait for a good opportunity. Not any opportunity. Oregon will increase salary if necessary, but KD will not leave for any program, it will take an ideal opportunity.
  8. It is amazing after reading week 1 comments, to read so many thoughts of Bo staying. He has earned them though. Let me add a couple observations: 1) Bo is taking only 1 class. I don't think he has any desire of a graduate degree. 2) he is currently earning over $400k with NIL. If he can't get more than that in the draft, that could be an influence. And 3) it's hard to improve your draft stock any more when your best season ever is your senior year I believe he will be gone after this year. And I believe Dillingham stays.
  9. I thought last week that this game was going to answer a lot of our questions. And boy, did it ever. My biggest enjoyment is seeing how well the team was coached, from start to finish. Excellent control of the game clock (one delay of game) Great play calling by the offense. Timely use of trick plays. Gutsy 4th down calls. Great design using different alignments on offense. Even better special teams, a perfectly played onside kick! (We do seem to lack a big threat return man) Our first over 40 yd field goal. Our offense kept the Bruin defense off balance the whole game. One minor/major? concern: Linebackers and our defense. We need to get better at containment and coverage. Flowe made a few egregious decisions on his leverage and tackling. Addison played great on his return, maybe he can help out here with increased minutes. Offensively we can hang with anyone. But to win against the top teams, our D needs to improve. We didn't force a single punt, but our offense played so wonderfully, controlling the game clock we got away with it. I'm so excited the coaching was so awesome. It was a big win, but the great, gutsy, timely coaching leaves me so hopeful for the future, I'm almost breathless.
  10. A good listen from someone with a natural east/south bias.
  11. I heard Lanning tell the Baker kid (an o-line recruit) that the Georgia game was his least favorite, but that it gave a positive force to the team by giving them motivation to practice harder and do the work each day. Maybe that spanking in Atlanta was just what we needed. Lots of football left. But, the big goal is still on the table. One week, one game at a time. Go Ducks!
  12. Good write up. We do control our own destiny. Lots of tough football still to go. We keep improving that 1% each week...we will make the playoffs. One week, one game at a time.
  13. Not only class, but he showed some real coaching chops with the play calling and game plan. Looked like he was putting on a clinic!
  14. What say you now about special teams?
  15. I would suggest that the onside kick, together with the 3 - 4th down calls, two in our own end and the other a point in time where we needed at least 3 pts, make for a truly defining moment for our coach Lanning. He truly has the beginnings of being a great head coach!!
  16. Great choice. I hope she brings Grasu with her!
  17. I was wondering this myself. Seems like we are more healthy at the halfway point this year, then any other year in recent memory. I've assumed it was due to training, and seeing how bad UM is doing, clearly must be related. Way to go coach Lanning for bringing in the best staff.
  18. My favorite day of the week (other than game day) is analysis day. Thanks coach for a great explanation. I sure hope we continue to score big in the redzone.
  19. Compared to the past few years our special teams are doing there job, and doing it well. Very high percentage of touchbacks. Zero missed field goals. Zero fumbles on catches. No one coming close to blocking our punts. No problems with long snapper or holding for field goals. Yes, there have been not many great returns. And yes, we seem to give up one long return each game. But so far we haven't been burned. I give our special teams a B+ grade. I'll give an A after our first return for a td or our first 50 yd field goal.
  20. Indeed. He has been a great line coach for years. He has helped many guys get to, and stay at the next level. Plus, he never got many blue-chip studs either. Yeah, couldn't have waited 2 more weeks???
  21. So many times over the years, when we expected a high scoring shootout, it seems just the opposite has happened, low scoring defensive game. This one has all the earmarks of a high scoring affair, so I predict the opposite, at least in the 1st half. 2 predictions: 1) the officiating will be atrocious and have an influence on the outcome. 2) whichever team weathers the poor officiating will win At least 2 questionable targeting calls and a couple p/I calls that leave us going "what"?
  22. Most important defensive stat: Wins!!
  23. I'll stick with my original forecast, don't put unrealistic expectations onto Bo. Run the offense, read the defense. Don't force anything, don't make idiotic mistakes. That's it. And with good fortune, we play for the Pac-12 championship. Anything else is gravy. After that first game, the fact we are even talking like this is amazing. Go Ducks. Take care of UCLA!!
  24. I think the UCLA game will answer most of these questions. This will be coach Lannings biggest test since Georgia. UCLA compares very well to us in offense. Can we slow them down? I think this game will require his best decision making. A real chess match between an offensive guru and a stellar defensive mind. Dillingham will also need to have a great game plan for Bo, who I think is now a proven commodity. Should be a classic match up. I'm glad it's in Autzen.
  25. Charles, I completely agree with you. Using the "eye test", OSU looks better in the secondary. Several times Ward had all kinds of time to throw, and no one to throw to. He was not the same player he was at home against us. However, the Beavs made Caleb Williams look pedestrian also. Maybe there is something in the water... If they had a decent qb I'd be worried, a little. We can stop their run game, making them one dimensional and shut them down. But they sure look good at home.
