Usc was under heavy sanctions due to Bush scandal, including Bowl ban and scholarships pulled. He did Tenn dirty. Won a title as OC under Sabin. Killing it at Ole Miss, 8-2 record, second best in SEC west. Elite recruiter. Has connections in so cal and sec country. Still risky but is a much better coach than MC.

I think you nailed it. MC stays of any other school comes knocking. Aside from Bama.

Was this a successful Duck season? I watched every game. All but a few felt like a lose. Most of the time I was flipping back and forth desperately searching for inspired football. I am glad MC is gone.

Pretty good read from Trojans. Seems that USC is as interested in UO coaching hire as UO is.

MC turned his back on these kids. He should be ashamed. Fine if he wants to go, but these kids deserved better from him.

I don't blame MC for going home and getting a a fat check in the process. However, I could care less about halos or Mario's self-interest. I am a Duck fan and winning is what matters. Not just winning but obliterating the opponent into dust in the process. Mario Cristobal is incapable of coaching players on the roster (not future players) at a level to achieve those goals. Time to move on and get a coach that knows how to coach. MC is not that guy.

One consistent comment about MC week in and week out is his abilities to actually coach. Especially on Saturdays. He is a great recruiter for sure. Oregon got talent they never had before. I think many Duck fans fell in love with MC for that reason. But the truth is that he has never shown a high level of game time coaching ability. His first executive decision in a game was to call time out before the first snap of his first game. All because the opponent wasn't ready. He never really improved from there.

Rob Mullens has Turned UO into a women's basketball school. Ducks are pretty good at women's hoops. Just saying.

I haven't been able to find any confirmation. But either way... Go Ducks!

Heard Oregon put a huge contract in front of MC. Heard it's on par the other contracts signed recently. Possibly 95k-110k. Makes me think Morehead was told his services were not needed. Why else would he leave Oregon for Akron. And "head coaching job" reasoning is garbage.

I don't know that MC is the type to use the "sick mother" excuse. Thats pretty low. I don't like his in game coaching but as a human being he seems pretty legit. If he did it is pretty shameful.

Why would MC sign a new contract the other week? That part doesn't make sense to me. If Mario wants to leave, so be it. Oregon is a good product and will be fine, with or without Cristobal.
