Oregon Will Be Just Fine Without Dante Moore
DUCKED replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I agree…..I would take Bo for 2023, no question about it. But the loss of Moore stings, no matter how we try to spin it. The question…..Will TT be ready if Bo gets hurt? I have serious doubts based on his limited and ineffective performances thus far. I keep hearing about his physical skills, arm strength, etc. But I see TT’s issues as primarily mental. He just never looks comfortable and appears tentative. He’s got to get on the field. Maybe with a little more experience the 5* Ty will emerge. -
QUAAACK! Khyree Jackson is a Duck...Alabama DB Transfer
DUCKED replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Is it really? His stats aren’t very impressive. and, as a senior, he’s had plenty of opportunities to prove himself. -
I don’t think Moore’s trip to LA is about getting some sunshine. He is reconsidering his options, especially since Dilly is gone and it looks like Bo MAY be coming back. He might start right away at UCLA. That and the opportunity to play several games closer to home may be too attractive to turn down.

Wasn’t Williams the overwhelming favorite to win? That’s three Heisman’s for Lincoln Riley in the last six years. He obviously knows how to develop quarterbacks, and quickly. All three were transfers.
-
Yes, it's San Diego and I am going. If you choose to go, make sure you sit on the Pac-12 side of the stadium. It's much closer to the field.

I think Shaw would be a great choice.

Bo Nix: Does This Mean He's Leaving?

I expect him to leave. It makes sense. His stock will never be higher than it is right now. -
Oregon Football: Let’s Pump the Brakes on Trick Plays
DUCKED replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
That play was a head scratcher. And incredibly risky, especially with snake bitten Ty in the game. All he had to do was hand the ball off and instead, it appeared to me, he did a 6 inch lateral instead. Was Ty in the game because, had Nix been in there, it would have been obvious, on that specific play, he would hand the ball off? And what a time to be cute……with your backs to your end zone. -
The previous comparisons to DAT on this forum were, as it turns out, wishful thinking. And I agree with David……where does he fit, considering the transfers who have gobbled up playing time, and have exceeded expectations? A transfer seems likely.

Do you know something we don’t know?
-
I agree on the burst…. But not on the vision. Dye’s instincts are phenomenal.
-
When I read this I could tell something was up. Leaving it up to the player to say when he is ready to play just didn’t sound right. While Cardwell showed promise after an excellent freshman season, he does not have the lateral agility and quickness of either Bucky or Noah, both of whom can find the crease similar to the way Travis Dye did for the Ducks. I expect to see Cardwell transfer.

Is It Possible for Ducks to Reach CFB Playoffs?

If you’re going to lose it’s always better to lose early, even if you get clobbered. -
5 Big Games for Duck Fans to Watch this Week
DUCKED replied to Tandaian's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Oregon’s best, perhaps only, path to the playoffs is for the Ducks to win out, and for USC to go undefeated in the Pac, then fall to Oregon in the championship game. I wouldn’t bet on that scenario. But I see it as the only way the Ducks make the final four. -
No, it’s not just you. The kid is uncomfortable, lacks confidence, and yes, he appears scared to death. He may have a big arm, but there are lot of QB’s with big arms that turn out to be flops. He’s trending that way. Butterfield needs to see the field. He deserves a shot. With Nix running as much as he does, the possibility of injury is a concern. The Ducks need a reliable backup and Thompson clearly is not the guy.
-
Either that, or he’s injured…..yet again.
-
Isn’t SHOUT for the fans, not the players? I think the players, all the players, should keep their heads in the game.
-
I, too, am concerned about Nix’s ability to throw the long ball. But, to me, even more alarming is his decision, twice in the Stanford game, to throw deep into double coverage. Those passes could easily have been intercepted and never should have been thrown. Decision making has always been an issue with Nix, so that is not likely to change. At some point, it will cost the Ducks, unless Nix cleans it up. On a more positive note, Bucky Irving looks like the real deal…..he gets to hole fast, and has great instincts, similar to Travis Dye’s. Bucky has the ability to find a gap and accelerate through, and his lateral movement is impressive. I think that if the Ducks don’t shoot themselves in the foot with penalties and turnovers, they have a legitimate chance to win the north.

Did YOU Like Our Uniforms vs Stanford?
DUCKED replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
The pants should be burned…. -
Chase did not have a wonderful career at UCLA. He was rarely targeted and was frustrated. Chip promised more targets, to keep him, and when that didn’t happen Chase entered the portal. He has proved to be solid, reliable receiver, and an important part of the offense. And, of course, we all wish he had come to Eugene in the first place.
-
“The decision seemed like a simple one.” Agreed. And, if we’re honest, most of us would have done the same thing.

And why will Lanning be gone?
