  1. This to me is the problem with recruiting rankings. The academy's on these circuits act basically as agents for their players. Many of the highly hyped up 7 on 7 plays are flops. 7 on 7 does not truly translate to the real game. One of my favorite quotes from Dan Lanning when being asked about other teams recruiting (last year) was (something like) "We'll see. We're not playing 7 on 7 in this league as far as I know."
  2. I've been a Charger fan my whole life. This collapse was no surprise to me. It seems it is in Charger DNA regardless of what city the are currently representing. I was hoping for a different outcome. But, fully expecting something like this.
  3. You need guys like this to have an effective scout team. This will help the defense when preparing for any team with a running QB. It also can give special teams options on field goals with him as a holder. He will be a true role player for the team on a daily basis. I'm happy for the kid and his family. He will likely be living a lifetime goal of playing for the Ducks. Welcome Brock Thomas!
  4. I said this from day 1. I felt the Rose Bowl should have been our focus in 2022. Very few seemed to agreed.
  5. Dan Lanning and Mario Cristobal couldn't be on farther ends of the spectrum on this. I'm glad DL allows freedom for his staff. But, he definitely could learn to reel it in a little in key moments.
  6. 'A silent killer with great hair': How Justin Herbert helped turn the L.A. Chargers around WWW.ESPN.COM He has always had the strength, but the third-year quarterback had to find another gear to help push a middling team to the playoffs for the first time in five years.
  7. This is exactly who is needed. Welcome to Oregon Jordan Burch!
  8. Yes! A photo gallery with ONLY the best photos would be another incredible gift to this site's members.
  9. Cam is and always will be a TRUE DUCK! With the projection this roster is taking I feel he knew for the betterment of the team it was time to move on. Whether it was his decision or part of the decruitment process we have heard about is beyond me. From his wording I would say he was encouraged to move on... But, not forced to do so.
  10. Smith72 quoted this sentence as well. But, I believe it is something Oregon has ALWAYS had an issue with.. "What impressed me about Georgia when we played them, (and in the national championship game) is how 5-Star players were never on cruise-control." When I think of great recruits (high 4 and 5 star defensive guys) like Noah Sewell and Kayvon Thibodeaux I always remember how many plays they took off. Simply going through the motions with very little effort. Great teams/coaches/systems know how to motivate these players. Oregon has never had this (to my recollection) and this is what I feel will allow our Ducks to make the large step to an elite program. We have had many high energy guys like John Boyett (3 star) and Kiko Alonso (3 star) that rose to the occasion. But, for the most part our highly rated defensive recruits have left me disappointed with their effort.
  11. You ARE correct! My bad. That comment was based more towards Big 12 since that is the conference the Pac always seems to get compared to. But, I did completely brain fart about Clemson.
  12. Georgia 42-17 0 TO's 3 Sacks 281 Passing Yards
  13. We have gained some great Georgia fans on this site. I will be cheering them on as well. Another thing. I REALLY do not want the Big 12 to win a championship before the PAC. Oregon NEEDS to be the first non-SEC/B1G national champion in the playoff era.
  14. As a designer I 100% agree. The example that stands out to me is the Dallas Cowboys. I think their helmet by itself is beautiful. It may very well be the perfect silver. But, the silver of their pants is absolutely horrible and pretty much clashes completely with the helmets. Our ducks designers get it right 95% of the time. But, when they miss... they miss BIG!!!
  15. I do not have any tattoos. But, have zero issues with this one. Hey, coach can I have your wife's #?
  16. After a little research this hire sounds promising. Dante Bartee has ties to the west coast. He went to ASU. Coached high school ball in the Phoenix area, went on to assist at Cal before moving eastward. He seems to have excelled everywhere he has been and is on a fast-track within the coaching community. One of the articles I scanned claims he has ties to the Georgia coaching tree (not exactly sure how). I'm sure coach Lanning knows exactly what he is getting. Seems to be another great young enthusiastic hire.
  17. Yeah, kind sounds like Harbaugh is try to jump ship much like Chip did with the whole Willie Lyles thing.
  18. 100% agree with this. We need the kind of speed that drops jaws. Speed that opposing teams (and their fans) have never seen. Think Devon vs WSU, Barner vs USC, LaMichael vs Tenn, or DAT vs KSU. That kind of SPEED!!!
  19. Birch and/or Lucas would be wonderful gets. Lanning and Co. may be putting a completely different team on the field next year. As long as it is a step forward (which it looks to be) I'll be happy. I'm already excited for some Duck football.
  20. I love live sports. I attend as many games or races as my work and personal obligations allow. But, in the last eight years I have not been able to justify in my mind a bowl game. They just do not mean as much as they used to. PERIOD. Coaching changes, opt-outs, player dissatisfaction with the destination, these all have added to the lack of interest I have in going. I think this is one reason CFB thinks they can get away with these price tags for the championship game. It is the one after season game that all parties are all in and focused. It is the only bowl game left that truly matters. The 12 playoff may change things for me. But, I'm going in very skeptical that it will.
  21. That article also doesn't clarify when the players found out. There was a night and day difference in effort after halftime.
  22. My first thought as well. But, it went a little more specific: "My mom and girlfriend want me to go to OU. But, I'll transfer to UO as soon as we breakup."
