  1. I only saw the last 22 minutes. So they didn't look too bad on offense and the D was locked down. From what I can gather though things were less than stellar in the first half. In the end though Jon, that PI call decided the game. Not only was making any call in that situation just plain bad.......but it was the exact wrong call, as in the replays you could clearly see the Stanford receiver shove Wright to create separation. Coach did make a bad call trying to throw on that 2nd and 18 play though. Wish they would of tried something with some mis-direction around one of the ends on that 2nd down play. That game was a classic case of over refereeing and deciding games and even seasons. Really bad......really bad.
  2. Caught the last quarter and a half of the game after my bike ride. Ducks should be looking at a "W" in this game and being 5-0, even though it sounds from most of you that they played like dog sh@! for the entire first half. That call at the end of the game was atrocious. I can't believe that ref would make that call at that point in the game, it's absolutely unconscionable. That needs to be looked at closer. If any call was to be made it was clearly offensive pass interference. No way you can make calls like that on a final play in a game and keep the sport of football legitimate......period. That was a delegitimizing call, and ref's should know better than to decide a game (and really a season....at least for the Pac 12 having a chance at a playoff) by making a mistake like that douche bag did. The targeting on KT was a bad call too, but it was close so I am not surprised they errored on the side of caution.........but that last PI call on the final play is total b.s. and the Pac 12 referee guild should be looking at it and serving a yellow slip to someone.
  3. Thanks Charles! I sent you an email. Not sure how I will be able to avoid seeing or hearing about a score though, but I will try. Dang in-laws! Always ruining my fun I love mountain biking though, so I shouldn't complain too much.
  4. I have never had luck finding anything but highlights on YouTube. I feel like I remember Charles asking if people were interested in seeing replays. A few weeks ago someone else posted a link to a replay of the Ohio State game. It worked great but I didn't bookmark the site and now I can't relocate it.
  5. Anyone know where I can see a replay of the game later this evening? Hoping to get a replay without knowing the score ahead of time. I don't have DVR capabilities. A link would be much appreciated!! Thanks in advance. I have in-laws that showed up yesterday somewhat unexpected and now I am being guilted into mountain biking during the game.
  6. Herbstreit just made his upset of the week prediction and he is taking Stanford winning over Oregon. Sounds like he has seen too much sketchiness over the past couple weeks and he thinks today is the day the Ducks have a reckoning for their inconsistent play.
  7. My gut says we won't get as many turnovers today as we have been getting so far. So we will need big stops on 3rd down. Especially 3rd and long. For many many seasons the Ducks have struggled to get off the field on 3rd and long (I would be interested to see an analysis of how we rate across the nation for the past 15 or so years on 3rd and long). This fact points to our difficulties on pass defense, both coverage and rush on the passer. That needs to change today or McKee will be slinging first down passes all over the field and dice us up. Allowing 1st downs consistently on 3rd and 10 or more is very dejecting and affects the greater energy of the game. Another huge key to winning today is getting Verdell going. To do that I hope they come out passing early. Somewhat the way they did at tOSU. Come out and pass and throw the Stanford D back on their heels then work the edges with Verdell before pounding between the tackles to put the game away. Looking for Anthony Brown to have a solid game after having his worst of the season last weekend. I don't expect that Thib's will immediately make an impact but towards the end he may start to cause some havoc.
  8. Oregon 31 Stanford 28 2/3/240 Dr. Jekyl or Mr. Hyde???
  9. Yeah, without having post play you live by the 3 ball and die by the 3 ball. When Duarte and Figueroa aren't hitting those long jumpers from beyond the arc there is a high probability of a loss as the outcome for lack of scoring. Case in point there last night against the Beavs, we couldn't break out of the 60's and that doesn't cut it. Credit to the Beavs defense though, they definitely stepped it up and I hope they win tonight. Is it just me or are the Beavs kind of owning us here lately in the major sports programs........ We play 5 more baseball games against them so we will see how that shakes out, but right now they are up 3-2 between football, basketball and baseball, a bit of a tough pill to swallow I must admit.
  10. Didn't get to watch the game but it looks like it was a good one. Glad to see the baseball team somewhat balance out the tough loss that the basketball team took. I am getting more and more excited about the offense. Baseball is full of highs and lows though, so just hoping they can keep up the hot hitting as we move into the Pac12 schedule. Real happy to see Ahlstrom excel.....he deserves it after some tough luck injuries.
  11. So how many people do you have volunteering to moderate on weekdays at this point? Thinking about it some more I guess it would be better to fill two 6 hour slots per day, rather than three 4 hour slots to cover the 12 hours per day you need to take care of your job. So per week we would be looking at ten 6 hour slots needing to be filled. Theoretically if we could get ten volunteers that would make it easier and might take care of it. Knowing how many people you currently have volunteering would help to know what kind of recruiting is needed to get there.
  12. So far at the Beavs are man handling the Ducks. Real aggressive on the defensive end. Challenging all the Ducks shots and rendering their shooting to the low 40%'s. Will the Ducks come out strong in the second half? Or is this a slump game for them? I wouldn't be surprised if the latter plays out but I hope not. I would like to see them get another game versus USC or Colorado and I hate seeing us lose another game to the Beavs after losing in football and already dropping one in basketball.
  13. Bummer Charles but I totally understand. I would be willing to help moderate for a certain time period on some weekdays. Perhaps if we had enough people volunteer for say 4 hour slots at certain times and on certain days....a calendar of volunteers for instance, then perhaps we could cover it when you're off working. A man's gotta work to eat after all so more power to you!
  14. I didn't get to see the game.......darn Pac12 network . From the box score I am happy to see so many guys get into the action. Curious why Duarte was so quiet though. Hopefully it helped him rest up for big games the next two days.
  15. Yeah, I think so. He looked real good last weekend. Always great to see local guys having success. But I actually see both Ahlstrom and Tellache coming out of the bullpen, unless it's a four game series. The starters in my mind are Fuller, Kafka and Walker.
  16. I think this will be a much tougher game than expected. I don't like that it's at 1130 in the morning either.
  17. Definitely don't like the tone of the article but I do have concern that we may not win the Pac12 in 2021. After losing to the Beavs and Bears last year it's hard to be real confident in what comes next.
  18. I agree, but the thing is we need to be both to compete with the teams that are winning the NC's. Without a potent offense we are in the wilderness when it comes to competing for a NC.
  19. Very strange. These guys are passing the eye test right now, without a doubt. Their last two game films will put plenty of concern into any tournament teams they face at any seed level. Their big issue when it comes time to dance is their lack of size. Sure wish they would of gotten Big Frank some more time. Ducks baseball got snubbed too. They put it to a 7th ranked team in four straight games last weekend. With Yovan and Zavala looking how they do I can see their club being ranked soon. Lotta hate gets thrown out at the Pac-12 and particularly the Ducks.
  20. Here is the bottom line: The pistol is shooting blanks and it has been for several seasons now. We didn't see Moorhead's offense last season. Instead we saw some amalgamation of it mixed with Jim Mastro's baby....aka the pistol. As long as we run the pistol with no real bullets (i.e. Derrick Henry type running back) then we will get what we got last year and many seasons before that. If Herbert is not a tell I don't know what is. It's pretty clear now he labored under the pistol just like we have having to watch it for the past 3 seasons.
  21. This one was never in doubt. They are playing like a team possessed. The ball movement, patience and execution were practically flawless. The Beavs looked like they never thought they could win it.
  22. Yovan and Zavala are on fire. Sure hope they can keep this up for next week against the Beavs. The pitching has been surprisingly solid. Young guys Ayon and Mosiello look really good. This was a great series sweep for these guys. They will be headed to Corvallis with some confidence but the Beavs are incredibly tough. Should be fun to watch.
  23. Agreed. The pistol is shooting duds and should be retired entirely and replaced with similar plays that made DAT a legend.
  24. I used to be amazed in high school ball how physical the girls games seemed to be compared to ours. I have also noticed this in the college game as well. They seriously get after it and give it 110% effort on every play, giving a whole different meaning to hustle. Unfortunately that can also lead to some major contact and play that is plagued by fouling.
