  1. I remember thinking their defense was horrible back in 2011. Then, before I knew it, they had something like a 38-10 lead that the Ducks couldn’t recover from. They’re going to very motivated when they visit Autzen. This one is more worrisome than Utah.
  2. He probably realized that his defense is good enough to get some stops and he can help them out by not putting them in a hole. Patience will be key when playing Utah. If he can keep their offense in check like UCLA and Beavis did then the chances of winning are really good. If Riverboat Dan makes a return then the Utes could get a freebie or two.
  3. When I was in college (small D2 school) we dreaded film review worse than anything. I think I still have PTSD. We reviewed the game film on Mondays, so we had 2 days of dread (win or lose) in anticipation of the impending butt-chewings if we didn’t play up to standard. Our HC was an old school guy who played for Arkansas in the 50’s and he didn’t tolerate mistakes very well. But, if you showed a lack of effort, real or perceived, then it was 10 times worse. If one of us did what WSU’s #8 did then our HC would rewind the play no less than 10-15 times, so we had to watch it over and over. All this while going on a tirade. We would be accused of everything from looking for our girlfriends or parents in the stands to not caring about the game or just flat out cowardice. The message was if you’re going to do something stupid then do it at full speed. Afterward, we would practice and it would be on to the next opponent. Great memories. When my old teammates get together we still do imitations of our old coach tearing us a new one.
  4. Matt Lubick was the OC after Frost left. Ludwig was OC from 2002-2004. I don’t remember the Ducks offense being too terrible during that era. They beat some good teams back then and had a pretty good game against Michigan in 2003 if I don’t remember correctly. Not so much against WSU, though. I can see why they canned him after 2004. No bowl game that year.
  5. Sure, it took them a while to get going, but the only guy I saw sleeping out there was Devin Richardson (#8 for WSU) before Herbert trucked him. I can only imagine how the film review will go for him on that play
  6. Hopefully, the result will be better this upcoming weekend.
  7. UNC fans emptied the stadium before the Heels even started their last drive. They had a chance to go down and win the game with plenty of time on the clock. That’s why the fan experience is so bad in Chapel Hill. It ‘s a basketball school that dabbles in football. .
  8. UNC goes down to 1-5 UVA. They’ll drop out of the top 10.
  9. UNC losing to UVA. I can’t believe Mack Brown went for it on 4th down instead of taking the easy FG. Both teams can’t quit shooting themselves in the foot.
  10. It’s tough to gauge Utah’s run defense since USC’s RB’s is nothing more than a figurehead.
  11. I figured most of us are tuned in, so it might be a good idea to have a thread about this game. My only comment is USC’s crowd is minuscule for a ranked team with only one loss. Oh, and it might be a shootout.
  12. 1815? Well, it seems that Johnny Horton needs a history lesson. He stated that in 1814 we took a little trip along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip’. Apparently, there was bacon, beans and an alligator involved in this event.
  13. The Ducks lost in SLC to Utah in 2018 by a score of 25-32. The last team to win at Rice-Eccles was USC in 2020.
  14. Last year was their first season in FBS and they would’ve played in the Sun Belt CG, but first year teams are automatically ineligible for conference championships. The Sun Belt is no joke. They have a lot of ranked teams and JMU beat App State and Coastal Carolina. They’re a team to be reckoned with.
  15. I got rid of cable and I mainly use IPTV. It just requires an internet connection and a smart TV for the app. I pay $14 a month for 3 devices. I get about 10K channels which includes movies, all sports (ESPN, FS, B1G, PAC 12, etc.)and entertainment channels and live TV which means every network channel in all major US cities. So, if I want to watch Chargers/Broncos I can tune into the CBS Los Angeles affiliate or the Denver affiliate. I also get the UFC PPV fights for free which is an added bonus.
  16. We Americans love our regional beers. I remember thinking Henry’s was the best thing going when I was in my early 20’s. I had a buddy from Pittsburgh who swore by Iron City beer. He would bring a case or two back to the West Coast for us to drink. It was decent but nothing great. But, he was proud of it because Iron City marketed themselves as the blue collar sports fan’s beer. One of the potential great things about going to the B1G is going to away games and experiencing the regional beers and foods.
  17. It’s basically just an amber lager. Nothing too impressive. It’s not sold west of Kansas and Oklahoma. If you make it to the East Coast make sure to try one. If only for the reason that it’s the oldest brewery in the U.S.
  18. I like grilled meat as much as anyone, but if I’m arriving the day of the game then I’ll usually stop and get fried chicken and sides from Popeyes or Bojangles. I just stick with Miller Lite or Yuengling as far as beer goes. I’ll also have a bit of bourbon sometimes if the weather is a little cooler.
  19. The new Nike throwback collection just came out for retail purchase, soI think they’re wearing these for Homecoming this weekend.
  20. I like the bar. It has a lot of good drink possibilities.
  21. Yep. I went to college an hour from there. Gotta love the “Ark-La-Tex” It’s a mix of Hogs, Tigers, Sooners, Aggies/Horns fans. Every one of them has a superiority complex. They hate the PAC 12 because USC and Oregon were making moves on their talent pool.
  22. I usually don’t have a problem watching but I will flip back and forth to watch a better matchup if it’s on during the same time slot. This weekend I’m going to Williams-Brice to see the Gamecocks/Gators, but I’ll try to keep up with the Ducks on my phone. Every now and then I like to leave the house to see a live CFB game….and tailgate. I actually live closer to Chapel Hill and would love to see the Heels/Canes, but the UNC football atmosphere is akin to Cal and Stanford. It’s hard to believe that they are the same fans that fill the Dean Dome.
  23. I had this game pegged as a loss from the beginning of the season, so: 38-42 Washington 0 TO’s 2 Sacks 257 passing yards
