  1. Thank you for posting this! Great listen for sure. I for one am glad to hear Joel give Oregon some kudos and admit that he (an many of his fellow commentators) wrote Oregon off immediately and they were wrong to do so!
  2. ESPN GameDay, Top-10 matchup, Top notch facilities, Autzen crowd. Could a recruit ask for anything else? The atmosphere in Autzen yesterday was UNREAL!! It was the loudest I have ever experienced and it never let up! I know everyone in my section took credit when UCLA had a false start. The electricity and buzz in the crowd could have powered the lights! I can't imagine being a recruit on that field, unable to hear your own thoughts, and feeling in your core the support and love of the crowd. What a day to have some visits.
  3. Front page of ESPN College Football website. Beautiful pass, beautiful catch, and some wicked uniforms!!
  4. THAT is what frustrates me the most. Georgia and Tennessee play on November 5th. How far will either one drop?? Certainly not out of the top 10. Bama plays Ol Miss in Nov 12th. Who do you root for? Bama to get a second loss or Ol Miss to get their first?? Of course, all these brain tickles imply that Oregon finishes with a single loss, so I guess focusing on what the Ducks can control is th most important. Win out and they may have a legit chance at th CFP. You will end up with a Big10 team with one loss (Michigan or Ohio State), a couple SEC teams with one loss, so it is certainly a possibility. But, UCLA comes first.
  5. Another weekend in the Pac-12 and another day of chaos...Bama lost but it was to #6 Tennessee...how far will they drop compared to USC losing to #20 Utah. Until the Pac-12 gets a completely dominant team that blows through the conference, we won't get a single break...Ole Miss, Georgia, and Tennessee are undefeated. Alabama won't drop out of the top 10 and you still have Michigan, Ohio State, and Clemson there. The competitive side of me loves that on any weekend in the Pac-12, any team can beat anyone... Cal knows that now...but the playoff part of me (until they expand it) hates how the Pac-12 cannibalizes itself. Oh well, I DO LOVE great games!
  6. I would venture to say it is both for this reason. Dilly's scheme causes defenses to constantly assess their fronts. This was something that I found myself watching a lot in the Arizona game. I again give credit to Yogi Roth because he actually pointed this out several times on the broadcast. When Oregon has success running the ball, Arizona's defense adjusted to put more guys in the box. Dilly would then have a screen or slant sent up and defeat the defense. Defense goes back to 6 or 7 in the box, Oregon runs the ball. The major exception to this was Whittington's run. All Arizona defenders were within 7 yards of the LOS, Whittington just had the speed and acceleration to defeat it. Dilly's scheme is why Bo is having such a great season. He was at ease in the pocket because he could see what the Arizona defense was doing and knew exactly how to beat it. Klemm's development is allowing the O-Line (and TE's) to be more than in-the-box blockers. They are getting out into space on pulls and the TE's are working sometimes almost as FB's. The athleticism for that is reminiscent of Chip Kelly O-Line's but with more attitude and beef.
  7. It would be an interesting conversation with the DB to see what went through his mind when he realized the lights were being blocked out by an offensive lineman eclipse!!
  8. One way to look at this is that the Ducks are the highest ranked one-loss team!
  9. I have a firm belief in recognizing what people do well and while I am not a MC fan, he did something very well at Oregon: The Offensive Line. I am not talking about scheme or play calling, I am talking about the guys he brought in and coached up. I have to give credit to MC for one player who has been HELLA impressive: Alex Forsythe. This guy has developed into one of the best centers I've watched come out of Oregon. He has been a tremendous asset to the O-Line for the last couple years but this year is different. With Dilly's offense, his skill set is on full display and I predict it will benefit him greatly in the eyes of some GMs at the next level. Nowhere was this more evident than Bo's longer TD run. And I credit Yogi Roth for calling this out and giving props to Forsythe because I may not even have noticed it. On this screenshot, the play has started and right in the center, you can see #78 getting out of his stance so quick that the bottom WR hasn't even taken his first step yet. As the play begins to develop, 'ol #78 is beating the WR's down the field and the Arizona DB is about to have a very forgettable series (that's called foreshadowing in literary terms). Bo is beginning his run to the outside and Forsythe's athleticism is on clear display That poor Arizona DB is about to know what it feels like to be road-graded. Contact is made at the Arizona 22. In a matter of five yards, Forsythe has destroyed the DB's opportunity to even be a factor in the play. We know the outcome. And look who is the second person to congratulate Bo on the play.... So, thank you Mario for your development of guys like Forsythe. I give full credit to Dilly for allowing the abilities of our offensive lineman to be on display, but Mario recruited a bunch of these guys and so I respectfully give him the credit for that. But, y'all know that a pulling center would NEVER have been part of the Mario's offense!!! I mean, that's just NASTY!!! I have watched this clip multiple times and every time it brings a smile to my face thinking of how much fun Forsythe must have had getting out and taking on a DB instead of just battling the big uglies down in the trenches!!
  10. Let me start by saying I am not a quarterback developer or whisperer of any kind (unless you count coaching up kids in youth football...that 5/6 grade team we had could beat anybody...at the 5/6 level). At any rate, these are my observations: 1. TT has changed his physique tremendously since arriving at Oregon. If you saw any of his HUDL videos, he did not have the muscle mass that he has now. 2. His throwing motion is being honed as well, more fluid and compact.. 3. It takes time for a combination of more muscle mass and change in throwing mechanics to become natural. 4. He is not being asked to improvise or read a defense when he goes in. He runs the play provided just to get the reps. When I watched his high school highlights, TT exceled at improvising. When you are that great of an athlete in high school, you can get away with that. At the college level, you may/will be facing kids that are as talented as you and your improv doesn't have the same effect. I think what we are seeing is the coaching staff getting him used to being comfortable in running set plays and not constantly looking to take off and improvise. That will be needed at times, but he has to get used to reading a defense based on the play call and deciding that yep, I'm sticking with it or no it's time to run something else. Add in that he is on a second coordinator and is continuing to learn Dilly's system. Is he ready to replace Bo, no he isn't. I had to agree with the announcing crew yesterday when they were talking about DTR's development. He is playing at a very high level right now and that is due to learning the system and being patient. The DTR now is nothing like the DTR several years ago who could single handedly win/lose several games. The big question is if TT will be patient enough with the system and not immediately decide to transfer. If he stays, he WILL be that tremendous QB that we all think he can be. I firmly believe that the growth we will see in him from this year to next will be exponential. All you have to do is look at the difference in Bo.
  11. Mario has a new name on the Hurricane fan boards... Mario Frost!! Can't make this stuff up!
  12. Anyone else a little surprised by the first half score of the UW-ASU game?? ASU is 1-4 and they are up 24-17. Maybe UW isn't as good as was thought?? That couldn't be true right? I asked a Husky fan and they said UW is soooo much better than everyone else so I dunno what's going on.
  13. I just watched Miami go 4 and out from 1st and goal at the one...and then they gave up a 98-yard drive for a touchdown to North Carolina. That followed a 95-yard drive from North Carolina. It seems like someone needs to step in and rescue Mario from himself. I know, I know...he don't coach here anymore...but sometimes you just wanna watch the wreck if you know what I mean.
  14. All of Oregon's opponents miss Cristo-ball too.... They did film study and defensive planning for 1/2 hour on Monday morning and then had shave ice and BBQ the rest of the week.
  15. David Shaw had made a formal complaint to the PAC-12. Apparently, Bo Nix is STILL running through his defense and he wants it to stop.

  16. First UW game I have watched. Their secondary is suspect, but their front guys are stout. Their offense looks very anemic, Penix Jr seems to be really pressing and going off leash. DTR is having on those games where he looks great for the most part. He's playing with a lead and won't have to force too much at this time.
  17. "Attitude reflect leadership" -Remember The Titans
  18. No one ever threw a curve at Bo Jackson...they were all fastballs that tried to get away from his bat.
  19. *Sorry folks, I didn't realize the article was already posted. Here is my $0.02* This a great piece on Bo to this point in the year. I was as skeptical as anyone when he joined the Ducks, but now firmly believe he is a true leader of this team. I watched the end game celebrating on the live cast and saw both Butterfield and Thompson congratulating Nix with excitement. They were treating him as an older brother and I can only imagine what his leadership means to their development. People may point at the pick six and say, "yeah, but he still did that", and I would agree with them. A leader accepts a mistake, learns, and finds a way to climb back into the fray. How many of you think anyone not named Mariota or Herbert (with an adequate play caller) would have had the poise and command to get that win? I am not ready to put him in the Heisman talk, but I am ready to say he deserves to be QB1, I firmly believe that! Oregon Football: A conversation needs to be had about Ducks’ QB Bo Nix DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Bo Nix has been far and away better than expectations at Oregon. It’s time that fans start giving him the credit...
  20. He reminds me a bit of Jeff Maehl...not super flashy but he finds a way to be where he needs to be and he has good hands.
  21. There are fans saying the QB SHOULD transfer to salvage his career!!
  22. Miami plans to turn the season around with more physicality! In the meantime, I need a Xanax after the Ducks game!!!
  23. Here are some U fan thoughts on the game:
  24. I was just gonna ask if anyone was watching that game. The forum boards are not happy with the play calling, TAMU has four starting DB's out and Miami is not attacking that...run up the middle, short pass, run up the middle. Such a difference with Dan Lanning and Kenny D!!
