Now it's time to put the Beavs out of their misery and drop a couple more TDs on them. -

I am about to the point where I think the odds on a Las Vegas slot machine might be better than a Duck field goal attempt. -

You totally nailed it. I had to replay that a couple times and that was absolutely a total Heisman moment. Just amazing. -

I can't imagine the voices he is fighting in his head. -

Will the Oregon Ducks Face Michigan in the Rose Bowl?
Desert Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Is there new speculation about Lanning that I haven't heard about? -
You certainly may be spot on regarding TT. He more than has the talent that, and that is unquestionable. If I remember correctly, Danny O'Neil was quite unimpressive one year, and then between seasons, something happened and he came back and looked all pro. TT has looked rather good in the limited amount of PT he has had. I certainly hope he is amazing next year. But it sounds like we're going to try to bring in another stud QB to give him a run for his money, which is the smart thing to do.

What's funny is that 89% of us based that opinion on Bo's heretofore performance. I think almost everyone knew that Bo had the ability to be a great quarterback, but he had not consistently proven that prior to Oregon. It's not everyday that in about 8 months a person can virtually do a complete 180° and perform at the level Bo has over the past 15 months. Obviously, this is a credit to the person and mind that Bo is/has... But also huge props to our coaches who saw and believed in the potential that Bo had, which was obviously residing just below the surface. And yeah, not surprisingly, 100% of us are now singing Bo's praises. That sorta tends to happen when a guy, over the past 15 months, provides your program with a 20-4 record... including a bowl win, and now has us on the edge of the college football playoffs (who by the way was injured during the last 4 games of last season). But if you're suggesting that our initial skeptability was unwarranted, well then, that's just unreasonable.

"Unhinged Husky" Nothing like a little redundancy Sad that this Fuskie, while fly fishing on one of the most beautiful rivers anywhere, can't manage to control his latent Husky insecurities. Your reply was very well played. And I'm thinking that he knows that he'd better milk that 36-33 score while he can... because if all goes according to plan, in 9 days, he'll be singing a much different tune.

You're absolutely right that Williams will be drafted as one of the top five picks. However, if I am an NFL GM, and while I would have to pick him, I'm still concerned about his mental ability to lead. Over the past 100 years, USC has only had 4 seasons where they went 1-5 in their last 6 games. One of these 1-5 season ending meltdowns is this year. Williams certainly has the talent to be a Hall of Fame NFL quarterback. But I'm just not quite sold on him yet.

I ended up going to this game with my grade school friend's father. He is a great guy and it's such a fond memory. In fact, you've reminded me that I need to reach out to him and say hello. Not to mention that it was just one heluva game for all of the reasons you mentioned and more. But Masoli trucking that Beaver over and into tomorrow, is still the one that jumps out to me the most.

Okay... that's just awesome right there. And yes, I miss him too.

Uh-oh... The conflict is strong in this one I don't mean to be assumptive, but by looking at your OBD board name, it appears that you are a Canadian Duck who may be struggling with subconscious, or perhaps, semi-conscious Beaver tendencies. Plus, depending on your lineage, there could be some latent genetic Beaver DNA factors as well. Consequently, your pre-programmed psyche-protective apparatus (i.e., such Freudian psychological defenses as dissociation, denial, displacement, or projection) is attempting to intervene to allow you to temporarily alleviate your intolerable distress. And it should be added that these defenses reside in your unconscious mind, which is another way of saying... gawd forbid, that you might be a mentally repressed Beaver. Sadly, according to DSM-5 Mental Disorders, there is no known cure for this disfunction... but 12-Step programs have helped many. May the Duck Force of goodness & light be with you. -
Lol... got it now. Sorry, but as I've said before, I can be a bit slow at times

My first thoughts were, 'No,' followed closely by, 'Hell No.' And then, I allowed myself to entertain the thought a bit, but I immediately started to realize that I was hearing hot Greek Sirens singing/crying out to me from somewhere off the coast of Naples, or maybe it was Catalina Island. But I slightly digress... My best suggestion regarding Williams is that we follow the lead of Odysseus, stuff serious loads of wax in our ears, followed by tying ourselves to the flagpole outside of Autzen Stadium. So, I guess if I bottom-line it, Williams is a hard no for me.

With Bo, I don't recall hearing concerns about his emotional stability, need to leap into the stands and into his mommy's lap crying after a big loss, or painting his lovely fingernails. But if by similar you mean that they both play the QB position, then sure.

Just for the record, I'm not remotely backtracking on my "Right now, the Ducks can beat any team in America." I suppose, though, that I do have a few superstitious tendencies at times though. However, I think that we both know, that on any given day, our Ducks can beat anyone right now. And if they continue with the one-game-at-a-time focus and mentality, I think they have a great shot at winning 4 more consecutive games. I'd love to go to the game in Las Vegas. Especially, since my last time there we got manhandled... strike that, downright abused, by Utah. Unfortunately, we have a client commitment that weekend, so I'll be watching it on a big screen that has my name on it. But I hope you can make it.
