  1. He has a very good take. Either our O-line does a quick 180° turn come Saturday, or we're in a heap of trouble.
  2. After all of these decades later, this still just cracks me up.
  3. In the past 5 years, after tossing out last years Portland State game, we haven't exactly had strong opening season games. We lost 2 of these games (okay... got slaughtered in one of them), beat Fresno State by a TD, and reasonably handled Stanford. Right now, I am seriously very grateful that we did not open the season against BSU. I'm afraid we'd be 0-4 against them if we had. To me, it was really an odd game, and this is quite apparent when you look at the team stats. OBD dominated them across the board, including a 3rd down conversion rate of nearly 50%. Most of you guys know a lot more than about the game than me, but it seems to me like a lot of the issues are quite fixable. The great thing is that this Saturday provides OBD the opportunity to set the record straight, while also exercising our 0-3 BSU record at the same time. We shall find out in 5 days if the off-season kool-aid was worth drinking.
  4. One other positive about last Saturday is that we didn't open up against BSU. Hopefully, the punch OBD took from Idaho was the wakeup call we needed. After once again drinking the kool-aid, I sure hope this is the case.
  5. After Saturday's performance, I think that is generous. But hopefully, we'll see a different team against BSU.
  6. I am not a fan of plagiarism, but I'm going to steal this 🙂
  7. I'm just a very small and spiteful man. Hopefully, I can one day do better.
  8. 3 punts for the game is pretty reasonable.
  9. Check down or not, not too shabby for his first game.
  10. I have no idea what kind of team we actually have. But here is what I do know: Dillon Gabriel is a monster. 40/47 - 85% pass completion - 372 yards - 2 TDs - 0 picks
  11. #11 Idaho is giving us a good run for our money. 😉
  12. This is really a bizarre game. If you take a look at the stats, we have absolutely dominated them in all key categories. But I suppose, that is why the game is actually played on the field.
  13. Sad, but we had to. Right now it's just about living to fight another day. We're getting laughed at right now.
  14. Sadly, if we don't punch it in on this third down play, I think we need to take the three points. Right now, I'm just looking to protect the W and live to fight another day.
  15. And we're 60% on our third down conversions. What a weird game.
  16. I've got to say... I didn't realize Idaho was a Top-10 team.
  17. First Half Gabriel: 23-27, 245 yards, 1 TD The problem is anything but Gabriel.
  18. I just looked and 296 first half yards surprised me. Very impressive. Dillion is 23-27, 245 yards, 1 TD. Highly impressive.
  19. "First game jitters" I'll buy that line of thinking if we come out in the second half and play ball.
  20. What a seriously unexpected, underwhelming, and unimpressive 1st half. Scary that we're playing Idaho and we look like this. Hopefully, the second half will look like the team we were expecting.
  21. Yeah... we got so screwed on that. While Nebraska went on to be a pathetic joke in that game and got throttled.
  22. I will never-ever forget the first play that he called as Oregon's head coach. San Antonio Bowl, and BEFORE the game had even started, dude calls a time out. Both of my sons turned to me and in unison grunted, "Uh-Oh." Truer grunting had never been spoken.
  23. Today, Georgia momentarily gave me PTSD flashbacks to a 49-3 day not that long ago.
  24. If I was an OU fan, while I like the final score last night, I'd be a bit concerned about only converting 1-12 third downs. Against a real team that doesn't turnover the ball 6 times, it will be interesting to see how they do.
