  1. They likely lost the #8 seed and the super regional, but better to lay this egg now than next weekend
  2. It would have been a damn sight better than what happened on 1/1/25. And who knows, maybe Jeremiah Smith, Chip, and the entire defense eat iffy breakfast burritos that morning and the outcome is a whole lot different. Possibly not, but I have to believe the gauntlet tOSU would have had to run to get to the NC would have prepared Oregon better to face them.
  3. If the projections of Oregon as the #8 seed in the NCAA tournament are accurate, then any loss in the B1G tournament might have them slip out of hosting a super regional. Win them all, I say. I agree with the consensus here at OBDF. Pitch the younger arms against MSU and use Grinsell in the must win against Nebraska Friday.
  4. Texas A&M was the #1 seed and got upset by Liberty (that name rings a bell). Oregon at the #16 gets to host the super regional. Take care of business at the Jane and this team gets to Okie City
  5. Yep, rubber match coming right up. Glad that Oregon got the big win today and not Stanfurd. Go Ducks!
  6. Now 15-5 at the end of 6. Following online. Run rule?
  7. That's it, Garcia retires the side with a K to finish. 13-4 OBD B1G champions, top seed Record # of HRs this weekend
  8. 13-4 Ducks after Garate goes yard again in the top of 9. Two dingers in three days, man, he needs to have a pitch nearly take his left index finger off more often. Amazing he can even play, let alone hit like that given the injury.
  9. Great Duck win coming from behind with a combination of big bats and small ball to come back from 3 runs down. My only gripe was pulling Stokes in the 8th when he had the number of the Iowa hitters and was in the groove. Garcia was a bit wobbly at first, then knuckled down and with Mattox, finished it, including a nice put out at first.
  10. Meggers throws out runner at 2nd. Wait..... on review.... He's out! Oregon 5- 3 win
  11. Jason out, Twist in to get the lefty in a deeep flyout to LF for 2 outs and Seth Mattox to get the last Husky standing. More OBD relief arms today than the Kardashians have trust funds.
  12. No Ducks bats. Down 1-2-3 with 2ks and a hard line out to LF by Molony. Three outs to go if #15 can keep them off balance. Gotta be better than this in the tournaments
  13. Jordan gets a short RF fly out that holds the runner on third and whiffs the 3rd out to end what could have been a disaster. Only one run allowed on that debacle, amazing. Go Duck bats
  14. Dang, wheels coming off. Stokes gets 2 plinks, a WP that scores a run then a walk. He gone. Bases loaded with one out and now a 5-3 game. Jaxon Jordan now on the hill for OBD. Someone has to come thru here and then the Duck bats need to come alive
  15. Duck bats quiet last two innings as Fusky arm has moved the ball around with good offspeed pitches. Need more runs for certain
  16. After finishing the 7th with two Ks, Featherston gives up a hard single and he's gone. Cole Stokes in to either close it or get to the 9th where someone else finishes. Go Ducks!
  17. Ugh, that's it for Umlandt. Three batters, a double, throw into CF in pickoff attempt then a long HR over the LF foul pole. Featherston in for Oregon
  18. Yep, day is done for Reitz. Umlandt on the hill for the Ducks
  19. Reitz now at 100 pitches thru six innings of work. 3 hit shutout with a five run lead. Fusky hitters making contact but getting under it for a lot of FBs. Control still OK but he's taken some velocity off. Does Waz pull him? Plenty of relievers and closers to bring it home.
  20. Fusky pitcher does NOT like Oregon's L handed hitters! Only Walsh struck out but three dingers otherwise
  21. Not to quibble, but when the referenced note was posted in March 2024, Clark was as yet unproven in the WNBA. With that rookie year under her belt, I would not argue with Clark being the supernova as stated. The definition of the term is a cosmic explosion that can result in a black hole or cooling cloud of stellar dust. Odds are Clark will continue to shine in the WNBA. She certainly has clout and is a huge draw for the league. Whether or not she is the GOAT remains to be seen, but she is certainly the face of women's professional basketball and has brought unparalleled attention.
  22. I humbly disagree that Moore was only average. His O-line was more porous than the one Novosad had and he was pressured more as a result. When he had the time he was accurate and found Sadiq repeatedly. I'm thrilled that OBD will have two starting caliber QBs with a greatly improved (and Marcus like) Moga in the three spot. Hopefully they will all stay put at Oregon.
  23. This was the best spring game in recent memory for me. I need to watch the replay at home to be sure. So much talent on both sides of the ball. Nothing like the roar of F-15s overhead to get things going. A few first impressions: The game seemed a bit more defense oriented. Offense had the benefit of several holding calls that went unflagged. Both starting QBs played fine, Novosad perhaps a bit better but he had Pancho at center and World at LT, both were stellar. World is the real deal. Battled Matayo to a draw several times. Sadiq will be a beast regardless of who is the QB. The power of a TE with the speed and athleticism of a big WR. Best athlete out there today. Dakorien Moore is as advertised, but McClelland and Gresham had good games as well. No Stewart and Dickey was invisible until the end of the game. Transfer WR Benson dropped a gimme pass that he will hate to watch on film. Ploog may carve out a small role at TE The RBs all ran well. Noah looks back to form and he and Hughes will be a great 1-2 punch. Lamar looked bigger and better than last year, and "Dink" could be the '3' back as well. On the D side, Washington and Purchase played solid, as did Grey. Alexander blew up an OG once into the QBs face and will be a good Harmon/Caldwell sub if he carries this to the fall. Nice scoop and score by Purchase on the Harris fumble, which Obedegwu forced. Mixon very quick on his blitzes. Flowers was a standout on several tackles, leveling Sadiq after a hurdle. Sadiq got payback later in the game, leveling Flowers on a tackle. Thieneman was very saavy and active but did overrun one play in the backfield. Offord and McNutt each had nice PBUs. It was good to see Florence back. The DB room looks solid even with all the new faces Sappington had a nice day but RSFr Hurych impressed, connecting on two FGs (51yd long) and a couple TBs on kickoffs. He has a low kick trajectory but a howitzer leg. Ross struggled with his first three punts, making me think that Dunne would lament transferring out, but his last two punts weren't bad after he adjusted something on his release. Plenty of other good (and a few bad) things I'm forgetting, but this team is loaded with talent and it occurred to me that each split squad was probably better than half the teams Oregon would face in 2025.
  24. Not ideal, but his decommittment may signify that Cantwell, Iheanacho or both are leaning Oregon.
  25. After Alabama and TexA&M, this has to be the best quad-1 win for OBD. If they can hold this type of effort thru the rest of the season and the B1G tournament, a 5 seed is not out of the question. But that's a B1G if
