WBB: Now Pinto is Leaving.
None of the 5 transfers so far was really very productive at all. Great group of freshmen coming in, we'll see if KG gets any really good transfers in, got one yesterday though her stats don't exactly jump off the page. We'll see

If a Dawg Barks Alone in a Washington Forest....Does it Make Any Noise?
And to answer the question, if one of the perple pooches barks in the woods and nobody is around to hear it, does it make noise? I dunno, but when it poops out there, whether anyone is around to smell it or not, it still stinks

Big Franck Leaving Via Portal
5 Star Center inbound, hopefully he is a splash...Bittle was a 5 Star but couldn't get past Kepnang for minutes, hopefully he improves a lot this offseason. Hopefully Dante stays! The dunks will be missed, and his free throws and ball movement improved down the stretch, and not quite as many travelling calls...still looking to see how DA makes the bigs a bigger part

Too Much Negative: The End is NOT Near for Oregon Football
NIL has the biggest potential to make college sports more worserer than anything else. And what the Pac-12 should have done was tell me to go skiing today. I think Lanning and that staff will show recruits some serious player development on the way to winning the Pac this fall, and (gasp) superior schemes that could actually land us in the playoff...this year! '23 will blow away MC's best class. We'll have a really good QB this year. Oregon football will be fun again this fall. And as you said Charles, we are set up well for NIL advantages because of some stuff in Beaverton. The grass is greener...and more yellowerer too. I like it.

Would You Want Him in Your Foxhole?
How about the Power 2 plus 2? Add Oregon/Nike and U$C

New OT Rules in the NFL
I've always thought the college/Kansas Plan OT is more fair, and more exciting. A lot of people hate it but NFL just ends up being a field goal in most OT's. Turn the clock off, take equal turns, win it on the field.

It’s Time for a Real Spring Game
I was in Missoula last week and seeing the Montana Grizzly stuff everywhere...brought joy to my heart thinking how they went to Seattle and beat the perple pooch mutts last year

WBB Parrish, Sabally, Watson and Scherr Leaving
Yep 4 of 5 of the fab 5 gone...TeHina only one that was ever really productive. KG has a true PG coming in, and a top wing, both top level 5 stars. Anyone bet he'll hit the portal too? Everyone is doing it, I don't like it, but the chemistry of the big 5 was never there. Maybe they'll flourish elsewhere and I wish them the best. I've said it before, Sabrina (and Ruthie and Satou as well) were on another level. I wonder how much is on KG and how much is on a rating system that didn't pan out? Did coaching flaws get masked by Sabrina and company?

Which Oregon Football Team Was the GOAT?
2012 team was one horrific call away from what would likely have been a natty.

Nico is Gone: Where Does Oregon Turn to For a 2023 Quarterback?
I hate the idea of Uncle Phil out-bidding someone, he could afford it, but that is what is about to become truly wrong in college sports, and if it becomes "do it to win, or lose" I'm not sure college sports will be worth watching any more, which is hard to imagine. If Phil went mega with the money and we truly bought a title, what does that prove?

Where Does Kelly Graves Go From Here?
I've said it before, that class had 5 x 5 stars, all McDonald AA's. TeHe has been good but inconsistent, is not the "alpha". Sherr has some spark but D and a few steals, boards and assists isn't enough, many nights ended with 0 points. Parrish only a couple games all year were notable. Dugalic transferred last year and is a bench player for sUCLA. Watson only got a few minutes a game and had more fouls than points or rebounds in many of those games. Sedona, not sure if it was just over-hype? Really good when she was on, but wasn't on much. Nyara was the MVP but injury prone and not always consistent either. The PG and SG coming in are higher rated than all of them, but ratings don't always pan out. Sabrina wasn't even the #1 in her class, (#2 or 3?) but may be the best collegiate player of all time, for women's at least, she's in the discussion. Ruthie was only a 3* I think? Add Satou to that bunch, we probably win in all in '20 but we'll never know. Shooting was dismal this season, from 3 and the free throw line. Way too many turnovers. I hope KG can figure it out, maybe it is just the lack of an alpha and some serious chemistry. Most of those 5 stars have never even looked close to the part.

Mariota's Landing Place?
Cowherd is spewing right now about Ryan going to kill it in Indy, good O Line, good weapons, good D, good running game. It'll be 3rd and 2, instead of 3rd and 8 all time in Atlanta with a leaky O Line. I think he makes a good point. Ryan is a good QB but that team won't let him show it.

Nico is Gone: Where Does Oregon Turn to For a 2023 Quarterback?
I think developing our own is better than playing the portal every year. Marcus was good enough to win the natty as a RFr. save the Crap 12 officials who don't understand that a bobbled pass controlled out of bounds is not a catch, even after multiple camera angles.

Learning About Lanning: “This is a VERY HARD Program”
Remember Chip would do practice FAST, and it would be over relatively quick too, but everyone was in shape. The offense gassed opponents, and the D would substitute a lot of fast players. Aliotti wanted "2 monsters in the middle" and 9 guys who could run like hell. It mostly worked, especially when the spread was new. Fake an injury anybody?
-
Coach Lanning: “Judge us by What we DO” (What was THAT About?)
Just win, baby. Win the Pac, a bowl, get 11 or 12 wins...those 5 stars see the improvements in scheme and player development, Top 5 or better class this fall. Next fall, win it all. If the QB situation pans out that's not a dream.

The Targeting Rule is Not About Player Safety
Yeah, I just want the appeal to happen on the field, someone in the booth, ref on the sideline camera, whatever, have the brains to see that it is one of these situations and not call anything. If both need a doctor clearance, they may be able to get that while they do the review and be ready next play even. Like all play reviews, try not to make it take 17 years. Obviously rule changes are needed, and ref training. Having the brains to may a good call is always a concern when you have Crap-12 officials, especially in football.
-
The Targeting Rule is Not About Player Safety
Totally agree. A couple things...what if someone gets pushed into the ball carrier multiple times, and it's incidental, unintentional, not-their-fault 10 times in a row? Tracking these things is fine but punishment because it happens to them in that way should not be a thing. The Vontaze Burfict type players where it seems more intentional, tracking that and racking up penalties may be appropriate. Also, he goes low to use shoulder, then the ball carrier dips...that's equal blame, not on the defender. Yes, overall these need to be looked at much more closely before just assessing a penalty and ejecting players, almost always the defender. Sitting out next week's first half has been wrong 90% of the time.

NIT Decides NOT to Invite the Washington Huskies
Sounds like a smart move to me

Is Lanning Hinting, While Building Culture?
Yes, that's it...more dudelier dude dudes are needed 🤣 I think we'll see it with the number 5 star dudes in the class of '23.

WBB: Utah 80 Oregon 73
Like men, no go-to, no true PG? Fire of the 1st quarter fizzled, like all season long. Is that on the girls or on KG and coaches? Sedona started well and ride the bench at the end. Injury issues we don't know about? Continued poor shooting, how many missed 3 foot or shorter layup/short bank shots? Giving up Offensive boards...16 to be exact, yet we had 18!!! The box score almost looks like a victory, then the fouls and free throws... Crap 12 refs strike again

WBB: Utah 80 Oregon 73
Nyara fouled out/KG technical, but Sedona only had 2 fouls???
