Ducks Have Signed Elite Speed on Defense in 2022 Class
JDuck replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
The RB flip from Georgia looks like he can do that...and strong between the tackles too...very much reminds me of another Oregon great RB also named James -
No. 19 Oregon Scorches ASU 72-58 New: Te-Hina Paopao Post Game Interview
JDuck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
A good win, they'd let asu back in, then go on another run. Better ball movement, seems to be coming together. Turnovers still annoy me, hopefully that cleans up, starting with the AZ game. I hope we go down there and punish the cats -
Didn't live up to the recruiting promises....

It's possible we hit top 25, but that stuff isn't as important as developing all the stars we have, who chose to stay, and the '22s coming in. Some decent transfers bring in good, experienced D1 players, adds depth. They don't count in the rankings, but I see now someone is ranking the portal, no surprise. Somebody will take the 247 Composite and merge it with the Portal rankings, and you get some dumb number...that doesn't really matter. Next years class could be top 5 with this staff! Still...it's all about coaching them up, MC and company proved that, huh?

Lanning Laws: “That Won’t Last a Week at Oregon”
JDuck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I was very annoyed on numerous occasions last fall as we got dumb 15 yard penalties, and I fully believe that was on MC as the head coach, the culture he created, and the assistants to some degree. I saw a lot of Duck showboating and trash talking after plays where it clearly wasn't earned, just like the one you mention where he got burned, and the D got lucky. That Rams-Niners game, seemed like there were no holding or false start penalties. MC made an emphasis on penalties his first couple seasons in Eugene, and we were one of the worst in FBS. He did improve it a lot, but the last two seasons...seems like the penalty numbers went way up again. That's coaching and discipline. Looking forward to what Lanning brings! The "de-recruitment process"...perfect! Especially with all this NIL garbage, may be even harder to get the entitlement attitudes out of some kids. -
What if it Ends up Working Out for Mario at Miami?

Nobody on this forum is on the team...I'm talking about us! -
What if it Ends up Working Out for Mario at Miami?
JDuck replied to Quietduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Must be a slow Saturday, why didn't you guys ski? I don't think MC will ever win the ACC, he may recruit enough to win the division (if they can beat Pitt) but he can't even get a DC or an OC. I see some 7-5 on the Miami horizon, 7-6 after they lose their bowls to Middle Tennessee State or Western Michigan or some team like that -
Ducks Offer Former 4-Star Transfer Portal DE
JDuck replied to idontrollonshobbas's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
He seems more like the speed rush DE/OLB as opposed to the more traditional bigger 4-3 DE, with KT gone, he might make a good complement to Swinson...could be a valuable add, hopefully he would really thrive in our system -
Huskies Cannot BELIEVE Their New Staff is Ranked Below Oregon!
JDuck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
They develop more academically prowessessnesserer -
Maybe he'll at least get to play in a couple of 5-7 seasons down there

As someone stated above, I bet we add on more RB thru the portal. If we don't smash it up the middle every time (new OC I suspect will be way more creative than Cristobol) then Seven McGee...using the speed to find the holes on the edges would be a great compliment to Cardwell, who will probably thrive in a new system as well.

Creating A Return to the Real College Football That We Love
JDuck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Money has definitely ruined college football. A lot of things were definitely better the way they "used to be" (though not all, as you aptly point out). The biggest problem with the SEC having their own "championship" is they will always claim to be the true national champions. The run for the roses winner will at best be a "split" champion. There is a school up north that thinks they have been a champion once long ago based on that. The "alliance" schools, and their players and fan bases, will want a shot at an undisputed natty, I know I do as a Duck fan. If the RFTR winner plays the SEC winner on January 10th, that's better. Or, just expand the playoff, what everyone wants now. There will be years where an Oregon, Baylor or Wisconsin will pull off the upset and be the undisputed champ. Still leaves a lot of issues due to NIL and bad TV deals, but going back to Michigan winning the AP when Nebraska would have beaten them by 28 in 1997...I don't like that either. -
Can Oregon get a Star While Nobody else is Looking?
JDuck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
LMJ was a Texas 3 star, Kenjon Barner was a SoCal 3 star DB -
University of Oregon's Historic Basketball Weekend

With the Men's win over OSU, that's 5 victories over 5 teams that were in last year's elite 8s -
Whew! Greg McElroy Takes Offense to Thibs Alabama Remarks
JDuck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Bad publicity for KT and for the University of Oregon. I hope Lanning brings to the team the concepts of respect and integrity. Not sure Cristo-slow-ball brought much of that. Maybe we'll see fewer dumb 15 yd penalties next season too! -
Hey a 6-6 season under the palms sounds nice?
-
Yeah...but they didn't join the Pac until 2011, in spite of USuC having those big years under Pete Carroll, those slipped away quickly like grasping oil in one's hand. The oil of cheaters. Utah was beating Alabama in the Sugar Bowl and dominating the MWC or the Wack or wherever they came from, first with Urban Meyer

USA Today Grades Every College Football Team for 2021
JDuck replied to Annie's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
USuC, Tex-ass, (and their gazillion dollar personal network) all get F's. Along with the perpil pooch mutts. All brings a smile to my face. (Those who know me know I can't spell purple properly in connection with the dog mutts up north, I would never shame it in that way) -
Chip was good from '07 to '12, and at New Hampshire. Doubt he goes back to 1AA or some division 5 school. I think he gets more money in the booth broadcasting.

National Championship Game Prediction Contest!
JDuck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Georgia revenge 21-20. AL 113 yds rushing AL 266 yds passing GA gets 2 take-aways (and no give aways) GA gets 3 sacks -
I think the Kansas Plan is more fair in terms of equal chances. The go for 2 rule now in the 3rd OT speeds it up. Coin flip still a slight advantage in terms of always choosing defense if you win the toss, but it flips in the 2nd OT. NFL new OT rules are better than the old sudden death at least

Dennis Dixon doesn't hurt his knee against ASU, there is a high likelihood we win the natty in 2007. Crap 12 refs don't blow the call against Stanturd, even after review, there is a high chance we'd have won the natty in '12 as well.

Uh oh... White Uniforms for the Alamo Bowl
JDuck replied to deschutesduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
At least it has school colors. I think every uniform should have both green and yellow. Black and white themes are ok, even gray sometimes (once every 5000 years) as long as there is both green and yellow -
BIG for Oregon Recruiting: Tosh Lupoi Will Join Oregon SOON!

Don't get a 15 yard PF for showboating
