  1. I think a lot of players who committed to other programs are now looking at how Oregon is playing and giving the Ducks a second look. If I was a high school player right now and looked around the country at how different teams were playing, it would be pretty easy to see Oregon would be one of the most fun teams to play for. Even in these days of NIL, that still counts for a lot.
  2. Great article, thanks for posting! I was also skeptical when I heard of Bo's transfer to Oregon. I always though ne could be a good QB in the right circumstance, but wondered if developing Ty and Butters wasn't a wiser course. Yeah, I'll admit I was wrong. I do want to see the others developed, but I was wrong about Bo Nix. He is playing like a great QB now. I didn't foresee that. I am happy for him and of course happy for Oregon football! Oregon football is fun again! Bo has a lot to do with that!
  3. Good for Bo for having the confidence in himself and his team to believe they could beat Georgia now! I totally agree it would be a different game now. Oregon is much, much better. I assume that Georgia has also improved week to week. It would be interesting. I'm not sure I have as much confidence as Bo to say definitely Oregon would win, but I don't think it is a stretch to say it wouldn't be 49-3. I'll go as far as to say the game wouldn't be decided until the 4th quarter one way or the other the way both teams are playing now.
  4. I'm giving Ty a little space here. My feeling is that if something were to happen to Nix we would see a different Ty. Ty would spent a week running with the first team offense, maybe with a little slimmed down version of the offense and with the coaches confidence behind him. We would be surprised at how good he has suddenly become. We have seen him a few times now when the game is over, but the last few minutes have to be run out. How emotionally pumped up would you be? Certainly not wishing anything bad for Bo, but he were to be out for a game or two and Ty got a chance to be QB1 just for a week or two, I think we would see a different player.
  5. I don't know about all California teams, but definitely SC. And listening to these announcers, you get the idea they all graduated from SC. They are just raving about all this talent that SC has put together. Well at least it is 11pm here in the East and time for me to go to bed. Just as well this is nauseating.
  6. I don't have the Oregon game here in Ohio, but you are sure right about them promoting SC. With just decent officiating WSU is up a touchdown, maybe two. It's like they decided ahead of time who is supposed to win and they are calling the game accordingly.
  7. WSU giving up now, can't keep fighting against the extra players on the field for SC.
  8. Looks like they will, but with a little help from their friends in the stripped shirts. Every time WSU has done something good in the second half there has been a flag. One or two have been legit. And I can't get the Oregon game here, so I have to watch this... I can't cuss on here, so I won't say anything.
  9. Don't look now but WSU just spotted USC 10 points and then started dominating them. 14 - 10 WSU up. Half filled stadium is pretty quiet now.
  10. Wonder after watching this is he might be better ont he defensive side. looked pretty good there.
  11. To be fair, he was third string at Auburn before injuries. Despite 28 points in the second half, Auburns defense didn't look bad.
  12. Hmmm... I'm not sure I like Chip having two weeks to pull a few tricks out of his hat and from up his sleeves against our promising but rookie coach. Looking to be a great game!
  13. Part of it was we went into the game expecting last years GA offense. We stopped their power running game, we missed a couple dozen +- tackles on the edge and they and the rest is history. They jet swept, bubble screened and swing passed us to death. If we had made clean tackles on those consistently, close game. We didn't. Looked like a totally different team by BYU. Robbie actually looked a little better in the second half, but the Georgia offense looked a lot better. They looked like the #1 team in the country in the second half, not so much the first.
  14. Watching half the game against Georgia so far, I can see Robbie being behind Ty and Butters. He has some talent, runs it really well, but not ready for this level yet. He throws hard, has a good arm, but little touch. Fortunately for Auburn to this point Georgia seems a little flat on offense themselves.
  15. Another thought, didn't I read a few comments (not here), that said Oklahoma had made a better coaching hire than Oregon. I wonder who still thinks so.
  16. But I think maybe the Ducks could beat the Georgia team I'm watching today. They look flat, but still winning.
  17. Hello from B1G 3 and little however many there are country. Yes the B1G is top heavy, and I'm not even sure if some of their top teams should be as high as they are. Michigan was less than impressive against a so so Iowa team last week, as was Penn. St. against a not very good Northwestern. OSU has been lights out offensively, but we'll see how they fair against that school up north when they try to grind it out and control the ball, keeping it away from the OSU offense, like last year. The OSU defense has been inconsistent. At time very good at other times not so much. I don't think there are many other teams that will threaten the top 25 this year. The PAC may lose one or two ranked teams when they start playing each other. The East Coast bias of the voters will come out. Especially if some of the best teams keep playing at midnight EDT, hint, hint. Honestly WSU should already be ranked. Only loss to Oregon in a nail bitter. But the one loss is enough to scare off east coast voters.
  18. As I see it, who the offers are makes more difference than how many. If you have offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, USC, Georgia and Michigan for example (I haven't seen his offer list so this is not his offer list) it may scare away some others. That kind of offer list also says some really good programs want this guy and recognize him as a player good enough for their program.
  19. I don't have a problem with celebrating. It's just some kids' personalities. Now if what they are doing is rubbing an opponents nose in it when they are beating them badly, that's another deal. Do some of the guys overdo it? Yeah, but one of the comments made during the early practices in the Spring after Lanning came was, "Football is fun again." I kind of like to see the guys celebrating and having fun as long as they are playing well when they line up and the ball is snapped.
  20. Yeah, if TT came in and went 8-10 for 150 yards and 2 TD's, the same behavior would be described as the calm demeanor he has in the huddle and how cool he is in the pocket.
  21. I think it's possible. A bad loss to the best team in the country (sorry pollsters but GA is still better than Bama) coming off a coaching change with everyone learning a new system can be overcome. Lanning had it right after the game, the only one stopping our offense right now is us. Stop the self inflicted wounds and we may be putting up 50+ on some good teams. To have a playoff chance with only 4 teams we have little room for error, even if we win. We have to win impressively. If that includes an impressive win over Utah, then over a maybe unbeaten USC in the PAC championship it may be hard to make an argument that there are 4 teams more deserving. A lot of ifs, but it's possible.
  22. Actually I like the blue field and remember there are those who find the Oregon basketball court undesirable (not me I love it). Oregon is well known for liking different. Le Boise be different if they want.
  23. I'm going back and forth in my mind, show them last years game as a team to make sure they do take them seriously. But I also think they need to not be reminded. Enough guys who played in that game are still here to know to take them seriously. Just play good football and you win. Oregon playing at its best vs Stanford playing at its best Oregon wins every time!
  24. Not so good for us eastern Duck fans, I'll look for the score in the morning. I can watch most of the Stanford game. Working Sunday morning when the Ducks are playing late...argh!
