  1. Nice face emoji, Charles. Nothing left to ambiguity.
  2. Yes it's a sign of a good person and a good coach. I think other coaches of ours have done likewise but it's nice to know Dan's of that frame of mind too.
  3. It'll be a very tough game but one that I think Oregon can win if they continue to improve like they have every week so far this season. Each week this team has looked closer and closer to getting entirely in-sync both Offensively and Defensively. If Oregon can avoid any surprises from Chip's offense and if Gonzalez can hold Bobo in check like he did Wilson of ASU for most of the game I like O's chances in this one.
  4. Another big matchup ahead with Jake Bobo & Christian Gonzalez to look forward to. Both Bobo and Az's Mike Wilson are supposed to be the 2 best in the conference. Both are 6'5" to Gonzalez's 6'3". We need a pass rush.
  5. Ugh. There are other ways to show support for Breast cancer victims and raise awareness. But really, how many people do we suppose aren't already aware of this scourge? Probably no one over the age of 12. In my worthless opinion, there are better ways to raise awareness than asking our young men to wear pink uniforms.
  6. Their two 'tough' tests have both been at home, unlike Oregon who's had all their toughest tests out there on the road. When UCLA beats us or a team like us on the road, then I'll give them a nod. They certainly have the right coach to get them there but so do we.
  7. When you say 'current' you mean 'current at the O' ? Got ya, Charles. 'Cause MC's currently still coaching and that's why I thought it might apply to him as well. He's not a 'fam fav' in our household but he's taken a good amount of hits on the blog here, that's for sure.
  8. I like Elkhorn. Steve, the owner is a brave businessman who's always supported the community and the Ducks while having to deal with repeating senseless vandalism. Next time I'm in Eugene, it's the Elkhorn for lunch! And a lager... Go Ducks!
  9. So tell us Freddy, who ya pulling for? We're all marvelous guys and gals here, we won't bite! We may Quaaaaak! But we don't bite.
  10. A lot of 'grey' areas so I don't envy you Charles. As one who has been given a short time-out a time or two I'll only mention one person here that I think might have been a victim of this sort of derogatory (or is it inflammatory?) remarks, albeit mostly mild and critical of his performance: Mario Cristobal
  11. And you just know that Chip (as we write) is scheming & plotting a whole new devious plan to take Tosh Lupoi by surprise as well. "Saddle the Lagonda, Lugg." Let the chess game begin.
  12. Very nice! This young man is one of those precious Seniors I was talking about DL & KD having to replace after this year (I don't think he has another year of eligibility left). We need them to find more of these guys rather than more running backs, imo.
  13. Richard, Richard, Richard! You forgot, "It never rains in Autzen Stadium". Now smoke might be a bit of a problem. But not rain. (In answer to your question, not very.)
  14. Maybe a hard, swift kick in the rear end? (perhaps figuratively). I can tell you it worked for us when we were learning how to play football and the ball coach thought we weren't either paying attention, or giving it effort. Or both.
  15. SaysSays Canzano (above article); • 9. That raises a question: Which is the better football job — Arizona State or Colorado? Colorado. The geography is nicer.
  16. Easily the most favorable schedule in the conference, maybe of the entire Power 5. But a lot of pundits expected Jayden DeLaura to have a big day with is 4 athletic WR's including the 6'5" Wilson against the Duck's secondary. They didn't. The Duck's 'weakest' point wasn't so weak after all. Oh, Chip will have them ready, all right and with 2 weeks to prepare, he'll have wrinkles Dillingham can only dream of (maybe). But so will Oregon. It'll be a chess game on the sidelines and a WAR on the field. But they're in the Duck's house, not the Coliseum this time. Keep faith.
  17. It'll probably be the game of the week when the Bruins slide into Eugene on Saturday the 22nd. Unbeaten, Chip's team comes in to put Oregon "in its place", or so they hope. I'll likely be one he_l of a shootout in Autzen. Interesting fact that some of you may have over-looked. By some 'quirk' of scheduling UCLA has played 5 of their 6 games so far at home this season. They have only 1 road win: against the worst team in the conference, Colorado. Pretty nice gig, if you can get it. The fans at Autzen need to show up in a ferocious (but respectful) manner that day and "welcome" the Bruins to just their 2nd game away from the friendly confines of home. It's poetic justice they get that 2nd road trip to Eugene. It'll be time for them to get a taste of how hard it is to win on the road in this conference. GO OREGON!
  18. I say, let him go and spend the time and effort to bring in more linemen. I commented on this earlier last week. We have no upperclassmen in this position but are loaded with good RB's who are doing a great job. No reason to replace Irving, Whittington, Cardell, James or Dollars, nor the others behind them. Dowdell would just be one more RB in an already crowded room of good backs.
  19. Yes he was (recruited by MC) and maybe he does (skill set) and maybe not (wrong under the hood). But KD can't just look past him while waiting for the QB he wants - because we don't have the QB he 'wants' here. If something happens to Nix ... we'll ... either Ty or Jay had darn well better be ready to step in and keep this offense going. 5-stars should imply a skillset KD & DL can work with. Or the 5-stars were bogus in the first place.
  20. If Lanning proves to be a good recruiter of O-linemen I feel confident they will be able to develop them. But right now the recruiting scene is revealing a certain scarcity of O-line talent on the horizon. This is concerning as this line is senior dominant (Walk, Bass, Aumavae-Laulu and Forsyth) tho not without some good Juniors: Steven Jones (injured) Dawson Jaramillo and some frosh and sophomores. So, we'll have to wait and see how well this O-line is maintained going forward. It's the one good thing that last H.C. managed to produce.
  21. Save this for comparison to the next game's stats. Not to throw cold water on your party but... remember it was Arizona. When they show dominance against UCLA, Utah and Washington I'll be right there to cheer them on as THE best in the nation. They are so far...
  22. Not to argue because I respect your point, but Taggert's record at Oregon was 7-5. His coaching career record (over 13 years) is 68-77 or .469%. That's not exactly 'unstoppable'. Couple this with the fact he had Justin Herbert at his fingertips, albeit early in his career at Oregon.
