  1. I LOVE MY DUCKS 63-31 TO 3 SACKS 5 PASS 322
  2. To counter our Total Blackout the Spoiled Children will bring a white flag. They will wave it at the end of the third quarter while we joyously sing SHOUT.
  3. I saw a video clip after that game he said he wanted to go home and hug his dog. They fly charter so I'm sure there would be no trouble in bringing his emotional support dog on the plane. He will need it at Autzen. I don't think The Duck will be a good hug.
  4. MUST READ All the info for Autzen Stadium https://goducks.com/sports/2011/6/21/205174790.aspx
  5. As mentioned visit Hayward Field, your first visual impression will be "It's Amazing". If it's open there is a great little track and field museum on the north east corner. South on Agate St is a pod of taverns and restaurants on 19th St. McMenamins, Studio One, Agate Alley ( they have a Bloody Mary bar on Sunday), Beppe & Gianni's Italian and pizza and others across the street. Near Mathew Knight Arena to the east is The Wild Duck recently reopened and owned by an Oregon football player. Lots of UO memorabilia. South across Franklin Blvd is Track Town Pizza. Around the corner from the Book Store is Rennies Landing a favorite student hangout. West on 13th is Max's Tavern a long time dive bar. Downtown is 5th St. Market, Walking distance to Autzen across the footbridge, There are food pods and interesting shops, across the street is the Market Alley. Nike Shop is on the corner. Wine and whiskey tasting in the shops and the best ice cream in town. Top of the Gordon Hotel is Carlita's Mexican. Go on line to get the password for the Speakeasy, look for the door marked janitor with the peekhole in the lobby. Hint, it's next to the bathrooms. Close to Steelhead Brewery and more eating establishments. A few blocks away short walk from 5th St to Willamette and Broadway is Ken Kesey Square (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest). VooDoo Donuts, KIller Burger and half a dozen dive bars, a couple of good restaurants (Party Downtown and Davis) and lots of lost youth and transients. South on Willamette (driving distance) is The Beer Stien, large sellection of beer and good food. Across the street is Mac's at the Vet they have blues most nights but I just realized that you'll be at Fishduck Friday and the game Sat. Back track to 6th St (one way west) to the already mentioned Beer Garden, they are celebrating The Denver Beer Fest and serving many award winners from the northwest among their 42 taps. To night the intertainment is Greg Nessler Band, they're good. To Blair Blvd, left to Falling SkyBrewery right to Ninkasi. A couple have mentioned the Ninkasi Living Room, but they don't read the news, it closed this week, but the tap room is open. Fun old hippy neighborhood Tacovore and Nelson's for Mexican. Visit the Red Barn and Sam Bond hippy dives. If you stay in in Springfield after FishDuck head to 4th and Main. Planktown Brewery has a Ken Kesey mural, Public House is a properly repurposed church with stained glass, many taps and a Whiskey Bar and The Monkey Paw a Tiki bar has live music Friday night. I type slow and the places that have been mentioned by others and me are the best. When in doubt Google. I think Portland and Eugene have the most beweries per capita in the US.
  6. After the first shower it wasn't too bad. I didn't notice the wind and it just misted a couple of times. From my point of veiw the conditions didn't seem to affect the players too much. The reffs did good job keeping a dry ball in service and the players didn't seem to too be slipping on the field. I was cozy with my seat against the wall behind row 37 and my flask of Crown Royal that I have forsook the last few years but thought it might be a good idea Saturday. Of course my opinion of the weather is tempered of my memories of the Cal Monsoon 10 years ago. That was miserable.
  7. Everybody is in the same ball park. That leaves me with: DUCKS 42-14 TO 3 SACKS 4 PASS 259
  8. Dan Lanning has professed to a HUNGER. A hunger he has shared with the Team and now the fans. A HUNGER for a Nattie (thank you Cliff). Will one NC trophy satiate that hunger or will the Lays potato chip ad "Bet you can't eat just one" apply? Science calls this “hedonic hyperphagia.” Like Uncle Phil, Dan will want another one and another and another. Me too! We don't know at what point Dan will be satisfied with his legacy at Oregon. Will the Allure of a Super Bowl Ring draw him to the pros. There is the lesson of a short tenure that Chip Kelly and Rich brooks had in the pros or the sucess of former Oregon coach George Siefert who won four Super Bowls. Which will it be? When will it be? Dan has a fire deep inside and outside forces will try to sway him. We can only hang on for the ride and be thankful for the outcome.
  9. I've seen rumors of 1.4
  10. For the second week I did not see a BO dacious sign. The Duck was holding some good signs at the end. Miss you Coach.
  11. Is there anyone here that can identify everone in the picture. I'm ashamed to admit there are more than a couple that I can't put a name to the face. I even had to look a Alioti more than twice to see that I knew him. Angle of the camera I guess, he looked different.
  12. I'm watching Game Day... Where's the BO Dacious signs? I see the ever present WSU Cougar flag and a Beaver flag. No Bo. This is our only home game this month. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I haven't seen any "Wear Pink" mentioned. My wife is a breast cancer survivor and I look foward to supporting her during the Duck games. Maybe I'll wear Pink anyway.
  13. It's been decades since we've had a proper tailgater at Autzen, back when we could drive in and park anywhere. We have instead strived for efficiently getting in and out of the madhouse by riding the bus. Kugn Radio sponsors a tailgate in the parking lot serving Hole in the Wall BBQ and Track town Pizza. We have tickets for this Saturday. For away games we sometimes get together with friends that might feature home made tacos or Papa Murphy's take and bake. When I'm tasked with the main dish I like to fix my famous babyback ribs. The best recipe is the 3-2-1 method. Rub and smoke on my Traeger for 3 hours. Then wrap with foil with a dash of juice or my secret ingredient, whiskey to steam for 2 hours and a last hour slathered with sauce to set. EMMM. Delicious.
  14. I haven't paid too much attention to the Beavers this year but I did notice they had retro uni's with Benny the Beaver on the helmet and their old logo on their field. I agree it would be cool for both of us to wear retro for the Civil War.
  15. I have Hulu and recorded the game. I was ready to watch it Sunday and it suddenly stopped two minutes into the fourth quarter. I haven't had time to search for it. Was it on youtube? Maybe I'll stay up late tonight, I just had a piece of chocolate cake and a cup of coffee, that should keep me buzzed.
  16. No. A great woman married me. After 43 years I still pinch myself. Heres our Duck Shrine and the Duck with a noose on Fusky ready to kick him off the bar.
  17. I've never needed a seditive, I want to get pumped for the game. During the Bellotti years I snuck in my flask with a portion of peach brandy. In the colder days it was switched out for Crown Royal that mixed better with the snack bar hot chocolate that I shared with my wife. When we scored I would allow myself a swallow. Until I got noticed by a security monitor, he tapped on my shoulder and requested that I give him my monogramed flask that was an Anniversary gift from my wife. He agreed to return the flask after emptying it in the bathroom, which he did. It was late in the fourth quarter and only had trickle left in it. Being a sneaky and resourceful Duck I aquired a dummy set of binoculars. They looked real and held twice as much. Peach brandy on one side and Crown Royal on the other side. During the "Chip" years the Ducks would score and I would sip.Score and sip, score and sip, score and sip. Leaving the game the South steps became a challenge. Maturity determined that this type of celebration was no longer needed outside the comfort of my little log cabin. Saturday 12:30 kickoff may offer up an early brunch with a Bloody Mary and celebratory Duck Farts after each touchdown. I'm counting 7 scores. I think I need some more Kaluha.
  18. OREGON DUCKS 45 DAMN HUSKYS 31 TO 2 SACKS 3 BO PASSING 272
  19. This weekend is the twentieth anniversery of WSU "Ol Crimson" flag flying over Gameday. We know there is an Alumni organization that orchestrates the logistics of UPSing the flag to an alumni or fan that volunteers to wave it during the show. Do we know who holds uo the Bo signs. A few times when the camera zoomed in it was hard to identify the holder. The ones I saw were not dressed as a DUCK fan should be. Is the advertizing company that did the NY and Dallas banners hireing the labor to hold the signs. Surely this weekend we should have a plethera of true DUCK fans waving BO Datious.
  20. Glad to see Tonya Harding is still relevant. Made me laugh. I share Charles' mean sense of humor.
