OMG, our O-line can't open any holes for 1 yard,,,so disappointing. -
I think Matt Ruhl is a good coach and will turn the program around there. This is his first year at Nebraska and he came into an empty cupboard after Scott Frost was fired. When he was here in Philly, he turned the Temple program around in 3 years, going from the dumpster into one of the best. Then he left for Baylor and turned that program around in a few years before going pro. I think Nebraska will do fine with him but he needs time to bring in his players.

Colorado doesn't look as good this week. Perhaps TCU just isn't very good this year. I think the Ducks will learn a lot about how to play CU in a couple of weeks from this game with Nebraska.

Totally agree, Mudslide. I worked in a 4th grade classroom and we worked on pronouns with many lessons. It used to make my hair stand up whenever I heard or read, "Me and Mary are friends." I think families must talk this way at home because it is hard to break young kids of this habit.

5 THINGS TO WATCH: TEXAS TECH Oregon will play its first road game of the 2023 season Saturday when the Ducks play at Texas Tech. The UO football team moved up two spots to No. 13 in this week's Associated Press top 25 poll after beating Portland State to open the season, 81-7. The Red Raiders are playing their home opener this week after opening the season with a double-overtime loss at Wyoming, 35-33. Oregon leads the all-time series between the two, 2-0. The Ducks swept a home-and-home series in 1991 and 1992, winning the first game in Lubbock and also the next season at Autzen Stadium; the programs are scheduled to meet again in Eugene on Sept. 7, 2024. Some storylines to watch Saturday evening … 5 Things To Watch: Texas Tech - University of Oregon Athletics GODUCKS.COM The Ducks will play their first road game of 2023 at Texas Tech on Saturday (4 p.m., FOX).

Oregon State and Washington State filed a legal complaint against the Pac-12 and commissioner George Kliavkoff on Friday seeking an emergency temporary restraining order to protect what the schools see as an "imminent and existential threat" to the future of the conference. With the intent of "exploring opportunities to sustain the Pac-12," the schools are asking for a board meeting of all 12 members Wednesday to be canceled and for legal clarity to be given on who has voting rights to control the future of the league. Oregon embracing difficult road environment at Texas Tech Oregon will head to its biggest non-conference game of the season with 60k+ fans and temperatures in the triple digits. The West Texas heat is no joke. And Oregon is about to face it head-on starting Saturday, as the heat and 60k of their closest enemies bear down on them starting at 4 p.m. PST. Lubbock, Texas, located about 70 miles from the New Mexico border, is about as far West as you can get in the state. The temperatures for this week have ranged between 97 fricken to 104 fricken. In other words, it's been hot. Really hot. But, for Oregon, they catch a break. The game does not begin at high noon but rather in the late afternoon, when the temperatures will drop down into the 90s. Refreshing. The turf will feel like the sun for most of the game, but the Ducks have been preparing for this. During the first three weeks of fall camp, Oregon practiced in the mid-afternoon in Eugene, where temperatures ranged into the 90s and occasionally eclipsed the 100-degree mark. "I think having the heat up is good for us," said head coach Dan Lanning after the Ducks' first fall practice. "Early in the season we can train in harder environments or play games in the afternoon at night. So doing that early I think benefits us and then later on we get to our class schedule and transition back to morning." Come Saturday, Oregon will see if that early camp workouts paid off in the long run. 7 major questions we have for the Ducks in Week 2 vs. Texas Tech In a strange way, Oregon Duck fans are entering Week 2 of the 2023 college football season in a similar fashion to the way that they entered Week 2 of the 2022 season — with a lot of unanswered questions remaining about the team. A year ago, the Ducks played the defending national champion, and eventual two-time champion Georgia Bulldogs in Week 1, losing 49-3. It was a game so lopsided that it didn’t give an accurate representation of what this Oregon team could be. The exact same thing can be said about the Ducks’ 2023 season-opener, where they beat the Portland State Vikings 81-7. Did we really learn anything about Dan Lanning and his squad in Year 2? If we did, it certainly wasn’t very substantial. That’s why, as we head into a Week 2 clash against the Texas Tech Red Raiders down in Lubbock, I still have a ton of questions about this team. Whether it’s personnel, schematics, or simply production, there are several things that Oregon needs to show in this game among competitive teams. Here are the main questions that I want to see answered... Oregon vs. Texas Tech: 'Tale of the Tape' for No. 13 Ducks vs. Red Raiders In a sense, this Week 2 matchup for the Oregon Ducks against the Texas Tech Red Raiders feels like Week 1. While the Ducks were able to knock the rust off and get some live action against a different team last week against Portland State, the matchup didn’t really provide many scenarios for us to learn a whole lot about the team. Oregon won 81-7 in a game that could have had a 100-plus scoring differential if the Ducks wanted to make it so. This week, though, the Ducks will face some tougher competition in Texas Tech. With Tyler Shough at quarterback, and a group of strong skill position players, Oregon’s defense will have a big task on their hands trying to slow down one of the fastest offenses in the nation. Likewise, Bo Nix and the Ducks’ offense will try to pick apart a secondary filled with several veteran players who know what they’re doing. So when you look at the tape and get into the numbers, which team is expected to have an advantage? Let’s take a look, using numbers from last week to project ahead... Oregon vs. Texas Tech: ‘Tale of the Tape’ for Ducks vs. Red Raiders DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Oregon is less than a touchdown favorite heading into Lubbock this weekend. The numbers suggest it should be more than that.

Pac-12 Betting guide: Spread and moneyline picks for Week 2 of Pac-12 football Week 2 is nearly upon us, and so is another slate of games to bet on. Week 1 was an exciting one, with Colorado upsetting TCU, which has set the college football world on fire. The other exciting part of Week 1 was that my picks went 6-1. I’m just kidding of course. My picks were pretty conservative and most games had lopsided lines going in. Still, it was fun for me to watch. With fewer games being played between Pac-12 teams and FCS teams this week, there are more games to bet on for Week 2. All of the odds are from FanDuel, but make sure to look for the best odds you can find for your picks. As I said before, I am nowhere close to being a betting expert, so take my picks with a grain of salt. Oregon vs Texas Tech - Preview & Prediction (Late Kick Cut) -
Texas Tech offensive preview: Tyler Shough looks to pass all over his former team One of the biggest talking points of college football’s first week was the Wyoming Cowboys’ upset of the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Texas Tech was heavily favored to beat the Cowboys, but as we saw, anything can happen early in the season as teams are still trying to find their identity. Despite the loss, the Red Raiders’ quarterback Tyler Shough, who is a former Oregon Duck, played well. He threw for 338 yards, 3 TDs, with 1 INT. Shough is nearing the end of his college career and it is unfortunate that so far he hasn’t had ample opportunity to demonstrate his QB ability due to injuries. However, a small sample of games played does not mean Shough is not the real deal. In Texas Tech’s final game of the 2023 season against Ole Miss, Shough threw for 242 yards and a TD while rushing for 111 yards and 2 TDs... Texas Tech defensive preview: While the Red Raiders lack depth, they have a few stars in the making Earlier this week, I looked at the most important things to know about Texas Tech’s offense. Today, it’s the defense’s turn. It feels safe to say that defense likely won’t be the strong suit of the Red Raiders this season. They are much deeper and more talented on the offensive side of the ball, though they still have playmakers on the defensive side.
