Lupoi Hired as DC at Oregon
That’s a lot for a recruiter, any acumen on player development and a defense coordinator?

Surprise! Surprise! Cristobal Hiring McClendon as Offensive Coordinator
Perfect fit for each other! Could you imagine the game plan conversation BMc: I have drawn up some passing routes for our next game MC: We don’t do that here BMc: Don’t do what? MC: Pass! Now hit the recruiting trail!

Now...Do you think that Cincinnati Belonged?
After the divorce from the other divisions, that would be their problem. Every division champion would be in our playoff and the SEC can do whatever they want.

Whacked Washington Again: New WR Coach for Oregon Nabbed From Huskies
He can recruit but can he develop?

Now...Do you think that Cincinnati Belonged?
The argument could be made that at this time in history only Georgia and Alabama belong. An easy way to fix the problem is to have the SEC have their own “national championship” and the rest of the conferences consolidate to 8 conferences. We take our money they take theirs.

Portal Dumpster Fire at Hawaii (14 players!) has Connections to Oregon
The issue is that there is a pattern of hiring coaches that come from toxic cultures and specifically the hiring of two that have allegations of abuse and mistreatment of players. This is the type of thing that former players should have written a letter to the AD about and what Jonny C should have reported on.

Portal Dumpster Fire at Hawaii (14 players!) has Connections to Oregon
I see a pattern of hiring coaches that come from cultures that abuse players. there is no honeymoon time period for that style of culture. Questions should be asked it’s entirely appropriate and if any answers are “radical accountability” we all should worry. Hopefully I am over reacting but by using past information I’m not.

Portal Dumpster Fire at Hawaii (14 players!) has Connections to Oregon
Most our coaches either have a Graham or Mora connection. This is not a good sign.

A Legacy That Will Never DYE
I would rather see him try his hand at a graduate assistant for coaching than the NFL. He would be a great leader for future football players.

Let’s Be Thankful For the Coaches Who Have Left Oregon
I feel very little sympathy for the multimillionaires that can’t even hold up their end of the bargain. That being said we shouldn’t be crass jerks about it. I would shoot for honest with decorum. Besides I know the least about football on this forum. So when everything goes well I listen. When obvious issues are occurring and most people are still in “wait and see mode”, I speak up. For example, MC’s offense or Danimals’ potentially problematic. So we should be able to be critical of our coaches and players. However, if we allow a “gloves off” approach, it is likely the forum will devolve into twitterverse. And who really wants that? Furthermore, we should never attack a player. We can be critical of their performance but never attack them. They are at the mercy of the fans, coaches, and administration. All they are trying to do make a better life for themselves and their family. So we should really cut them a break. Lastly, we should be honest with decorum in this forum for us. In a world where we see rudeness, personal attacks, and dishonesty on a daily basis, shouldn’t we have a sanctuary where we lead the in the discussion of football? If we want gloves off… just go to Twitter, Facebook, or a remarks section on a sports web page. They have that market space covered.

Here is the Coach Lanning Staff as of Now...
I am starting to worry that Lanning is hiring multiple coaches that are salesmen with baggage. A good culture and player development will be essential for sustained success.

Would a 12 Team Playoff Help The Pac-12?
Maybe the other conferences need to forge a path without both the SEC and ESPN

Would a 12 Team Playoff Help The Pac-12?
What’s the difference between an 4 SEC team playoff and a 12 teams SEC team playoff? about 8 teams. you can’t have millions of dollars at stake with a subjective beauty pageant picking the contestants and have a satisfied consumer base. Someone will alway be left out unjustly and the image of the playoffs will just deteriorate over time. The only way for the playoff to work is through an objective way to get in.

Poll: What are the Probabilities of Success for Dan Lanning to YOU??
Lanning is absolute upgrade from MC in X&O’s and we may be able to keep the recruiting just as high. That being said Lanning hired multiple assistant coaches that contributed to Jim Mora’s toxic culture and one of them was named codefendant in a $15 million abuse case. I see this playing out one of two ways: 1. Lanning keeps a short leash on “problem coaches” and we go to the playoff within 3 years and possibly the national championship. 2. Lanning either hired the coaches because of their “problematic past” or fails to “leash the problematic coaches” and the UO is in a $15 million lawsuit of their own and the program is a 4 win team the year after Lanning is fired

Nebraska Defensive Line Coach Tony Tuioti to Oregon
If Lanning had Klemm in his little black book, fully knowing his background, that bothers me more than a panic hire. That the hire was part of Lannings vision all along. That is a red flag.

Trojan Wire: With Adrian Klemm..."Oregon Will Push the Boundaries in Recruiting"
No there shouldn’t redemption for “designing drills that hit a concussed player in the head while yelling **** him up”. These actions and the culture he willingly took part in was so far out of bounds that it likely lead to permanent injuries to the players. The program can’t feign ignorance when this happens the next time because Klemm has done it before. Innocent until proven guilty is an important concept in criminal court but this isn’t a criminal court. This is a fan judging the head coach for hiring a guy who designed drills that led to crippling a player. Klemm may not deserve jail but he certainly shouldn’t be working in football.

I worry more that abuse is a feature of his program not that he ignores it. He hired Klemm knowing about his actions.

As I read I kept thinking, what would have happened to Barner if we treated him like that after his concussion.

It looks like the lawsuit was dismissed against mora but the negligence case against UCLA is still ongoing. The more you read the worse it gets. The whole situation ended up with linemen getting CTE and an attempted suicide https://www.theday.com/article/20211201/SPORT01/211209933

That’s a good question. I don’t know but I also don’t want to be the team that the ncaa focuses on when they decide they want to reassert their power

Trojan Wire: With Adrian Klemm..."Oregon Will Push the Boundaries in Recruiting"
… and that was great in the short term and the “slap on the wrist” harmed our team until the sanctions were removed. Next time won’t be a slap on the wrist.

Trojan Wire: With Adrian Klemm..."Oregon Will Push the Boundaries in Recruiting"
It seems that Mr Lanning is building a coaching team that will win in the short term only to be sanctioned to the Stone Age 4 years down the road..
