The number one in the article is recruiting. I don't think the article goes far enough. What I noticed with Mario and more so with Lanning is every new coach hired seems to be known for recruiting. Almost without exception and most are young and energetic. Good at their positions also, but great recruiters.

ND is being ridiculous as they have enjoyed a favored status for decades. Generally I have enjoyed their usual post season beat down as an undeserving team. I particularly enjoyed Oregon State's 41 to 9 Fiesta Bowl win in 2001.

The playoff structure is like a pyramid, the more teams included the more teams "almost" made it and will be complaining about being slighted.

It has been ages since I saw anyone disqualified for drug tests or academic reasons. Are they still a factor?

Alabama in with three losses is a travesty. Then, to hear their former coach be given a platform to try to eliminate the smaller schools in future playoffs. The SEC already had a stacked presence.

I think coaches tend towards conservative and when the day got rainy and windy it was natural to go to the run game. Wisconsin was a passing team that could not get 100 yards Saturday. The Ducks ground it out to assure the win. I have no problem with that. I have wondered if Dante or someone on the line has some tell that opponents are picking up on. Iowa will be interesting as they are a good team but would need a dominating defensive performance to win.

Never would have guessed 3-3.

I watched the Apple Cup last night and the announcers sickened me with their constant praise of the Huskies. They proclaimed the Husky running back to be the best in college football several times. Then the claimed their QB to be the future of college football. Gag.

Problem with Sanders is the little league dad intruding.

I listened to most of it on BIG10plus. The announcers seemed surprised that the newly added West Coast teams were good. One comment was specifically surprised the Ducks had good distance running.

These announcers are really annoying, perhaps the worst I remember.

So, Oregon pregame will be non existent with this overtime.

I believe ASU is better than everyone seems to expect.

Does the arrogance overcome the whining about calls from the last game? The new Duck chant should be Yips, Yips, Yips at crucial moments.

Makes me wonder if all the whining by OSU players and coaches about the game and particular plays is an attempt to intimidate the refs in this game.

But in basketball...
