  1. Oregon's trick plays this season have lead to other teams spending a lot of practice time preparing for them. Every team has to prepare for an onside kick now.
  2. Ducks Men’s Basketball Signs Top Recruiting Class EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon men’s basketball head coach Dana Altman announced today the signing of three prospects for the 2023 recruiting class. Two Oregonians are among the signees, as well as five-star prospect KJ Evans Jr., the No. 11 ranked recruit in the nation according to 247Sports. Portland native Mookie Cook (6-7, 210) finished his high school playing career at AZ Compass Prep, one of the nation’s top prep schools in Chandler, Ariz. He ranks No. 15 in the ESPN rankings, giving the Ducks two top-20 prospects in 2023. Hailing from West Linn, four-star Jackson Shelstad is the reigning Gatorade Oregon Player of the Year. Shelstad led the Lions to a 21-3 record, averaging 27.0 points, 5.5 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 4.3 steals per game. Evans Jr. (6-9, 200) is from Baltimore and will finish his career at Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida. The left-handed forward is poised to make an immediate impact for the Ducks as a consensus five-star prospect. Jackson Shelstad
  3. This would be a great weekend to pile up the points.
  4. Growing up we were never allowed to say we hated anything. My big sister did manage to sustitute "thoroughly disgusts me". The Huskies have always thoroughly disgusted me.
  5. I think the athletic department must be training Lanning in speaking. At the start of the year he sounded like a teenager but now he does not say "you know" every other sentence.
  6. In a late game drive for Utah in the USC-Utah game there was a flag on almost every down it seemed. It was beyond anything I have ever seen.
  7. Playing in late Oct. or Nov. in the Palouse is hell, not Sept. I have attended late season games there and it sucks.
  8. At least it is not Oct. or Nov. I always hate playing WSU as they seem very intense vs UofO.
  9. I was dissipointed when he said Nix is our QB. So the close competition was all hot air? MC would not give his backups playing time and now that error is being repeated.
  10. Can't wait for all the prima dona 5 stars playing for a prima dona coach to build a team. Hah. Only 22 positions and a lot of unhappy players.
  11. It is not like plaing Nebraska in the 70s. There is no game we do not stand a chance in now.
  12. There has always been a minimum academic standard which us why we have not seen schools such as UNLV.
  13. And this is an interesting quote from a WP commentor. "It is pretty rare that a sprinter or hurdler is measured with a reaction time less than .120-.125, but it does happen. To capture the outliers, the reaction time considered a false start was set at .100 seconds several decades ago. There has been a fair amount of discussion within the track and field community that the timers in Oregon have been recording "starts" ever so slightly faster than other timing systems. There have been numerous races over the last few days where sprinters have registered "legal" start times better than .110. Allen registered a .101 reaction time in his semifinal heat. Including Allen's false start, several false starts this week were in the .090 - .100 range. These results seem to be too clustered to be explained by coincidence or by athletes trying to gain an advantage. While the result can't be changed now, I think Allen has a legitimate argument and the timing system in use needs to be inspected."
  14. This article explains the reaction time standard. Reaction Times and Sprint False Starts CONDELLPARK.COM I have yet to find an article clearly explaining the mechanism within the starting blocks as that might be a weak point.
  15. There is no way the equipment in all 8 lanes is calibrated to within a thousandth. Devon does not move any part of his body before the gun. There were also 2 women DQed in their races with just a couple of thousandths. This really needs to be revised.
  16. I sure hope it is full. The two big meets so far this year have had surprisingly sparse crowds. Covid requirements?
  17. The Pac 8-10-12 has always avoided many west coast schools because they do not meet minimum standards.
  18. USATF Sunday meet will start earlier due to expected heat WWW.REGISTERGUARD.COM The meet will now begin at 10:30 a.m. instead of noon as temperatures are expected to be in the mid-90s by afternoon in Eugene
  19. This cannot be about his coaching as it would be difficult to replicate his success.
  20. His role will probably change as they have a real point guard with speed coming in. That is something they have lacked for years.
  21. I was finding it especially annoying that the media was pushing the narrative they were. He was never going to be my hero. It reminded of the 60s and 70s promotion of the Dallas Cowboys.
  22. If they beat the Washington schools and win 2 Pac 12 tourney games I believe they will be in the NCAA tourney. Tourney "experts" determine nothing.
