  1. Have to hand it to Michigan. It was close for a time but too many miscues on the Huskie's part.
  2. Penix combines accuracy with what may be the quickest release among the top teams. Plus great receivers. That will decide the game.
  3. Penix is a magician with the ball. Deadly accurate and the fastest release I've seen. His receivers haven't gotten much separation—but it doesn't seem to matter.
  4. Have to agree with Dr Jacks Plaid Pants about Schraeder. He should have been named Offensive MVP.
  5. Best bowl game so far. Low key Jedd Fisch has done a great job with that team. And the Adams/Fifita comparison is apt. Arizona is the little engine that could. I wish them well in their new conference.
  6. I like the Wildcats. They are a scrappy team and they're putting away the Sooners at the moment. Cashing in on a bunch of turnovers. Their linemen aren't as big as the Sooners'. But they have no quit in them. And their QB, this Fifita kid can take teams apart with his ability to pass in the craziest positions. This is one helluva good bowl game. Arizona's coach has done a great job with a team that doesn't have a whole bunch of top stars.
  7. Just saw the matchup. Pardon me while I go and throw up.
  8. I don't pretend to be an expert. I hesitate to criticize the players who must feel awful after what happened on the field. Mike West pointed to a number of examples where the coaching made a huge, call it near-insurmountable, difference. And to lose by a mere 3 miserable points, that tells me that this team could have walked away the winner. The first quarter brought back awful memories of the game against Georgia last year and that painful loss in what may have been the Alamo Bowl a few years back as the other team took the Ducks apart after we had an early lead. I'm sure some in the large national audience watching Friday's game might also have recalled those two games as they watched the Ducks' wheels fall off in that nightmare first quarter. It's a bad look that Oregon will have to shake going forward—in addition to winning.
  9. I'm no pop psychologist but Penix remains a dangerous threat at QB. He releases the ball fast which is tough on pass rushers and had been known for his accuracy, which has suffered lately. Our coverage of his receivers will be key to limiting the dawgs' passing attack. Their run game isn't going to beat the Ducks D, provided we don't get suckered by something like that little trick play that bought them mucho yards at the end of their last game.
  10. Our rushing numbers are not what I expected.
  11. Caleb is gone, NFL bound. Frankly he'd be nuts to jeopardize a lucrative package with the possibility of suffering an injury on any college team. And if the trojans make it to a bowl he just might sit that out as well, for the same reason.
  12. Glad it's not my problem.
  13. Chip Kelly put Oregon football on the map, introduced me to the Ducks, and hooked me on the team above all others that continues to this day. I'll always be grateful for what he did at Oregon.
  14. We are. And breathing a bit easier at the moment.
  15. There's something about Riley that really annoys me. I don't know what it is but every time they show him mouthing at the officials or screaming about something I want to smack him in the kisser.
  16. Shooting ourselves in the webfoot.
  17. Caleb unquestionably has the talent to win games but that's paired with behavioral tendencies that are problematic. Those are warning signs flashing RED to all but the most desperate NFL MG. Which just happens to be the guy who will get to pick first. I don't mean to put the kibosh on the kid's future—he can still change things—but it does bring to mind the whole Johnny Manziel situation.
  18. Agreed. But teams can only play the teams they are scheduled to play.
  19. Despite their team's obvious weaknesses and Caleb's own tendency to abandon self control he remains a dangerous opponent.
  20. SC has the offensive weapons to make the Ducks pay by scoring points.....utah and cal did not! This game will be close until the entire Duck team breaks the trojans spirit. This will require the Ducks to execute at the highest level for 60 minutes. Nothing less than the Ducks best game in 2023 will be needed to close out the trojans title hopes. I'm in agreement with you. Williams is probably the most dangerous scorer in the conference. He has done a lot to carry that team on his back with their weak defense. He's kept them in many games. The Ducks can't afford a slow start and have to avoid the kind of drive-killing penalties I've seen lately. Take the Trojans out of contention early and don't let up.
