  1. You guys showed up big in early signing!!! Well done Ducks!!! And Bo coming back!!! Sign of great things coming, I couldn’t be more excited for this team!!! Now go wreck NC and end the year with a bang. I’ll be watching and representing the Ducks way down here in South GA!!! Go Ducks!!!
  2. I haven’t read through this thread yet, but I gotta say this is great news!!! I’m very much looking forward to watching Bo lead the Ducks offense next season. He is an absolute baller that plays with heart. This is wonderful news!
  3. I think Garrett Riley would be an excellent hire. Do you think it’s a realistic possibility? Could he be enticed to leave TCU for the same position at Oregon?
  4. In that case I usually take two. Joking, but not really
  5. “The idea the Georgia game was on a neutral field was a joke.” Absolutely, and I said the same on this forum before the game. It’s a very obvious point, all one need do is look at ticket sales or heck just look at the colors in the stands. I don’t think it was a bad game to schedule. How could anyone know that GA would be that good or that the Ducks would be playing their first game with a brand new coaching staff and scheme 4 years ago. And honestly, if Oregon were to beat or play a top SEC team close it is awesome for SOS.
  6. I also think it’s Strouds to lose at this point, just bc that’s the way the wind blows at this point. Who knows though, a week ago most were thinking Hendon Hooker. If Bo keeps playing like he has, he might actually win the heisman. Stroud is very good, but tOSU really hasn’t played a strong schedule. If he shows out against UM he wins it. If not, Bo has a good chance if he continues playing like he has. Nix is deserving, there is no doubt.
  7. Yeah, I’m not sure who the best QB in the nation is, but Nix is in the conversation. Here is my top 4 at QB in no particular order: 1. Bo Nix - Just incredible play. Maybe we should get him a cape. 2. Bryce Young - Dude is just good. His mechanics, escapability, and vision downfield are off the charts. 3. CJ Stroud - Honestly haven’t watched him a ton, but enough to know he is very good. 4. Drake Maye - The Young Tar-heel. Red Shirt freshman, but this kid can ball. I’ve watched him play a bit this year and he lives up to the hype. I’m sure he has some rough games in his future against more talented teams, but this kid is fun to watch play. Bonus: Hendon Hooker is also worthy of mention. Other than last Saturday his play has been fantastic.
  8. It’s brief, but it’s kinda funny. This certainly isn’t their best episode. I just thought it was cool that TN mentions Nix.
  9. Yeah, I honestly think if GA plays to potential they will likely beat anyone, but they don’t always play that way. No team is unbeatable, but GA is very good. The amount of talent and depth really gives GA an edge on most teams. We have two tough road games coming up, if we aren’t up for those games Miss St and Kentucky are both capable of an upset. Gotta say I’m really excited about the Dawgs and the Ducks! I think the Ducks have a good shot at making the playoff. If so, and the Dawgs don’t falter down the stretch, that rematch would absolutely be must see TV! I would be extremely happy if the Ducks and Dawgs played for the title. I’d be very nervous also.
  10. Yeah, if Nix keeps playing anywhere close to how he has been he should at the very least get invited to NY. If not, I’m absolutely calling BS. He he keeps playing the way he has, I think he might actually win the heisman.
  11. Good weekend for the Ducks! Clemson and Bama going down is huge. I don’t think the committee will drop TN below the Ducks, but I do think Oregon moves up to six. Pretty good place to be. I don’t see TCU winning out and UM and tOSU still have to play. If the Ducks win out and win the Pac, I like their chances to get in the playoff. It’s certainly not a given, but it’s certainly possible. Things look much better now than they did in September.
  12. Yeah, I don’t see DL being interested in the Auburn job. I mean money talks, but Oregon’s paying him close to 5 mil a year. That’s pretty good for a first time head coach, and with the progress shown, I assume Oregon will probably make his contract more lucrative soon enough. Yes Auburn has money to burn, but they have paid some hefty buyouts lately. I really don’t believe Auburn would offer DL enough money to even think about leaving Oregon. IMO it would take an amazing deal for a coach that’s only been a HC one year. Also, Lanning isn’t likely to be crazy about heading to the dumpster fire position in which Auburn currently sits. It’s tough enough to win consistently in the SEC, especially the west. It would take a ridiculous amount of guaranteed money to pull him away from Oregon and into that I think. Not to mention, if I’m remembering correctly Oregon has a history of being pretty loyal to their HC. Don’t get me wrong, I do love the South. But if it was me, after living in Canada in the past for a good while, I believe I’d pick Eugene over Auburn. Sure I’d miss the South, family, and friends. But I wouldn’t miss the heat and humidity. The South is beautiful, but from what I hear so is Oregon. Yep, it would take a whole lot to pull DL away from Oregon IMO.
  13. 52-17 Ducks 2 Turnovers 3 Sacks 286 yards passing
  14. That’s a tough question. I think it boils down to a few unknowns at this point. How much better will Oregon’s D be at that point? As good as Oregon’s offense is, how will they matchup against a seemingly elite GA defense? Maybe most important, how well will GA play? It’s reasonable to think that GA might come into such a game overconfident. And if they did Oregon would absolutely take advantage. The Ducks got embarrassed on Sept. 3 and I can guarantee that they would come into such a game like their tail feathers were on fire. If this be the case, Oregon might grab momentum early and who knows from there? In contrast to the last paragraph, (granted, coming from one who bleeds GA Red and Black) if they were to meet again it would be in the playoff. GA is a very well coached team, the chances of them coming out flat in a playoff game are extremely low. Bo Nix has had a tough time with GA defenses, but I gotta admit he looks great running Dillingham’s offense. He is due to have a banner day against the Dawgs. I think he probably would have a good day, but IMHO probably not good enough. I think in the end the Dawgs talent and depth probably win the day. My guess is 45-31 Dawgs. But close until the 4th. Really who knows though. Much will be learned about GA in the next few weeks. FL coming up and TN looming. And the Ducks seem to get better every week. As I’ve said on other threads, the Ducks offense gives them a chance in any game.
  15. No I don’t think the score of that first game accurately represents the difference between the two teams. As I’ve said on another thread, I think that game was kind of a perfect storm for a disastrous start for the Ducks. First time this and that etc……. Also, GA played very good football that day. IMO the biggest advantage GA has on Oregon and almost every team is talent and depth especially on defense. There have been several games this season where GA hasn’t played very well and their depth really showed late in those games. I think Oregon’s offense gives them a chance to win any game. Great scheme, great offensive line, and playmakers all over. The way Bo is playing is incredible, and not just physically, he is making great decisions. And I think the Ducks defense is improving every week. They’ve greatly improved their tackling and alignment since that first game. What will happen if they play again? Not sure, but I’m confident it would not resemble the game played on Sept. 3. Honestly, I think if GA plays well, and specifically if Bennet plays well, they probably take care of business against Oregon. On the other hand, if GA plays like they did against Mizzou or Kent St., Oregon would win and probably convincingly. As stated earlier, Oregon’s offense would give them a chance to win against anyone.
  16. Hendon Hooker. Yeah, he is really good. They still have to come into Sanford Stadium and face GA. If he and TN put up big numbers on the Dawgs and win then he will sway a ton of votes his way. Easier said than done though. But who knows, TN has looked good and GA certainly hasn’t looked indestructible lately. Two weeks from now is a huge weekend for the SEC. Bama plays LSU for the lead in the west and TN plays GA for the lead in the east. Of coarse this is assuming TN beats KY and GA beats FL this coming week. KY and FL aren’t pushover teams so you never know. I can remember many times we were supposed to beat FL and didn’t.
  17. I think Nix should be in the conversation for the heisman trophy, and if he keeps playing the way he has the past six games he should be invited to the ceremony. While anything can happen, I honestly think that if Stroud stays healthy and tOSU doesn’t get beat down in a big game, Stroud will win the heisman. Not saying I agree or disagree, I just think the voters will choose him over anyone else. A lot of football left to play so we will see.
  18. I think this is another place the Ducks will benefit from CDL’s attitude towards the game. I think much like Kirby he will strive to keep players focused on the task at hand. The old cliche line “be where your feet are” attitude. A true trap game starts in the practices leading up to the game. It could happen, but I have the feeling Oregon’s coaching staff is not a staff that will allow for this to be a problem.
  19. Agree, improvement is definitely showing. It’s easy to overlook the defense with the offense clicking like this. But the D played solid against a very good offense. Things are looking up in Eugene. Keep the pedal to the floor!!!
