Dillingham coached Bo at Auburn and Lanning and Tosh coached against Bo as DCs at Georgia and Alabama. Therefore, they had plenty of opportunities to assess Bo’s strengths and weaknesses before offering him a spot at Oregon. His talent was too good to pass up, with an unproven QB room. Trust our coaches. They have proven in a short period of time that they know how to evaluate and develop talent. If they don’t bring in an experienced QB transfer to compete against TT then they have TONS of confidence in our QB room. If they are wrong, 2024 could be a long year. Are they willing to go through a potential “rebuilding” year to set up for a run in 2025 and 2026? I have faith that our coaches will do the right thing for Oregon’s football program.

Unforeseen QUADRUPLE Payoff Over Next Two Games!

If Jonathan Smith takes the MSU job, we’d be facing his team in the B1G. I personally hope he stays at OSU. -
Big Recruiting Push for 2024 Class Coming Up
OregonDucks replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It’s obvious that Lanning and Lupoi believe that having a disruptive defensive line is critical to having an elite defense with how they are recruiting. However, the number of D-line recruits both this year and last makes me wonder if they are stocking up talent to prevent other teams (e.g., USC, Washington) from getting these studs. Bring them in and let the cream rise to the top. -
Will the Oregon Ducks Face Michigan in the Rose Bowl?
OregonDucks replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I believe that Michigan will lose to Ohio State this weekend. I’m hoping the game will be a blowout. -
I was curious about this after the game so I looked it up. Both of the USC players who posed for pictures with Bo were transfers from Auburn.

I believe that they knew exactly what they had to work with in the Oregon QB room after speaking with former coaches and watching tape. QB is the most important position in football. There is no way that the incoming coaches didn’t do their homework.

Caleb is projected as a top 5 NFL draft pick, so it ain’t gonna happen. However, in your hypothetical scenario, there is no way that Dan Lanning, Will Stein and company would turn a player of his caliber away. I have not heard that he is poison in the locker room or trouble off the field. Plus, the meltdown by Trojan fans would be worth it!!!

Amen. I’m sure that they’ll do something special to celebrate him on Friday. -
Juicy Quotes from the ESPN Crew Towards Oregon...Whew!

“If Oregon wins both their next two games...they will be in the Playoffs.” This is also my favorite quote. Herbstreit left no doubt or ambiguity, and he’s one of the most respected college football media members who will have a huge platform to push for Oregon’s inclusion in the playoffs, if they take care of business the next 2 weeks. -

I would have also preferred yellow pants. -
Lanning’s Culture Is Paying Dividends in November

What’s ironic is that Cristobal also coached at Bama and wanted Oregon to play physical football. Lanning and Lupoi have actually done it. -
I love those uniforms and wish we were wearing just green and yellow for this Civil War.

My personal favorite play against Oregon State was Keenan Howry’s punt return for a TD. If I recall correctly, the rain started to come down even harder immediately after this TD to the cheers of the Oregon fans. It was like we were getting a little assist from someone up above.

There’s always this gem.

Just like NCAA basketball there will be lots of talk about the bubble teams and who got “left out.” If they do it with a field of 64+ they’ll certainly do it with football.

Lanning’s Culture Is Paying Dividends in November

Having the depth to rotate guys in and out also has a huge benefit. It saves wear and tear over a long season, while also developing the 2s and 3s. -
As of right now, I’m not sure how much more respect the PAC-12 could get. Washington is now ranked in the top 4 in the college football playoff rankings and Oregon is the highest ranked one loss team. If Oregon wins out they should be in the playoffs. Look dominant doing so to leave no doubt.

Lanning’s Culture Is Paying Dividends in November

I can’t recall a more physical Oregon football team. They flat out punish and beat up opponents on both sides of the ball. Teams do not look the same after they play Oregon. That is part of the culture that Lanning and company are creating in Eugene. -
Just Came to My Senses About the Pac-12

It’ll be interesting to see if Lanning takes his foot off the gas against Oregon State and Washington, if given the opportunity. Seems like if Oregon wants to ensure a spot in the playoffs and Bo the Heisman, we need to dominate our remaining opponents. -
If Oregon and Washington are playing in the conference championship game, can we request B1G refs?
-
I guess your team’s record matters only if you don’t play in the SEC.

That pick in the Colorado game happened right in front of me. The receiver had a step or two on the DB. It was a good decision and if Bo had put some more air under the ball it likely would have been a TD. That just shows you the level that Bo has been playing at: 1st pick - good decision, just a little off on the throw 2nd pick - deflection off his receiver’s hands in what should have been a routine catch That’s it! Bo has been nearly flawless the entire season and is leading the #1 scoring offense in all of college football with currently the highest QB completion rate in CFB history.

Yes, I feel it. This year’s team is different. However, one of the biggest differences this year, is that there is no team that is head and shoulders better than everyone else, like we’ve seen with Georgia or Alabama in prior seasons. Any team that makes the college football playoffs this year has a legitimate shot to win the national championship. That is why I’m really hoping the Ducks can make it this year. They are as good as any team in the country, led by the Heisman Trophy front runner. GO DUCKS!!! Beat the Beavs.

I could be wrong but I believe that he currently has the highest season completion percentage in NCAA history. Hopefully he’ll keep it up. That would be an amazing record to break.
