  1. Oregon is also pursuing a Michigan TE commit. Four-star Michigan football tight end commit Andrew Olesh offered by Oregon WWW.SI.COM In the world of recruiting, nothing is final until a prospect puts pen to...
  2. LOL. Someone should give him box seats right behind the USC bench. It’ll be great to see him chewing his gum and reacting on TV…
  3. So happy for Bo! As John Elway said there is a big jump from pre-season to the regular season and all young quarterbacks go through their ups and downs (even John Elway and Peyton Manning). Sean Peyton is a great quarterback coach so it'll be fun to watch. I'm sure that Bo will get a warm reception in Seattle for his first NFL regular season start.
  4. So, what you’re saying is, it’s been a little while?
  5. I love it. When was the last time Oregon had a football game on NBC?
  6. Would be very uncomfortable, if I were Lincoln Riley…
  7. Bill Belichick: Rookie Bo Nix And Denver Coach Sean Payton Look Like Perfect Fit WWW.SI.COM Former Oregon Duck quarterback Bo Nix is off to a hot start to his NFL rookie campaign. In his first... “Nix is catching the attention of legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick, who says Nix and Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton are a perfect fit.” “Sean's offense is a very fast offense," Belichick said. "They don't go no huddle, but they substitute fast. They call the play. They get up the line of scrimmage. And once the snap everything's moving fast as fast as anybody in the league so there's a lot of mental processing and decision making that has to take place in a hurry." Though Coach Belichick cautioned that NFL teams run very vanilla defense in the pre-season.
  8. I read an article that Marcus has looked better than expected and may be named the starter for week 1. He’ll have to play really good to keep the job though.
  9. Do Husky fans fall under “irritants” and will they be banned from B1G games?* * Asking for a “friend”
  10. Although it’s only preseason (and the Packers didn’t play their starters), Bo Nix has looked very comfortable in his two pre-season games and is likely to be named the starting QB for the Denver Broncos. He is gong through his progressions and looking the safety off, like a veteran QB. Hopefully the young QBs take note that it pays to be patient and get the experience in college playing the position. Bo finished the night 8-9 for 80 yards and a TD (note: he had another passing TD called back). What if Nix has the most successful NFL career of all of the QBs drafted last year? It’s certainly possible with his skill set and playing for Coach Sean Peyton. Broncos rookie QB Bo Nix has fantastic performance as he gets closer to starting job WWW.YAHOO.COM The Broncos had to be thrilled with what they saw from Bo Nix.
  11. Wish Oregon would just stick with yellow, except for blackouts at big night games. Make it simple for fans.
  12. I’ve always looked at the average star rating, as that is more important than the total (quality over quantity). It’s also important not to fill all the spots with high school recruits to leave some room for high-impact transfers, in positions of need.
  13. Wow, that article makes Dan Lanning sound like the perfect head football coach that would come out of the lab. He couldn’t have paid someone to write up a better article. If I were Dan Lanning, I would print a copy and frame it in my office and send it to all the potential recruits. All kidding aside, we all know that we need to see better game planning, execution and decisions in the “big games”. The article highlights that Coach Lanning is ultra competitive and learns quickly, so we can only hope that he can turn into one of the top in game managers in college football and win a national championship (or multiple).
  14. Dillon Gabriel is listed as 5’11”. Not sure if it’s accurate but that would put him at the same height as Russell Wilson and Kurt Warner.
  15. With the expanded playoff, if you go 10-2 you should make the playoff in the B1G or SEC. (Note: I would predict a 11-1 or 10-2 record for Oregon with a loss to Ohio State and/or one of the road games - Michigan or Wisconsin- late in the season). Which brings up the question - would you rather play in the conference championship game (with the possibility to host a home playoff game) or sit at 10-2, missing the conference championship game, but have an extra bye week heading into the playoffs?
  16. I believe that that was undefeated in the regular season. He liked Oregon’s advantage at QB and that the game is at home.
  17. I always thought that CBS had the best football broadcast of the major networks. Their coverage of the SEC was clean (and biased). Now we get that treatment…thank you very much ESPN/ABC! Of course, Keith Jackson and our Dan Fouts are the best collage football announcing team in the history of college football.
  18. The CBS Sports commentators, including Slick Rick, were very complimentary about Dillon Gabriel and what he could do this year in Oregon's offense under OC Will Stein ("match made in Heaven"). One of the commentators, a Texas alum, is glad that his team won't have to face Dillion Gabriel during the regular season. * 125 TDs (42 last year, including 12 rushing TDs) to only 26 interceptions * Makes great decisions - hasn't thrown more than 6 interceptions in a season * May be the best running QB at Oregon since Marcus Mariota - can pick up first downs and TDs with his legs * Great teammate, confident, not cocky * Look out Big-10!
  19. There should be immediate playing time available at Oregon, if he can come in ready...
  20. Good theme. I agree with most of your picks (although you cheated a little by picking multiple players): 1. Dillon Gabriel: DG fills the most important position in football and has the potential to be even better than Bo Nix, IMHO. Dillon proved last year that he can win the BIG one carrying Oklahoma over Texas. 2. Jabbar Muhammad: We all saw how Oregon’s defense struggled last season when Kyrie Jackson was banged up. While we have depth at CB, I’m not sure we had a lock down corner on our roster who can go up against the other team’s #1 receiver. Jabbar is that guy. 3. Derrick Harmon: Entering the B1G, Oregon desperately needed that run stopper in the middle. Derrick completes the d-line and will allow those behind him to play better. Honorable mention: Atticus Sappington (PK): Hopefully we don’t even notice him this season but we’ve all suffered through some bad place kickers over the years in Eugene. Atticus was one of the best in the nation last year making 13 of his 14 attempts. It’s a bonus that we got him from Oregon State on our way out of the PAC-12… I didn’t include Evan Stewart because Oregon’s WR room is loaded. However, I would be surprised if he doesn’t have over 1,000 yards this season and he brings that down the field threat.
  21. Broncos QB Nix leads four scoring drives in preseason debut - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM Rookie Bo Nix led the Broncos on four scoring drives in the five possessions he played Sunday...
  22. I'm hoping that Oregon makes the playoff (I don't care if they have 2 or 3 losses), is playing their best football late in the season and wins it all!
