Oregon May NOT Have a Baseball Super-Regional at Home?
Tandaian replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Ems are moving their games this weekend. For those of you who don't live in Eugene, the Emeralds are looking to build their own stadium. MLB has informed them, they have to have their own stadium. That was part of the deal, when they went to long season single A. -
I heard talking heads discuss that same thing. Presidents of Universities don't like having to do uncomfortable things. Telling MW they are leaving, then if the Pac doesn't invite them, say just kidding. MW wouldn't kick them out, but it does make it official they are looking to leave. Makes conference meetings awkward going forward. SDSU is definitely a top 3 school in the MW, so they sort of get do what they want, but people like to keep things comfortable.

I know Nike isn't a professional team, but I would think Nike would have the biggest conflict of interest of anybody on the planet. I think it is weird, but I won't complain. He can just give Michigan St. collective money and then that collective can dish out the NIL money. I doubt he is done giving money to the athletic department. -
The Pac 12, B1G Ten and B12 all play 9 conference games and more than half play a P5 school OOC every year. I don't get the logic in 10 games vs P5 schools is an outlandish idea. The only teams this season not playing a P5 OOC from those 3 conferences are: Michigan, Oregon State and UCLA TCU Colorado KSU Missouri Texas Alabama Texas Tech Oregon OSU ASU Baylor UTAH Oklahoma none Kansas Illinois WVU Penn St. Pitt Iowa St. Iowa Michigan None tOSU Notre Dame Penn St. WVU Maryland Virginia MSU UW Indiana Louisville Rutgers Va Tech Purdue Va Tech Syracuse Illinois Kansas Iowa Iowa St. Minnesota UNC Wisconsin WSU Nebraska Colorado Northwestern Duke USC Notre Dame UW MSU Oregon Texas Tech Utah Florida Baylor OSU None UCLA None WSU Wisconsin Arizona Mississippi St. Cal Auburn ASU Oklahoma St. Stanford Notre Dame Colorado TCU Nebraska

USC Football Games on Peacock in the Big Ten? That's not Acceptable
Tandaian replied to NJDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I know some things on Peacock are free to watch. I wonder if football games are free. I have HBO, Netflix, Prime Video, Paramount+ and DishTV. It is getting a bit silly with all these al a cart TV channels. -

I'm not sure why UGA and UF are OK with the game in Jacksonville. I understand they each take home 3.5 million every year, instead of making money every other year. However, just quick math, UGA has 92K seats and UF has 88K seats. $100 tickets is 9.2 mil and 8.8 mil from ticket sales only. I know each team would have to pay for staffing for the game, but it seems like they would make more money hosting the game every other year. Of course, my math must be off otherwise they would not be hosting the game in Jacksonville every year. I know the Huskies have tried to convince WSU to have the Apple Cup game at the Seahawk stadium every year. I'm sure WSU would actually make more money with it played in Seattle every year, but the school has made it a priority to have home games.

The Atlantic and Pacific Conference. This Could Work IF ...
Tandaian replied to Jon Joseph's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It is an intriguing thought, however why would ESPN be a willing participant when the ACC teams essentially gave them the middle finger. ESPN negotiated in good faith. ACC was extremely happy when they announced the contract. I don't think ESPN is going to be happy about paying millions more when they thought had their product locked in until 2036. I'm not sure it is as easy as 8 teams saying I quit to the ACC. Pissing off your TV partner isn't a great business decision for future negotiations.
