  1. Prediction: 5-Star to Oregon | Charlotte Observer Today, I'm logging a prediction for Oregon to land 2024 Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei offensive tackle Brandon Baker.
  2. Oregon Football’s Dream 2024 Recruiting Class 1.0 | Rock Hill Herald (heraldonline.com)
  3. Former Liberty guard Kennedi Williams signs with Oregon women’s basketball WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM A 5-foot-7 guard, Williams averaged 7.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.4 steals while starting all 33 games for the Flame last season
  4. Most colleges athletic departments run a deficit. I'm pulling a random number, but something like only 30 colleges athletic departments make an actual profit.
  5. It will be very interesting to see the B1G football schedule. Are they really going to alternate USC and UCLA having 7:00 pm kick offs with each receiving six 7:00 pm games?
  6. True, the opponent does matter, but having more than one Friday night game, not including Black Friday, makes it tough. I'm glad I live in Eugene, so I can usually make most games, no matter the time or weather conditions.
  7. Friday night games would leave Autzen stadium with a lot of empty seats. I don't know the percentages, but I suspect close to 50% of season ticket holders do not live within 30 miles of Autzen stadium. I know 50% of my tailgate lives in Portland.
  8. Oregon Football is killing it on the recruiting trail after another commitment SATURDAYBLITZ.COM Oregon football is having a really strong month and landing its fourth commitment on Monday which will move the Ducks into the top five of 247 team ranking...
  9. I think we need to remember that USC is likely not doing much for Bronny James. He signed his deals before even choosing USC. USC (450K) and Washington (502K) need to stop whining about uncle Phil. Oregon has 195K alumni. I have no idea if I'm right in my thought process, but going to universities in big cities I tend to think the alumni would then eventually live in a big city. Same goes for going to school in a smaller town, you would tend to lean living in a smaller town. Big city tends to mean bigger salaries, smaller towns tends to mean smaller salaries. Of course, there isn't always a direct correlation, but I think on average UW and USC alumni are making more money than UO grads and there are way more than them. I'm not paying Bo, but I think him being paid over a million dollars is probably about right for a known entity.
  10. I'm confused on how only some student athletes will be unionized. I believe the NCAA requires all athletes to be treated equal? Unionizing only 3 sports, makes that unequal. I'm not sure how the unions can win. I'm not sure what angle they are trying for. The majority of the NIL money goes to those 3 sports, so they are already treated better than the other sports. Making those 3 sports "special" is a great way to destroy the rest of college sports. I'm not sure the courts will want to do that.
  11. For fun on where the Ducks currently rank in the 2024 recruiting class. I'm not going to include USC or UCLA as next closest Pac 12 school, since they won't be with the Pac 12 in 2024. ESPN #9, none ESPN only does top 25. On3 #9, next closest Colorado #22 24/7 #7, Colorado #34 Rivals #7, Colorado #35
  12. South Carolina isn't leaving the SEC. I don't see the Pac 10 willing let Arizona leave because of their basketball history. The additional teams for the ACC would likely be Virginia, Va Tech, Duke and NCST. Although, how do you leave out Syracuse and their NY market?
  13. So, ACC votes to dissolve the conference. It sounds like Fox and ESPN don't have much money left to pony up. I'm not sure even FSU, Miami or Clemson have enough to get an equal share of the pie if they were to change conferences. It would likely be more than what they are getting from their current contract, but I don't think they could come in as equal partners.
  14. I'm not on the Deion's bandwagon yet. I think he has upgraded the roster for sure, but is it really enough to get him to 6-6? I don't think so. I think they have wins vs Colorado St. and Stanford. They might beat Nebraska and ASU. After that, I don't see who they beat.
  15. I have no idea why the ACC signed a 20 year deal. No way ESPN lets them get out of it.
  16. SOS is based on last years records, so just like preseason rankings, don't mean much at this point. However, they seem to be giving a ton of credit to Notre Dame and none to Texas Tech. Notre Dame was 9-4, Texas Tech 8-5. Ducks are on the road for Utah and UW, while USC gets them both at home. I don't seem much of a difference between Portland St./Hawaii and San Jose St. and Nevada. I guess San Jose is just that much better than Portland St. 20 spots seems like a lot, but it is all based on math, so I wonder if the actual math difference is all that much.
  17. I feel like this is the talking heads telling us which NFL teams won the draft. On paper it does appear the Ducks filled needs, however I'm going to wait until I see results on the field. Same with every other team. I'm excited for the potential of the guys we picked up, but right now that is all it is, potential.
  18. *** Correction needed for the article. *** Kendon Slovis, Jaxon Dart and Miller Moss played QB for USC in 2021, not Caleb Williams. Williams was the QB in Oklahoma. Gary Bryant Jr. never received a pass from Caleb Williams in 2021. However, he did catch 2 passes last year from Williams.
  19. 16 teams with only 9 games means a team won't play 6 other conference members every season. It will be very easy for the B1G to keep the "big boys" from playing everybody in a single season. Same for the SEC. Because of this scheduling quirk, I imagine there will be some pretty tough years, but also some pretty easy years.
  20. After round 2, the lady Ducks sit in 10th place. Top 5 move on. They are 14 shots out of 5th. They did improve from round 1 to round 2, but will need to do significantly better to make up that many strokes.
  21. I counted 41 bowl games then the tile game, which isn't a bowl game. Only the Holiday Bowl (Fox), Sun Bowl (CBS) and Arizona Bowl (Barstool Sports) game aren't shown on ESPN/ABC. When 92% of something is controlled by one entity, it is pretty hard to change things. SF, LA, San Diego and Las Vegas all need to do better to be a more attractive bowl game. Another problem is bowl games have their contracts and they don't all come up at the same time. The Pac 12 can't change their bowl game line up if there isn't another bowl game to take its place.
  22. Not that it happens every time/year, but the teams are supposed to alternate home and away games. Technically speaking, USC having Utah and UW at home this year is correct. However, I do find it odd that USC and UW missed each other 4 out of the previous 5 years. USC Washington Utah 2017 Bye vs Utah 2018 Bye at Utah 2019 at UW vs Utah 2020 Bye at Utah 2021 Bye vs Utah 2022 Bye at Utah I'd say USC has a hard a 2nd half of a season as anybody in college football. 10/14 @ND 10/21 Utah 10/28 @ Cal 11/4 vs UW 11/11 @ UO 11/18 vs UCLA I'm still torn on whether or not having a bye week Thanksgiving weekend is good or bad. It is before the Pac 12 title game, so that is good, but they play 9 straight weeks without a bye. That is not good.
  23. I have aisle seats at Autzen. It took me quite a few years of waiting and moving seats to get to aisle seats. Putting me anywhere that aren't aisle seats, is not a comparable move. I'd definitely be on the phone/web when seating changing happens. However, like you said, there likely isn't going to be much seating left, since they are cramming 12 sections into 9 sections that already had fans sitting in them. Maybe, see if something in 217 or 219 is similar? Opposite end of the court, but close to the corners. Also, if the games are as empty as they have been, you could just go sit in your old seats because they will be empty. Or if you are willing to gamble, buy them as single game tickets and drop you season tickets.
  24. I think every college locker room should post the previous years portal numbers. How many entered, how many got a scholarship with a new team. Even break it down by P5, G5, D2, D3, etc. I know all these kids don't think they will be left out, but it might give them a pause.
  25. Yeah, why would a coach allow practice film out? I doubt they have so many cameras that they can single out every player during drills.
