USC Fans Are....a Little Salty Over Pleasant
Tandaian replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I like how there is a lot of mention how Oregon is pulling kids because of NIL deals. I'm sure that is partially true, however out of the top 10 classes on On3, the Ducks are 9th at 50K average. ND is averaging 48K for the lowest of the top 10 classes. On3 says USC's NIL average is 145K. -
Live Updates: Nyckoles Harbor to South Carolina
Tandaian replied to NJDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
The Oregon Ducks are routinely at the Cross Country, In-Door and Out-Door Track Championships as a team every year. South Carolina hasn't made it as a team since 2015. They are nearly the worst team in the SEC as a track team. He didn't choose South Carolina for track reasons. The last South Carolina Olympian was 2012. The Ducks have had 9 different Olympians since 2012. -

Yep, track and Olympics must not have been as a high as a priority as he mentioned. South Carolina track and field team is not good. -

As another thread mentioned, he is going to South Carolina. I guess track and the Olympics isn't as important as I thought. -

New Updates: 5-Star Nyckoles Harbor Recruitment...Whew!
Tandaian replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I was reviewing previous Track and Field Championships. It isn't good for Maryland or South Carolina. Neither hardly puts athletes in the Championships and neither had anybody score for them the last 2 years. If track truly is part of his decision, I can't see him choosing Maryland or South Carolina. -
Too Late? Dana Now Has the Team He Imagined...
Tandaian replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
"We know how good he is and what he’s capable of,” senior starting guard Jermaine Couisnard said. “He’s young, so he doesn’t understand how hard you have to play at this level. 12COMMENTS "He came from high school. Nobody’s probably told him he has to play this hard against people who are just gonna compete. He’s gotta learn that and take it day-by-day; listen to the older guys and what we see out there." Not good when your teammates know you aren't putting in 100% effort. -

Justin Herbert Contract Prediction...Wowza!
Tandaian replied to Babyjesus615's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
No player in any sport should ever receive a contract longer than 5 years. It is 100% silly. Do some guys deserve it, yep. However, things change so fast, it is terrible business practice. Like Just Ducky said, it would severely handicap the Chargers. Justin is that valuable to that team, but we have seen what paying 1 guy so much does to the overall team. The guy is a cheater, but Tom Brady never took too much. His highest average salary was this year at 25 mil. 15th highest this season. Half of Rodgers and Wilson. -

Finally! Matayo Uiagalelei Gets 5-Stars on Rivals

Now that they all have signed with the Ducks, stars don't matter! Time to put in work and get better playing college football. -
Gottlieb is a talking head wanting clicks. Bronny will absolutely be a circus for any school he goes to. However, it will be much better than the Ball fiasco at UCLA. Lebron, as a father, hasn't been making headlines talking about his kids. Bronny, from the many articles I have read, has always been a team player. Could Bronny be over hyped and not help the team he plays for, absolutely. However, I don't think it would be better to come in 2nd. Whatever team he plays for, will be on national TV for likely over half of their games. I also think Dana would be a strong enough coach, not to play Bronny just because of who his father is. I'm not sure tOSU or the USC coach could say the same thing.

Seems about right. He was initially a 1st round pick before the 2022 season was played.
-
Bronny is a 4*, and 35th ish in the country. We'll see if he gets a boost with his last name. However, I have watched a few of his games. He is good, but it is hard to tell how good when they are high school kids.

Need to have this in the contract. Any time there is a game between 2 ranked teams, there has to be live broadcasters. Or any time there is a game between the top 4 teams in the Pac 12, there needs to be alive broadcasters. If you don't have it in writing, they don't have to do it, even though it would seem to be implied.

Which Pac-12 schools garnered the biggest TV ratings in 2022? WWW.YAHOO.COM In the new world of conference realignment, TV ratings have become incredibly important. Take a look at who led the Pac-12 in ratings during the 2022 season.

Pac 12 did USC no favors and honestly did Oregon favors. We don't play two top four teams back to back. Not true for UW, OSU, Utah and USC. If you did read the whole article, he made it very clear the Pac 12 made a favorable schedule last year for USC. He also made it very clear Kliavkoff knows where the future is going with the Pac 12. USC certainly didn't get the worst of the Pac 12 schedule, but it wasn't as nice as the Ducks. The article does come off as crybaby, but 8 out of 12 teams voted for it. It wasn't like Oregon got to pick the schedule any more than USC did last year.

Wowza...Ready for Another YOUNG Oregon Football Team?
Tandaian replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
The Freshman and RS Freshman won't see much of the field this year. Hopefully, only in garbage time. The only Freshman on the 2 deep are 2 WRs and our punter. 2023 Oregon Ducks Football Depth Chart | Ourlads.com WWW.OURLADS.COM The most accurate, up to date College Football Depth Charts and Rosters on the net. -
I know everybody pads the books, but as far as I am aware, around 90% of colleges athletic departments don't make money. I'm not sure how accurate that is, but it will reduce the number of Olympic sports. I doubt the penalties would be more the amount of money lost if they kept the sports. You would essentially have football and men's basketball and no other men's sports. Then, however many women sports would be required to stay compliant with Title IX.

Duck and Pac 12 Football 2023 Schedule Released
Tandaian replied to Tandaian's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
As it currently stands, the Ducks don't have to play back to back top 4 Pac 12 teams. Technically, they also don't have back to back road games, although they do play @Stanford on 9/30 and @UW on 10/14, without another game in between. Oregon's schedule with their opponents the team they play before the Ducks. Utah is @ USC, USC plays UW at home and OSU plays UW at home. The Ducks do catch a break with the schedule. PSU 1st week Texas Tech plays at Wyoming they went 7-6 this season. Hawaii plays Stanford Colorado plays Colorado State Stanford plays Arizona UW BYE WSU plays Arizona Utah plays @ USC Cal plays USC USC plays UW ASU plays @ UCLA OSU plays UW OSU back to back 11/18 UW 11/24 @ Oregon USC back to back 10/14 @ ND 10/21 Utah 11/4 UW 11/11 @ Oregon 11/18 UCLA Utah back to back 9/2 Florida 9/9/ @ Baylor 9/23 UCLA 9/29 @ OSU 10/21 @ USC 10/28 Oregon Washington 11/4 @ USC 11/11 Utah 11/18 @ OSU 11/25 WSU -
Duck and Pac 12 Football 2023 Schedule Released
Tandaian replied to Tandaian's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I never read the Pac 12 was going to go to 8 conference games. There was certainly discussion on the topic, but not firm plans. 3 out of 5 conferences play 9 conference games, I'd think the SEC and ACC would move to 9. Surprisingly, Saban has been one who is in favor of going to 9.
