  1. Great article. Total agree on everything. As much as I'm grateful for Coach Kelly and what he did for Oregon it's long been time to move on from those days. I think the UCLA win turned the page for the program and now they can start looking forward instead of holding on to the past. The balanced offense approach looks great instead of just speed all the time.
  2. Great article, I've been wondering how Auburn fan has been feeling. There's another article about Bo from Dodd where coach Dillingham talks about their thinking down there. Talk about unrealistic expectations. What a dumpster fire. I'm glad they got out of there. It's nice to see him finally get some love. Count me among those who were a little skeptical when he came here. I figured he'd be better than our quarterback last year but happily he has exceeded my expectations. If he gets into the right system at the next level he could do some damage.
  3. Interesting comments from Mario in that column. I give him credit for "helping to rebuild the brand" after Slick Willie with recruiting but I've seen a couple of other comments from him and some media folks giving him credit for what's happening THIS year. It's very infuriating. The reality is that if he is still here Nix, Irving, Dillingham, Lupoi I think is DC's last name, and on and on wouldn't have even of thought about coming here. We probably would have lost other players to portal. Once again his pride won't let him acknowledge that a brand new 1st year coach is getting better results from his players in 7 games than Mario did in 5 years. As for Lanning, great story about what seems like a genuine dude. I don't know how long he stays. I don't think there is forever in sports. But I'm going to enjoy the ride and be thankful for him and to him for making Duck football fun again for everyone including his players.
  4. Only thing better than watching what is going on in South Florida is wondering what Auburn fan is thinking right now. They blamed Bo for everything and laughed when he transferred here. I thought he'd be good here but man he's killing it right now.
  5. Ugh, wake me when this is all over and there are actual announcements made.
  6. Just read a good article from Wilner who along with Canzano have been big PAC 12 advocates. Even he is stating that the PAC will dissolve at some point, the BIG 10 will expand their western pod, and the four corners schools will leave for the BIG 12 leaving 3 super conferences. He called it inevitable. He thinks 5 years, I personally believe it will be sooner. I like yours and everyone's optimism but I just don't see it happening. Time will tell
  7. It's your site Charles, run it how you like. If people don't like it, oh well. The only issue I have with the 3 examples you gave is calling people names like "Turnover Thompson ". The reason I check out this site is people can post their thoughts and not get insulted. That's why I'm not on Twitter. I also don't see any problem like some other folks with criticism of current players/coaches as long as it is not personal and is related to football. I know that this is just sports and not a reflection of someone's value as a human being. But as you pointed out where is the line? I think we are all big boys and girls and know an insult when we see it. These are just my opinions and some may disagree which is OK. If everyone agreed on every thing than this world would be boring. I would say don't change a thing. The rules are the rules, if you won't follow them then you don't need to post here.
  8. I think the O line is a prime example of why so many of us were frustrated with Marioball. It wasn't that he likes to run the ball, he never developed his players. Hats off to him for recruiting them but that was it. In the half season they have played under the current coaches look how dominant they are starting to become. That never happened under Mario in my opinion despite all the promises.
  9. Who cares? Just keep winning games and this will all be taken care of at the end of season. Just focus on Arizona. BTW there are a lot of Cats fans on social media already penciling in a win over the Ducks on Sat.
  10. Hope you and everyone else stays safe. Florida is getting hammered. We were going to move there but got delayed until next year. Anyway, I'm looking forward to game as well but being a life long Duck I will never pick, bet my hard earned money on, or root for that school up North. Chip being a former Duck makes it that much easier. Although I think UCLA is a pretender I hope they blow them out.
  11. There's noone I know who thinks Mario is a bad dude. And him leaving to go back home to his alma mater and/or to be with his mom before she passed is understandable. The issue for me is the pride/stubbornness that he has shown at Oregon and now at Miami. His unwillingness to change is absolutely breathtaking. He is his own worst enemy. Say what you want about Nick Saban, he was smart enough to realize he needed to evolve as college football changed. Mario can't seem to do that. As for "pounding on him". Yeah it's a little petty. But I don't care. For years some of us were begging him to change but he told us all to pound sand, that he knows best. Then last year when the heat got turned up and we booed, not the players but the scheme, he quit on all of us including his players. You can't convince me otherwise. So yes, I'm going to enjoy watching him take the Willie Taggert coaching route and enjoy watching the Ducks playing to win each week. Could he possibly figure it out? Maybe but I doubt it.
  12. Yes, there's a lot to fixed from players and coaches going forward. But can we just enjoy winning a really good game for awhile? The Ducks never quit and fought till the end. Haven't seen that type of resilience in awhile It reminded me of the game during the Harrington years, I think it was ASU. On another note, I feel bad for all of you who put money on the Ducks to cover. That is the definition of a bad beat.
  13. Yikes . What a dumpster fire. In all my years I've never heard of anything like that going on.
  14. I would just like to respectfully point out that the Ducks already do have a hockey team. Just not at the NCAA level yet. The thinking is if they join the hockey team would rise to that level and join the BIG 10 thus needing a new arena. I get what your saying. None of us including Canzano, Wilner, Dodd, Mcmurphy, etc know exactly what is going on. At this point I'll react when there's an actual announcement made. Until then I'm just going to enjoy watching Duck games and not having to suffer through Marioball again. But that's for another thread.
  15. FWIW, Greg Flugaur, who is a BIG 10 "insider " who has actually been pretty accurate with all this stuff is reporting that someone he claims is a money person at Oregon is saying that the Ducks are being extremely aggressive trying to get into the BIG 10. He says they're not concerned about the amount offered to join and that they are willing to expand the sports being offered to include hockey and building a new hockey arena. He says Oregon will not sign anything from the PAC 12 with teeth. How much of any this is true? Who knows. Something seems to be going on though. You can check his stuff on twitter and YouTube.
  16. I honestly don't get what's going on here. As someone else has pointed out this is now the 3rd set of coaches that are not playing these guys. What gives? I don't care about their recruiting rankings and none of us are in practice but they can't be that bad can they? I remember the dude who had to play against Boise State who Coach Belloti wouldn't let throw a pass the entire game. They can't be worse than that.
  17. Yesterday sucked, no other way to spin it. It was a tough match up even if the Ducks played well. I don't think anyone was surprised that Oregon lost but the way it happened was. Leading up to this game there was a lot of fan hype of Lanning because of his time at Georgia so I think people's expectations on this site and others went a little over board. This is a team that has gotten blown out 4 of its last 5 games. This is going to take time. The offense looked average, the defense had no fight, terrible tackling, didn't adjust at all to what Georgia was doing. And the coaches looked unprepared and disorganized. Having said all that, I still believe in this team. I believe in this coach and his players. They will get better. Sometimes you have to get knocked on your butt to learn valuable lessons. If there are people who are considering not rooting for the Ducks after this game I say "Bye Felicia!". Good riddance. Going through the valley makes reaching the peak that much sweeter. Let's see where this team is at the end of the year. Go Ducks!
  18. OK so that didn't go well. My thoughts are the offense does look better, there's better movement and at least some variety. Bo is Bo, we all knew that. They missed some opportunities to put points up. The defense, my goodness is still terrible. Bad tacking, angles, no fight. You think we can get Allioti to come out of retirement? Just kidding. Can someone please explain why Twikease Bridges is playing at all on this team. He's a terrible corner, I don't get it at all. I want to see if Lanning makes any adjustments at all in the second half.
  19. Idk, I got no ill feelings for Frost. I know a lot of Ducks fans hold onto the recruiting comments but that's old news to me. Glad he left and we got folks in here to show it can be done. My question is what happened to this guy? He was money for awhile, what he did at UCF was amazing. Bad fit? Should Nebraska be more of a traditional offensive scheme like Cristobal runs? I've been to Lincoln, not much there so recruiting can't be easy as well.
  20. I've been reading comments from folks on message boards ripping Kevin Warren. I would just like to respectfully remind everyone that he's only doing what his employer hired him for and is paying him to do. Look out for the best interests of the BIG10. Unlike the PAC12 they surveyed the CFB landscape, didn't like what was going on, didn't sit on their hands and went out and did something about it. Now they've arguably put themselves in a better spot than the SEC. Good for them. I get there's a debate about how good this is for college football going forward but it is what it is. As for the so called "alliance" and the "gentleman's agreement" I'm reminded of the old Richard Marx song about doing business when he sings "Don't mean nothing until you sign on the dotted line". Nobody thought that was a legit deal except maybe GK. Let's be honest with ourselves. If Kevin Warren was the PAC commissioner and he got Ohio State and Michigan to join we'd all be flooding Fishduck praising this guy as the greatest exec ever and being thankful he was on our side. Unfortunately for multiple reasons we are on the other side of it this time around.
  21. There are reports that the payout will increase if the BIG10 adds more schools and is not done expanding. If true we all know what that means. The Ducks and the 3 other schools probably jump. They have to, no other choice. When that happens the 4 corner schools will jump towards the BIG12 and what I and a lot of other folks have been saying will happen. The PAC 12 will either fold or become G5.
  22. Yep, totally agree with you. It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out. If the Ducks can get some more dough out of it before expansion I'm all for it.
  23. Sorry I don't see this as being great for the Pac at all. If this is all true the BIG 10 is going to be on 3 networks plus a streaming service. They don't have enough inventory to fill those slots with 16 teams. This to me signals more expansion is coming. I've been in the camp that ND, Oregon, the fuskies, and Tree will be in the BIG 10. I could be wrong who knows? If that happens that would be the end of the Pac.
