Let's Talk About Our New Offensive Scheme.
I believe the vanilla offense is by design. We should have no problems beating the next 3 opponents with this exact game plan. Why show anything if we do not have to. For a little reference for next game, Oklahoma State beat UT Martin 27-7, last year Montana State beat the same UT Martin 49-12 at the end of the year. I believe this is the transitive property which works in math but not always in sports and comparing last years teams to this years does not always work out. But there is some correlation. On the other hand showing unique sets in a game makes the next opponent have to practice for that and take up practice time. (Didnt Chip used to do this? How much practice time did other teams take up for Chips 2 pt conversion formations?) What do you think is better? Showing nothing and surprising a team or show a lot of formation to make them scheme for each one?

New Freedoms Allowed for GameDay Threads: "Go Ahead and Let it Go...."
I am already planning a rant about how bad our defense is when Montana runs for 2 yards on their first play! 😄

Stat Geeks Will Love This OLine Review
I am going to use this string because it is calling all stat geeks and that is what my comment pertains to. Because I am like the rest of you, waiting for Saturday with not much else to do, I did a little stat diving. I was looking at Team Talent Composite since they started keeping this statistic in 2015. I know by picking 2024 & 2025 to compare to the other 9 years that I am using a small data sample but its fun. Remember this is Team Talent Composite rankings From 2015-2023 the average difference between the the #1 team and the #20 team was 230 points; 2024 & 2025 it was 193 Points From 2015-2023 the average difference between the the #1 team and the #10 team was 138 points; 2024 & 2025 it was 99 Points From 2015-2023 the average difference between the the #1 team and the #4 team was 73 points; 2024 & 2025 it was 42 Points So has the portal/NIL leveled the playing field or is this just a 2 year blip? Your thoughts?

Oregon’s Top 5 NEW Rivalries in the B1G
I am currently in Galway Ireland and saw this banner tonight at 10:00pm. It says K-State, I saw one earlier that said K- S State. We will be flying home from Dublin on Saturday the 23rd, the day of the game. If I was paying attention when I was planning the trip I would have stayed an extra day for the game.

Oh My! Trojans Are OBSESSED with Oregon, and Quite Sensitive...
This is what will happen-USC will go 8-5 and Oregon 12+ wins and a run at the National title. Those freshman that chose USC over Oregon will not transfer to Oregon (or other better programs) and Riley will have to start all over again. It just breaks my heart!

Predicted Baseball Tourney Seeding: One Loss Collapses Oregon's National Seeding, per Pundits
They should never count Mid week games into the calculations. You never put your best line up out there, you are trying to develop players. U of P looked at the Oregon games totally different then Oregon did. Would they have beaten Oregon if they were in our league? No chance. Against Nebraska Oregon played one of their worst games of the year and Nebraska played one of their best: During the season Oregon averaged less then 1 error a game, they had 4 (Not counting the miss judged fly ball in right field). Nebraska averaged just over a 1/2 of a double play per game during the season, they had 3. Baseball has always been a game about series. Judging a team by one game is just plan stupid. But the committees have proven that they want SEC teams to host as many games as possible, so they overlook SEC blunders but magnify everyone else's (do I believe in conspiracies?). Oregon's women got screwed because of 1 loss, I expect the baseball team will too.

Oregon Should Reciprocate In-Game Softball Reviews
Luscher broke the letter of the rule but not the intent. The intent is to not let the runner be off the base and heading home, she is actually going backwards when she steps up. It was the correct call, but the frustrating thing was she was called on it again in the bottom of the 7th. They should have known Liberty of watching for it. But remember we also got a cheap out by a clerical error, I believe it was a wrong number given to the umpire. This I believe is a very stiff penalty for what I believe is a very minor incident. But they won and "It all don't matter" (paraphrasing from a Jimmy Buffet song)

Oregon Softball Gets a Regional...Barely.
Actually the team that really got hosed might be Texas A&M. They are then number 1 seed but if they and Oregon win their regionals A&M has to play a team that is much better then its 16th seed in the supers. Just like in the football playoffs, I believe that they should bracket teams 9-16 (in football 5-8) and then let the #1 seed pick where they want to go, then let #2 pick, etc. That way the coaches, who know who they match up better against, get a choice. Would football have picked a different bracket then what they got? Your darn right they would have, the teams involved should have more of a say then a committee.

Michigan State Pitcher Beats Ducks, 2-0
We all know that stats do not guarantee performance but..... League play only Grinsell 1.81 ERA first in the league Reitz 3.67 ERA 8th Dzierwa 3.69 ERA 9th Iowa has 3 pitchers in the top 15, pretty impressive

Michigan State Pitcher Beats Ducks, 2-0
MSU website said that Dzierwa is starting game 1 even though the last to series' he was the day 2 starter. Both times he got roughed up a little; Ohio St- 4 inn, 6 hits, 6 runs, 5 er Mich- 6 inn, 10 hits, 6 runs, 3 er He is obviously a good pitcher but are his stats a little inflated by playing lower quality opponents? Plus they have lost 4 in a row and Oregon has won 4, confidence a real big deal in baseball. Go Ducks!

How Oregon Baseball BREAKS THROUGH in 2025
Really confused about the Men's baseball team and the schedule maker. The softball team plays it's first 16 games down south and already has played 5 games. The baseball team has its first 12 games at home in February! Why? Normally teams go south the first part of the season to make sure they get games in. There is a possibility that Oregon only plays a few of their first 12 games. Seems really odd to me. Maybe because of our new Big10 schedule where they will have to travel a lot they had cut back on spring travel, that would be a real disservice to the team. Almost like starting the season a month and half after everyone else. Am I missing something here?

So...Indiana Didn't Belong, but Tennessee DID?
I watched the USC/Penn St game and his end of the game clock management was terrible, made Mario look like a genius!

Neuhiesel still Nu-Weasel!
We do need to remember how duck fans talked leading up to our 2nd matchup with the fuskies in the Pac 12 championship. We felt we should have won the first game (Just like the bucknuts). We wanted revenge! I suspect it will work out just like last year with the team winning the first game wins the 2nd.

Deion Sanders Shows Dan Lanning it’s Not ‘Clicks’
What do you think Sanders would have chosen before the season- 1:9-3 and Hunter winning the Heisman Or 2: No Heisman and a spot in the Conference championship game to get an opportunity to go to the Playoff? Let's see how good of coach he is next year without his son's & Hunter.

Transfer Portal Interests for Ducks (2)
If you were a big time USC donor would you keep giving money to Riley (Thats what NIL's are really doing) to recruit players just to lose? They might be cutting off the faucets till Riley proves himself so they dont have the money to full fill their promises to players.

With Mensah signing with Duke does this mean Thompson will start in their bowl game? That will give me a reason to watch it.

Dillon Gabriel Should Win the Heisman
Years ago I was watching two retired coaches talking about how they would start a team from scratch. John Madden said he would start with corner backs, he felt if you could lock down receivers you could put more guys on the line and prevent big plays. The other coach (cannot remember his name) would start with O-linemen. Today it appears it quarter backs that team want to start with. It's hard to argue with that, especially watching Bo in Denver. But I still would vote for Hunter for the Heisman, I just believe he is the best player in college football.

Transfer Portal Interests for Ducks
I believe that if DL thinks that we need Bear & Cook he will make sure they will fit into our culture, that is my only concern.
