  1. I think it would be fun to beat JMU on a last minute FG then go on to win the National Championship by beating each team by over 7 and claim that JMU should be #2!
  2. I am sure everyone noticed that not one "from Oregon" was on the list. Says a lot about our coaches evaluation talents.
  3. Yes, but I bet that if Norte Dame wanted to join the SEC or Big 10 the ACC would allow them out of the contract for X millions of dollars and a guarantee that they play one ACC team on the road each year till 2036. Now would they have to take all their sports to another league or just football? If they took all their sports that X would probably be at least XX.
  4. Interesting factoid- Ex duck Brandon Bair is from Rexburg Idaho & Gatlin Bair is from Burley Idaho, 2 hours apart. No proof of any relationship but....
  5. I would vote for Pavia, without him Vandy would be 6-6 at best. Indiana still would have won at least 10 games. That's just my opinion and we all know that opinions are just like.....
  6. It might cost more money to go to a bowl game then the $500,000. If that is the case, and we know its all about the money, its a wise decision.
  7. I heard a Talking Head say that Norte Dame has signed an agreement that if they finish in the top 12 in the ranking they are automatically placed in the tournament. Anyone else hear this? If that is the case why schedule any hard opponents? Go 12-0 with cupcakes you are in. Just join a league, it is that simple. Why is everybody else changing with the times except Norte Dame?
  8. What if someone offered you a choice of 2 free tickets for next season on the 50 yard line for one of these two games, which would you choose? The National championship game OR LSU at Old Miss right behind the LSU bench To me I would take LSU/Old Miss, I cant wait for that game! ESPN Game Day?
  9. The most important question for the CFP is "How is the committee going to view Conference Championship games?" Some CCG matter others do not- Ones that do not matter North Texas St vs Tulane-If Tulane wins there go in as #11 or 12 but if NT St wins does that give James Madison a chance? It do not matter, only 1 will go. Virginia vs Duke-If Virginia wins they go as #11 but if Duke wins do they go as 12 and Tulane 11? Still just minor changes. Now the big ones OSU vs Indiana-Winner will be #1 but will the loser drop? How far? If it is a blow out does that matter? If OSU blows out Indiana (by 30+pts, highly unlikely) how far will they drop? If they drop to 6 does that drop Oregon to 7 because of head to head? Georgia vs Alabama- Georgia wins they stay in the top 3 but if Alabama wins does it drop Georgia? How far? Now the possible crazy one BYU vs Texas Tech - Tech wins nothing really changes but if BYU wins it gets crazy. With a win BYU is in but does Tech drop and how far? If Alabama beats Georgia and BYU wins does that put Oregon in the top 4? Who gets bumped to make room for BYU? If Alabama loses its them because they are 10 but if Alabama wins then Norte Dame is next out. Now if Kiffin leaves Ole Miss does that give the committee the ability to drop a one loss Ole Miss for a two loss Norte Dame? The Nightmare Scenario I do not wish this on anyone but since it is in the SOP's of the committee I am bringing it up. What if anyone of these teams in CCG has their quarterback get hurt? How far do they drop? Also, do they have to tell the committee how bad the injury is? If so should you lie? (of course they should) Last question, be honest, how many of you loved watching Mario & Sarkisian beg to get into the CFP?
  10. Screw all this debating about teams, let the fans vote! Each vote costs a dollar and the top 12 vote getters are in! (Also the vote money goes into my bank account!) Make it like dancing with the stars! It is not about the best team, its about the most popular team anyway. I am joking, but I could see this happening years down the road. Remember the movie Idiocracy?
  11. Sad thing about today's College Football is that my first thought when I heard about Wilcox is would any of their players help Oregon next year? On that thought, are any of the USC players ready to move up to a better program?
  12. I have a couple concerns about OBD, first off is that Moore has had some trouble at times at throwing to wide open receivers. Two throws to Sadiq are perfect examples, he was wide open but he had to make a great diving catches. One of them was the one he got hurt on a couple weeks ago. He also has done the same to other receivers. I hope he can solve this issue in the USC game. The other issue is how handsy (if that is a word) our DB are, they have had a number of PI calls against them and many that were not called. If they call it tight against USC it could be trouble.
  13. Sports Illustrated swim suit model next? Would that be great!
  14. I believe that the dance video was not preparing for football but for a dancing with the stars audition! After watching the video he now has becomes one of my all time favorites!
  15. It should have been Lee Corso!
  16. In my opinion this game is not going to come down to the players, we have been told that Oregon has the talent to play with anyone. Its is going to come down to coaching and not Dan Lanning. The last 2 big games the ducks have had our defense got man handled (both Penn St & OSU had over 500 yards of offense). Did Tosh Lupoi learn from these games? Will he be able to make the adjustments needed to stop PSU at key moments in the game? I dearly hope so. This might be a defining moment in his career.
  17. Charles if you want to delete this post because of the possible bad vibes I might be putting out there, do it! But here goes- I was just looking over the WSU Cougars box score with North Texas state and had a bad flash back. WSU had 3 interceptions and 2 fumbles in the first half. N Texas first TD drive was 75 yards, their next 4 TD drives was a combined 93 yards! Do you know where I am going? The OSU/UO of 2000, we out gained the beavs by about 100 yards but lost because Joey Harrington had 5 interceptions and 1 fumble. This will be the only way that OSU will have a chance against Oregon. That OSU team of 2000 would beat this OSU team by 50+. Sorry if this memory makes some of you old time ducks sick 🤮
  18. Maybe have it go to Dublin next year in the River Liffey to overshadow the TCU/NC game. What great publicity that would be!
  19. This will only change when Penn St, Ohio St or Michigan have to go to Oregon and play after Oregon has a bye and they don't. Some wheels are larger and squeak more then others.
  20. I want to ask a question about Stein's offense, specifically one play. Tell me if I am imagining this or has he changed a basic play we and all team use. I believe its called a swing pass or bubble screen. It seems that they are having Moore throw this pass like a line drive, not a touch pass and that the receiver is catching it in full stride going forward not stationary. It seems to be a much faster developing play then in the past. Is Stein making the defense react faster and commit to set up a down field play off of this for Penn St? So am I imagining this play being different?
  21. I believe the vanilla offense is by design. We should have no problems beating the next 3 opponents with this exact game plan. Why show anything if we do not have to. For a little reference for next game, Oklahoma State beat UT Martin 27-7, last year Montana State beat the same UT Martin 49-12 at the end of the year. I believe this is the transitive property which works in math but not always in sports and comparing last years teams to this years does not always work out. But there is some correlation. On the other hand showing unique sets in a game makes the next opponent have to practice for that and take up practice time. (Didnt Chip used to do this? How much practice time did other teams take up for Chips 2 pt conversion formations?) What do you think is better? Showing nothing and surprising a team or show a lot of formation to make them scheme for each one?
  22. I am already planning a rant about how bad our defense is when Montana runs for 2 yards on their first play! 😄
  23. I am going to use this string because it is calling all stat geeks and that is what my comment pertains to. Because I am like the rest of you, waiting for Saturday with not much else to do, I did a little stat diving. I was looking at Team Talent Composite since they started keeping this statistic in 2015. I know by picking 2024 & 2025 to compare to the other 9 years that I am using a small data sample but its fun. Remember this is Team Talent Composite rankings From 2015-2023 the average difference between the the #1 team and the #20 team was 230 points; 2024 & 2025 it was 193 Points From 2015-2023 the average difference between the the #1 team and the #10 team was 138 points; 2024 & 2025 it was 99 Points From 2015-2023 the average difference between the the #1 team and the #4 team was 73 points; 2024 & 2025 it was 42 Points So has the portal/NIL leveled the playing field or is this just a 2 year blip? Your thoughts?
  24. I am currently in Galway Ireland and saw this banner tonight at 10:00pm. It says K-State, I saw one earlier that said K- S State. We will be flying home from Dublin on Saturday the 23rd, the day of the game. If I was paying attention when I was planning the trip I would have stayed an extra day for the game.
