I found out something interesting, I cancelled my comcast cable but not my comcast wifi. Now Peacock comes with comcast and I found out I still get it because it is a streaming service and is associated with my wifi not cable. Sorry if this has already been mentioned.

My take, the Offensive line improved once we got Poncho back at center. Now I may get some not so positive feedback on this one, but Gabriel is nowhere close to Nix. He does not seem to read pre snap defenses like Nix could. Some of those sacks were because he did not adjust pre snap, maybe he did not place the RB in the correct spot or did not change the play to roll away from the pressure that should have been easily seen (How many of you screamed at the TV "He is coming from the left side!" before the snap? BSU also loaded the box to stop the run. We had receivers open, but he did not always have time, he seems to me that we had more designed roll outs last year and less pocket passing. Now on defense what killed us was our inability to properly play the back side. He seems many of BSU running plays were predicated on creating a cut back lane. A number of big runs were because our end players (they used to be called Defensive Ends) on the back side did not funnel the play toward the middle of the field where the help is. The Oregon player would get caught inside of the TE instead of playing off the outside shoulder, so he was sealed off. This seems to me as basic football and shows a lack of discipline and not trusting your teammates to be in their proper place. Now the good news is that trust with each other can come in time and they looked much better in the 2nd half. This is my observation from my extensive 2-year high school football career and learning from other FishDuck members.

How Ducks Commits Did This Week in Their High School Games
Duckman60 replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Funny how we can watch the same video but see it differently. When I saw Wyatt's hit I saw a borderline cheap shot. Helmet a little high and no attempt to wrap up for a tackle. But that was my opinion and I have been known to be wrong. -
Amazing how many times he was not touched till 3-4 yards down the field. Had some really good offensive linemen and with a really good back, that offensive was hard to stop.

Number 1- Win the first game, this may seem obvious but they have one STUD pitcher, Prager. He has a 2.53 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 12 Ks per 9 innings and only gives up 1 homer per game. If we can find a way to win the first game their number 2 & 3 starters are just barely average, 5.43 & 6.70 ERAs. Number 2-If we lose the first game our 2 & 3 pitchers are better then theirs which increases our chances to win both games. In the regionals they actually went "pitching by committee" in their 2nd & 3rd games. They do have a very good bullpen, 3 guys who are really good. So even if we do not win the first game we would still have a great chance of winning the series. Now for hitting, they are really scary. They have 3 players that hit over 20 homer (22, 27 & 28) and all 3 of them batted over .300! Their team batting average was .299 which is really impressive since we all know they played in the best conference in the country! Well they did get 5 teams into the super regionals. Go Ducks!

Super-Regionals, Baby! Oregon Beats UC Santa Barbara 3-0!

Friday and Saturday night I went to bed in the 9th inning because the stress got to me, I will do the same tonight to guarantee a win! -
Oregon Beats UC Santa Barbara 2-1!
Duckman60 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
If you hate stats ignore this post Confession; after the double in the 9th I went to bed, I could not handle the stress (I had worked all day and was tired but....). Because baseball is a game of stats I had to do some research. Oregon ranks 133 in the country in walks per 9 innings, 4.59. You add hit batters to that ( I do not think they are included with walks) it bumps it to over 6 free passes per game! This is not a good number BUT they are 29th in the country in WHIP at 1.4. (sorry if WHIP is obvious but just in case, WHIP basically measures how many baserunners per inning pitchers/team allows) So they give up a lot a free passes but do not allow a lot of hits. Generally walks kill teams but it doesn't seem the case with Oregon, 9.4 K's per game helps. Last stat I promise-I looked at all of the Pac-12 games and saw that in Oregon's Wins they averaged 5.63 free passes per game and in their loses they averaged 6.46. Less then 1 baserunner difference which really is not a lot. What this tells me is they are elite competitors, when things start going bad they toughen up and pull through. -
How the 2024 Oregon Offense Will ROCK
Duckman60 replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Not just a well designed play but a plus athlete carrying the ball. A less quick athlete would have be tackled early on and he is considered a tight end! Good coaching and good players are hard to beat! -
Difference perspective...Are you in it for the money or experience? I am far from rich (tier 2 PERs) and I would think about doing it for the experience and maybe not even charge them. You would have to do some research, maybe contact OSU about the offer and they might set you up with some good people. It's only a couple days and you might meet some great people who would reciprocate. You also might want to create a liability contract with them to protect yourself. I know many people will think this is stupid, the lawyers in the group will tell you about all the potential issues. Just my 2 cents...

What Coulda (Shoulda) Been…and With the WORST Timing
Duckman60 replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Very good piece! While reading it, a thought occurred to me-Maybe to much talent? You mentioned 10 names that left and played well, not all of them would have played much if they all had stayed. I am on the fence about Graves...but I am not on the fence about Campbell. I think he could be great at Oregon. How much loyalty do you show a coach (Graves) who brought so much success to Oregon? Give him another year? Could we pry Campbell away from TCU? The way the team finished was very disappointing and is it a sign of a big issue that us outsiders cannot see? Would a great coach let his team quit the way they did? If Mullens was going to make a move you would think he would have done it by now. That's my 2-cents and you might have over paid me! -
Shouldn't Our Women's BB Coaches' Fanny Be Red-Hot About Now?
Duckman60 replied to KCDuck1's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I think they need to go in a different direction...Mark Campbell. He is connected to Oregon's best teams and done a good job at TCU till injuries devastated the team. Sabrina said he was the reason she came to Oregon to begin with. -
Kalen DeBoer, Alabama Suffer Several Major Setbacks on Wednesday
Duckman60 replied to NJDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
At least DeBoer hasn't spent hours in a strip club like the last Washingtonian hired by Alabama to coach! -
The only thing better would be a recording of this conversation "Hey Dan, its Greg Byrne from Alabama. We would love to fly you out and talk about our opening for head football coach." "Hey Greg, thanks for the call I really appreciate it. But to be honest I am where I want to be, I made a promise and I am keeping it!"

I don’t think it’s a fine line…very thick line of offensive ineptitude
-
Didn’t Tony Hargain have to play quarterback years ago for Oregon? He was better than this kid, barely and he was a receiver.

Oregon Football 2023: My Two ‘Grain of Sand’ Moments
Duckman60 replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
No, the 2nd example is not a reach. Its an example of solving 1 issue at a time and not getting overwhelmed with the big picture. No again, Nick Saban would not have done this....he has one person on his staff who only job is to fix shoes! He is that organized! -
I was watching a game a few weeks ago and it hit me where Chip should coach at; one of the academy’s. Totally different type of recruiting, disciplined players and can install his unique offense. i think he could do well there.

It’s from a funny commercial. The head coach benches a kid but gives him chips & avocados and the player is fine with it. -
Pac 2 Blocks "Normal" Distribution to the Pac 12
Duckman60 replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Thanks for that information, I want to state up front that I hope I am dead wrong about this. Looking at the list, Oregon and Notre Dame are the only schools that fan population is much higher then their state population. This would mean that many of these fans are not local which could imply they are not as connected to the team as home grown fans. In Notre Dames case they have an advantage because of their religious affiliation which could create a more loyal base. I would bet that most of the non local fans are really only football fans of Oregon not Oregon Duck fans like everyone on this board. Many of the non local fans fell in love with Chip Kelly's offense and cool Uniforms. I am concerned that these types of fan might be fickle and jump off the band wagon a lost faster then most of the fans from the other schools on this list. But like I stated before, I hope Fishduck is correct and I am shown in the future to be a total idiot! Go Ducks! -
Pac 2 Blocks "Normal" Distribution to the Pac 12
Duckman60 replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I wonder how this forum will look in 10 years when the "Football Powers that Be" want a 16 team super conference? If is all based on revenue.... They look and see that Oregon is not in the top 20 markets in the country and they have this little 54,000 seat stadium. They do not have or ever will have the rabid fan base that the SEC and a number of the other top schools have. (Maybe because we have lives ) We do not pack the stadium (54,000 approx) for our cupcakes but Auburn got 87,000 for UMass. In 2022 Oregon was 19th in Revenue, we would be left out in the cold. "First they came for the Communist" "I did not speak out"..... Just food for thought -
Ducks Face the Liberty Flames on Jan. 1

Question, can/will the players who entered the portal play in the bowl game? I believe just because you entered it does not force you to leave. -
Hopefully the team is to focused on preparation to even see this.

None of this should be made public till a team is done playing. If TT has to play because of an injury his motivation may not be very high. Or could it be higher? Auditioning for another school might be a motivation to look as good as possible. I believe Ward would only have 1 year to play, is that correct? Remember the difference for Year 1 Bo and Year 2 Bo. I would figure that Ward would not be as good as Bo was in year 1 so maybe TT can beat him out.
