Big Ten, Big 12 or ACC?
I think it's the Big Ten, we'll have to travel a lot but it won't be quite as bad as going to North Carolina, Florida, or Virginia, competition is probably a bit better, we probably match up better with the states a bit more, I also like that we'll have a sense of stability once we get into the conference. In the end it also comes down to the fact that in the long run we'll probably make the most money in that conference. Imo the Pac10/12 is done for and the sooner we leave for the Big10 the better, I respect the opinions in here to try to stay, but I just see it differently. We all want the same thing in the end and that's to have Oregon sports flourish.

Oregon Baseball Falls to Utah for First Time Since 2017, Extends Losing Streak to 5
Pitching was always the concern heading into the season and now with the injuries it's completely blown up, unfortunate that a really good offense is going to have no chance since the pitching can't even hold teams to under 10 runs now.

Pac-12 Basketball Portal Winners and Losers
In between on this one, I don't think we lost anyone significant, but we also didn't add anyone that I think will make a difference, we were sorely in need of shooters and we didn't get anyone, we missed out on some guys that would have helped us a lot, so I don't think it's a hard loss, but I wouldn't really call the portal a win either, we held par basically.

2024 Football Recruits...Announcements, Updates (No. 3)
Don't know if I should post this thought that just occurred to me now, but it seems like we don't see many recruits out of the Chicagoland area that are big time, it's always been a basketball hotbed, but it seems like I haven't really heard of that many big football guys coming out of there, could just be they all go Big 10 and I just don't pay them any mind. Does anybody have a sense why we don't see as many recruits coming out of here as you might expect for such a big metro area?

Pac-12 Guru Jon Wilner's Post Spring Top 10 and Other Pac-12 Teams Ranked in His Top 25
I'll be honest at this point I've lost interest in where the Ducks are ranked, if we're good enough to reach the goals we have then I think we have the schedule to accomplish those goals. I do wonder how in the world you can have UW 4th in the nation, good team, but they had no defense, they had no running game, Oregon would have won that game with a healthy QB, just a really weird pick imo.

Holy Crap! Oregon's New QB Verbal Runs a 10.49?
I'm always leery of high school tape, never really know what sort of competition the player plays against, what sort of players he himself plays with, I'm sure others could answer that for me, when I look at his tape the one thing that stands out to me is that it looks like he scrambles to look for passing opportunities down field, he doesn't look like a QB who looks to call his own number as soon as possible. The athleticism imo looks to be above average but not at the level that it is his number one calling card. If he was the backup option I would say he's a good bet as a 3 star, I can certainly see how he could be a success at the next level.

Athletic Dept Clearing Out Season Ticket Holders From the Ends of MKA for Men's Basketball
It really is one of the ugliest courts in the country, even if they just had the forest stuff on the bottom of the court from the perspective of the hard camera for tv it would look better, usually with courts the less you have on there the better. I get that it was designed by Tinker Hatfield and all, but it's been a while now since the court was first revealed, it's time to change it into something more coherent.

Athletic Dept Clearing Out Season Ticket Holders From the Ends of MKA for Men's Basketball
First I would like to say that sucks for you, really sad to hear that they would do this with little input from the actual season ticket holders if this would be something that you would like or accept. Second, I have very little confidence that whatever the decisions the Athletic department make will actually help the atmosphere, I'm sure they are looking at a lot of studies that will lead to them making the same stupid decisions that they have consistently made when it comes to basketball. I'm convince that they actually think the stupid music, games, kiss cams, all that crap is what actually attracts families and fans to the games. I don't know why they think this, but they do.

CFB 2023: Clock Will Now Run After First Downs as NCAA Approves Change
Don't like it, I don't mind the length of college games, I like the opportunity to see amazing comebacks due to the clock stopping, I don't think there was some urgent need for this.

The 2023 College Football Power Index (FPI) is Out
Yeah, I would have Georgia above Bama, can't really see the reason why you would not, both have new QBs, and you have more stability in the coaching staff with Georgia. Other things that I see are UW being much higher, UCLA being higher, Notre Dame being lower, and Texas falling short of expectations as usual. I'm a bit surprised that Colorado is so low, I figured they might have a talent injection from the guys following Deion, not that I was expecting a huge jump, but it seems like the QB position received an upgrade, and they could have a stud at CB.

Men's Basketball Recruiting
Great! Another guard who can't shoot from outside, just what we need! I just don't get this, when have we ever had success with a team that can't shoot from outside the arc.

The 2023 College Football Power Index (FPI) is Out
Media is soooooo hoping that USC is back and gets into the playoff, they are begging to slobber all over them. If both Oregon and USC are undefeated going into that game on 11/11 then it will be the biggest home game in the history of Autzen I think considering the circumstances of where the league is. Oregon is an interesting prospect, could take the next step, could fall back, or could stay where they are. How much does Lanning learn from his first year in charge, is Stein a step up or down from Dillingham, how does the O-line hold up. I feel confident that our defense will be better, I just question how the O-line is going to be.

MBB: Players Entering Transfer Portal...Williams, Ware, Wur, Soares, Guerrier
No ill will towards him, but he was a huge disappointment, came in as an all-league player from the ACC, and proceeded to basically be a very average player in a position where we have normally had great production from. Think it helps the team overall since he just couldn't be relied on for much.

N'Faly Dante Announces Return for 2023 Season with the Ducks
Very surprised considering his injury history, I'm guessing he wasn't hearing great news from the NBA scouts.

What Oregon Spends on Football Recruiting Compared to Other Big-Time Teams
It was just a joke, obviously they've recruiting smartly, I'm just saying it's a bit insane how much the difference is between number 10 and number 1 is. Georgia spends more than a million more than the second placed school, that's pretty significant, I'm just curious why the differences are that vast, especially when you look at a school like Oregon where we have to bring the vast majority of our players are from out of state from significant distances from all around the country. When I look at Georgia's roster I see a lot of Georgia, Alabama, and Florida, for obvious reasons. Let's not act like Clemson, Ohio St, or Bama is much different in recruiting nationally. Just curious why the difference in money is so large. I'm not trying to say that anything bad is happening, sorry if it came out like that,

Oregon Basketball Ranked in Andy Katz 2023/24 Preseason top 34
I wouldn't even put them that high, until the can prove that they can.... 1. Stay healthy: Would be nice if just ONE season we could stay relatively healthy. 2. Shoot the freakin ball. 3. Actually hustle and scrap for an entire season. 4. Have someone step up as a leader.

What Oregon Spends on Football Recruiting Compared to Other Big-Time Teams
Insane that Georgia spends that much on just recruiting, I mean most of their guys are within driving distance of Athens (I'm exaggerating a bit). I mean what do the spend on food, or is this spent mostly on trips to Magic City in Atlanta 😅

MBB: Players Entering Transfer Portal...Williams, Ware, Wur, Soares, Guerrier
Good luck to him, seems like a great kid, really liked watching him play, wish he got more run at times. He seems like a guy that could really succeed at mid-major level.

Jackson Shelstad - Best Player On the Floor at Hoop Summit
Gosh I hope so, we've had pretty good luck with PGs from the northwest. I know a lot of people are concerned about the whole Bronny James and how much attention he would bring, but the more I've seen him, the more I've seen him talk, I think he might be alright here, he certainly has had a team first approach to the game from the clips I've seen. Really hope the backcourt mates help him to be the player a lot of people think he can be.

Oregon's Sad and Bad Out-of-Conference (OOC) Scheduling
Here's some articles about it from when it happened Georgia Cancels Series With Oregon, Which Has Outscored Georgia By 134 Points This Month ATLANTA.SBNATION.COM New AD Greg McGarity on the new scheduling philosophy that led to dropping the Oregon 2015, 2016 home-and-home:↵↵ ↵McGarity is scheduling to make a run for a national title. He... Georgia cancels game with Oregon - Pac-12 Blog- ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM It would have been a great game -- and a great road trip for both sets of fans -- but Georgia and Oregon won't play in 2015 and 2016 after the game contract was canceled. Seems like Greg McGarrity didn't like the idea of going across the country to play a good team, again a different AD, but it looks like it was about maximizing the possibility to get into the BCS. If Oregon was the same distance as say Texas, then maybe Georgia would have played those games. It's a new situation in college football today, we're already seeing better matchups, I just don't think at the time that the Tech, Baylor, and Ok. St. games were scheduled that it was easy or even possible to get SEC teams to come to Oregon. I should mention I totally respect the idea that Mullens should have anticipated the current structure of college football better, and that he should have done everything he could have to get some higher profile games in the coming 6-7 seasons. I'm just not sure how realistic it was. I do think the Baylor and Okie St. games might be semi-must watch, depends on the lineup of games that take place that week, but I could easily see a situation where that is a top-15 matchup. The Tech games are probably the weakest we've had in a while in terms of a Power 5 opponent comparable to when we played Purdue.

Men's Basketball Recruiting
27% on 3s!!!???? Hard pass, any wing or guard should be able to shoot a minimum 35% to be considered as a player to come in, I don't care how athletic he is. I just don't get this strategy.

Oregon's Sad and Bad Out-of-Conference (OOC) Scheduling
Oh I have no doubt that Kirby or his players would have no problem coming here, I'm more talking about the ADs, should have clarified that point! I mean you guys did chicken out before, I know that's under a different AD, but the fact remains that two high profile SEC programs cancelled on us. From what I see the SEC has become much better about playing some good to great OOC teams, that's of course great to see, and the 12 team playoff will encourage programs to make those trips. We've never been afraid to take games in unfavorable conditions, last year's game should never have happened, it was stupid to take a road game with no return trip, that's on Mullens of course, but I bet Georgia wouldn't agree to a neutral site game in San Jose (heck it would probably still be 70% Georgia knowing how you guys travel along with the SEC) against us with no return trip.

Where is Good Sportsmanship?
It is one of the most stupid things a home crowd can chant, you are basically saying that the other team isn't very good, and that your team's win is actually that significant or a great achievement. I've always hated it, even when I was student and everyone around me was chanting it.
