Holy Crap! Oregon is in on Some BIG Portal Prospects...Geez!
Kind of surprised we haven't heard any news on new transfers out of the program, we're already look at least 8 or so by more count that need to move to get to 85, and this doesn't even include any more transfers or freshmen. I'm very interested to see who is going to move on from Oregon.

Men's Basketball: 1/5/23 Ducks @ Colorado (Ducks LOSE 68-41)
I feel both happy and sorry for Richardson, he's being asked to do everything, with little help from his backcourt mates, injuries don't seem to be healing at all for any of the players, this season feels like a write off, and hopefully the studs coming in next year actually perform like studs instead of the last few 5 stars we've had. Ware has turned into a bit of a disappointment, hasn't really had the impact someone of his recruiting rank you would hope for, I will say he's done more that Bittle who has been a complete flop of a 5 star.

Men's Basketball: 12/31/22 Oregon State @ Ducks (Ducks WIN 77-68)
My kingdom for a shooting guard who can actually shoot! Richardson is doing what he can along with Dante, but we're going nowhere with Rigsby and Soares shooting under 30% from 3.

Steve Sarkisian in Hot Water
If someone touches me like that, and I know they're just doing their job, I don't immediately start yelling obscenities, making veiled threats, and looking like I'm about have a heart attack. I'm not saying he should be fired or anything, but he's an butt, and he's always has been one.

Help is on the Way: West Linn with Jackson Shelstad Takes Down Bronny James
All I want to know is if he's a knockdown shooter, because we all know we could use some.

Cheering for Huskies: I Just Can't Do It
I don't like UW, I personally haven't had a lot of confrontations with their fans really though, so I'll hold my nose and root for the conference. I'm tired of the Pac-12 being a joke in the eyes of the nation, we need to bring up the rep to get more attention out west. I know people will say "Let's be the Clemson of the west coast!" personally though I want to see high profile games in the conference instead of beating up on a bunch of weak teams. Only way we do this is win games out of the conference and eventually have success in the playoff. It's going to be a long process, but my dream is that the LA schools fall flat on their face in the Big 10, and Oregon, Utah, UW, and maybe one of two other teams really establish themselves as top 15 teams on a consistent basis, probably a pipe dream though!

Terrible Field Last Night
Wish the new SDSU stadium was around 45,000 instead of 35,000, probably would make a good venue for a bowl game like the Holiday. Really would probably still be a better venue (sight lines, amenities, etc.).

Trikweze Bridges Emerges Lockdown in Holiday Bowl?
I don't disagree with the idea of flagrant PI being a spot foul, but get two and you're out of the game! It's no different from an obvious holding penalty to save a sack, it's not endangering the opponent, and it's not a personal foul that is after the play, that seems way way overboard.

Am I crazy to kind of want us to use that helmet at some point?

The 'Crimson' Tides are Changing
I would respectfully disagree, Bama has gone to the portal for specific needs, they don't need to go wild bringing in 10+ guys because they already have the dudes they need to win, they just need to pick the cream of the crop to fill in specific needs. You'll see these teams go for quality over quantity. Look at Georgia they just went to the portal for a couple of WRs from SEC schools, if there was one area where they probably could use a talent upgrade it was WR. What we will see are dramatic changes in fortune for various teams as they deal with roster turnover both negative and positive.

December Is Too Busy and Bowl Season Suffers
I wouldn't really be opposed to moving the signing date to early January, I do wonder if we don't still need two signing periods, since it allows teams to adjust if they don't get certain players they thought they had in the bag and then they suffer a late decommitment. Bowl games are a mixed bag, some are meaningless to the fans, players, even coaches (other than practice time), others though can be used as fuel for the future, specifically those teams who have been bad for a number of years. Momentum into the next season can be a thing for some programs. Oregon this year is a in a weird position for it's bowl game, I'm sure a lot of the program is disappointed to be playing in the Holiday bowl when they thought they would be playing in the Rose Bowl or even the CFP, on the other hand it also represents a chance to end Lanning's first season on a positive note in front of a national audience. Historically the Holiday Bowl has been pretty competitive for the teams that play in it.

Brandon Dorlus?
Anybody heard if he'll go pro early? Been here 4 years, but would have the extra covid year if he wants it. Would be a great guy to have next year since he was one of our few players who could get to the QB occasionally.

Breaking! 5-Star Matayo Uiagalelei to Become a Duck?
I have to think we increased our offer after we lost Moore. On another note it feel so depressing to say that. Just free agency, like we missed out on our number 1 target and now we'll throw that money at another free agent.

Men's Basketball: 12/20/22 Utah Valley @ Ducks (Ducks LOSE 72-77)
I know I've said it a ton, but I have no idea why Altman has decided to start recruiting guys who can't shoot, we have no snipers that you can't leave open, it's a complete whiff on getting guys that actually work in today's game. Soares can't shoot, Guerrier isn't reliable at all, Rigsby can't shoot, Williams can't shoot, Bittle can't shoot, no one can shoot on this team other than Richardson, I just don't get it. And if you try to say that Barthelemy and Couisnard can shoot, I would say look at their stats, they aren't knock down shooter either. You can leave anyone open on this team and you wouldn't feel in danger at all other than maybe Richardson.

Men's Basketball: 12/20/22 Utah Valley @ Ducks (Ducks LOSE 72-77)
Nice, getting embarrassed by Utah Valley now, team still can't shoot worth a damn, would be nice if Altman would remember to recruit shooters.

Omigosh! A Transfer QB Visited Oregon? Hicks Momentum Building?
We need both if you ask me, you need the present as well the future, I'm not saying this is a failure by the coaching staff, just saying this is a blow to the future of the program since this seems like a good year for QBs, and Moore has established himself as one of the best. Rest of the class looks great though.

Omigosh! A Transfer QB Visited Oregon? Hicks Momentum Building?
Sure looking like we are loosing Moore, kind of ruins this recruiting class, need to have a freshman QB, we can not keep relying on transfer QBs. Then again it sounds like Moore just wants a job handed to him if he's considering going to UCLA.

Oregon Women’s Basketball: Gritty and Worthy of a Certain Ionescu
It's really tough to say what their upside is right now, we'll know a whole lot more after the games against Arkansas and UCLA, split those and I think getting to the second weekend becomes more of realistic expectation than just a upside hope. One thing that that really strikes me is that the Pac-12 is good and deep this year. Stanford, Utah, UCLA, Washington, USC, and Arizona all have either 1 or 0 losses. Nobody in the Pac-12 is .500 or under, it's going to be a dog fight in conference this year, could see at least half the conference get into the tourney depending on how it goes.

Oregon State Rewards Jonathan Smith
I don't hate the Beavs, I find it annoying to lose to them when it happens (in all sports), their fans of course hate us (for some good reasons I think at times), but for the most part I root for them when we aren't playing them or it doesn't help us in some way. So congrats to Smith, he certainly deserves it.

Women's Basketball: 12/11/22 Oregon State @ Ducks (Ducks WIN 75-67)
Thought both coaches made some weird decisions, Oregon went really small for stretches when OSU went to the double bigs which is where they began to really put it on the ducks, didn't seem like Oregon responded until OSU went away from what was working, really strange that they left Beers out for so long during the final stretch. In the end Rodgers saved the Ducks, tremendous effort from her.

Oregon Names UTSA's Will Stein as Offensive Coordinator
Don't really have a strong opinion on this, I guess it's a decent hire, definitely don't think it's automatic home run, would have preferred someone with more experience. I guess it's at least an easy fit in terms of style. In regards to the possibility of the UTSA QB coming here potentially, watching the film he seems accurate, but the arm strength is a bit lacking I thought, doesn't mean he can't succeed, but it makes it little harder.

Oregon's 2023 QB?
I hope Nix will make his decision soon so that Oregon will have more certainty in what they need to do before January rolls around, can't be left wanting a transfer and then have to choose from what is left after all the top guys have already committed. Right now it looks like they might need one if not two transfers, or they need to pick up a freshmen recruit. Have to have at least three scholarship QBs on the roster.
