  1. Yeah I would agree with that, maybe not to the extent that I would say he's undraftable, but he's certainly not a first day guy. I can't think of a game this year where I would say he jumped out and made you take notice. Can anyone think of a game where he just completely dominated a game? I certainly can't think of one against a quality opponent. He needs to lose weight, get some more agility in him, stop taking plays off, and actually work.
  2. Big game against Arizona next up I hate that Arizona team and their coach, whiney, always fouling, it's never their fault when they lose, just a very frustrating team to go against. Oregon really needs to establish themselves as one of the teams to beat with a road win, we already dropped one at home, now we need to pick one up on the road...
  3. That would be very surprising to see someone make the jump from NAIA, not saying it's a bad move as I'm sure very few actually know anything about a guy coaching at Ottawa University!
  4. Tough road schedule, Tech is going to be a more difficult game than many might expect, they looked good against Ole Miss, Shough is coming back for them, and it's going to be more of the Air Raid offense that we never seem to handle well. Our conference away games seem to include two of our bogey teams in ASU and Stanford (at least road games against them), and the other two are against the what are probably two better and more difficult places to play away. At least we don't play Georgia in Georgia to start the year (yesh!)
  5. Once again I question the type of players that we are bringing in, not one pure shooter on this team, that's inexcusable. The guys we are bringing in for next year are pretty similar, slashers, it's great if you have guys who can get to the hole, or big men who can score inside. In addition though you have to have snipers to open up the lane, and it seems like Altman has completely forgotten this. I put this completely on how Altman has put together his roster, the team isn't constructed right, some of them are good pieces, but they don't go together.
  6. Basham is big addition considering we don't have much size on the bench, I'm not sure how much she'll contribute, but it's huge that they have the option to continue to have a big in the middle of the floor.
  7. Yes, a million times Mac>Matt for the court design alone, please Oregon get rid of the most ugly court design in the history of basketball. Do everyone a favor and have something where you can actually see the line on the court and not some thing that looks like an ugly shade of brown throw up. I will admit I'm a short guy (5'6) and even I had trouble at times with my knees in some of those seats, but everything else from the band playing during every time out, not having the scoreboard constantly doing a kissing cam, or face emoji cam or something else, to the noise created, to even just the heat you would have in there. I miss Mac Court so much, Matt Court just feels bland in comparison. Not that you can't have a great atmosphere, I remember the big games against Arizona and UCLA that were close in feel to the Mac Court, but it still just doesn't compare imo. All this said I understand that it needed to be done, and Matt Court is good for what it is, still doesn't mean I don't wish we could go back in time and see the old scoreboard shake. Football is a better experience overall, it's pretty similar to the 90s early 00s, a bit rowdy fans, but it still is good for the most part, it's basketball where I think there's been more of a dropoff.
  8. Kind of surprised we haven't heard any news on new transfers out of the program, we're already look at least 8 or so by more count that need to move to get to 85, and this doesn't even include any more transfers or freshmen. I'm very interested to see who is going to move on from Oregon.
  9. I feel both happy and sorry for Richardson, he's being asked to do everything, with little help from his backcourt mates, injuries don't seem to be healing at all for any of the players, this season feels like a write off, and hopefully the studs coming in next year actually perform like studs instead of the last few 5 stars we've had. Ware has turned into a bit of a disappointment, hasn't really had the impact someone of his recruiting rank you would hope for, I will say he's done more that Bittle who has been a complete flop of a 5 star.
  10. My kingdom for a shooting guard who can actually shoot! Richardson is doing what he can along with Dante, but we're going nowhere with Rigsby and Soares shooting under 30% from 3.
  11. If someone touches me like that, and I know they're just doing their job, I don't immediately start yelling obscenities, making veiled threats, and looking like I'm about have a heart attack. I'm not saying he should be fired or anything, but he's an butt, and he's always has been one.
  12. All I want to know is if he's a knockdown shooter, because we all know we could use some.
  13. I don't like UW, I personally haven't had a lot of confrontations with their fans really though, so I'll hold my nose and root for the conference. I'm tired of the Pac-12 being a joke in the eyes of the nation, we need to bring up the rep to get more attention out west. I know people will say "Let's be the Clemson of the west coast!" personally though I want to see high profile games in the conference instead of beating up on a bunch of weak teams. Only way we do this is win games out of the conference and eventually have success in the playoff. It's going to be a long process, but my dream is that the LA schools fall flat on their face in the Big 10, and Oregon, Utah, UW, and maybe one of two other teams really establish themselves as top 15 teams on a consistent basis, probably a pipe dream though!
  14. Wish the new SDSU stadium was around 45,000 instead of 35,000, probably would make a good venue for a bowl game like the Holiday. Really would probably still be a better venue (sight lines, amenities, etc.).
  15. I don't disagree with the idea of flagrant PI being a spot foul, but get two and you're out of the game! It's no different from an obvious holding penalty to save a sack, it's not endangering the opponent, and it's not a personal foul that is after the play, that seems way way overboard.
  16. I would respectfully disagree, Bama has gone to the portal for specific needs, they don't need to go wild bringing in 10+ guys because they already have the dudes they need to win, they just need to pick the cream of the crop to fill in specific needs. You'll see these teams go for quality over quantity. Look at Georgia they just went to the portal for a couple of WRs from SEC schools, if there was one area where they probably could use a talent upgrade it was WR. What we will see are dramatic changes in fortune for various teams as they deal with roster turnover both negative and positive.
  17. I wouldn't really be opposed to moving the signing date to early January, I do wonder if we don't still need two signing periods, since it allows teams to adjust if they don't get certain players they thought they had in the bag and then they suffer a late decommitment. Bowl games are a mixed bag, some are meaningless to the fans, players, even coaches (other than practice time), others though can be used as fuel for the future, specifically those teams who have been bad for a number of years. Momentum into the next season can be a thing for some programs. Oregon this year is a in a weird position for it's bowl game, I'm sure a lot of the program is disappointed to be playing in the Holiday bowl when they thought they would be playing in the Rose Bowl or even the CFP, on the other hand it also represents a chance to end Lanning's first season on a positive note in front of a national audience. Historically the Holiday Bowl has been pretty competitive for the teams that play in it.
  18. Anybody heard if he'll go pro early? Been here 4 years, but would have the extra covid year if he wants it. Would be a great guy to have next year since he was one of our few players who could get to the QB occasionally.
  19. I have to think we increased our offer after we lost Moore. On another note it feel so depressing to say that. Just free agency, like we missed out on our number 1 target and now we'll throw that money at another free agent.
  20. I know I've said it a ton, but I have no idea why Altman has decided to start recruiting guys who can't shoot, we have no snipers that you can't leave open, it's a complete whiff on getting guys that actually work in today's game. Soares can't shoot, Guerrier isn't reliable at all, Rigsby can't shoot, Williams can't shoot, Bittle can't shoot, no one can shoot on this team other than Richardson, I just don't get it. And if you try to say that Barthelemy and Couisnard can shoot, I would say look at their stats, they aren't knock down shooter either. You can leave anyone open on this team and you wouldn't feel in danger at all other than maybe Richardson.
  21. Nice, getting embarrassed by Utah Valley now, team still can't shoot worth a damn, would be nice if Altman would remember to recruit shooters.
  22. disappointing that this is on some internet site that charges a subscription fee.
  23. We need both if you ask me, you need the present as well the future, I'm not saying this is a failure by the coaching staff, just saying this is a blow to the future of the program since this seems like a good year for QBs, and Moore has established himself as one of the best. Rest of the class looks great though.
