Whoa! Phillipina Kyei: 15 Points and 15 REBOUNDS?
In my opinion she's a big upgrade on Prince, she hustles, she rebounds, she defends, which in all honesty Prince didn't do, Prince could shoot and that's about it for someone her size. We don't need Kyei to score a ton on post ups or mid range, we have Van Slooten to do that sort of stuff, we need someone to do the dirty work.

I Have Serious Concerns About the Coaches
I appreciate that Lanning is a first year head coach, I appreciate the fact that in general it's good to try to be aggressive where you can, but these past two losses have been madness. I'm more concerned that Lanning isn't learning, you can not have your last 3 drives end on downs when you have been up the entire game, you just can't. You can't expect to run the ball 3 times down inside the 5 when you haven't shown the ability to do that consistently, taking the ball out of your best players' hands. This game just screamed hubris, and that's very very concerning. I'm also concerned that we never seemed to make any adjustment on defense in the second half, it was just bad football. This was an all-time choke job and it was on the coaches making horrible play calls, no adjustments mid game, and a general inability to learn from past mistakes.

Horrible play calling, coaches losing this game, horrible.

Defensive line has been awful, getting road grated all game, LBs have been horrible as well. Lazy, catch the ball and call a fair catch

GameDay Thread vs. Oregon State: Join Us!
Horrible, just giving the game away, completely taking plays off, no fire.

He is the worst color commentator in college football, it's not even that close, no enthusiasm, no knowledge, sticks to the same idea for the entirety of the game, biased, just awful.

Rod Gilmore acting like his dog died, you can't be more blatant than him when it comes to showing his own hatred for a team.

GameDay Thread vs. Oregon State: Join Us!
Bad spot, but he didn't get the first down on the first run I thought, probably a half yard more though. I'm just baffled that they felt like they needed to measure it on the second run, I mean how blind can you be!?

What are we doing! Lanning again losing the game with awful awful decisions

Men's Basketball: Phil Knight Invitational
It was, it's games like this that make me wonder why Richardson can't play like this all the time, he was aggressive, showed leadership, distributed the basketball, he's such a mystery to me. Ware needs to work on his fitness, seemed to gas too early, but he was pretty great tonight, and the walk-ons played hard didn't lose the game for the team, a couple calls go their way and they could have won it.

I know it's impossible, but Walton shut up about Shoe dog! Who cares! This is a incredible performance, talk about bout the damn game.

Men's Basketball: Phil Knight Invitational
If they win this game, it's one of the best wins of Altman's career, incredible

Men's Basketball: Phil Knight Invitational
The Ducks have 4 legit post players, now on the floor they have none of them, amazing, simply amazing how much bad luck this team has had. Like I said before I can't fault the effort, they're putting their all into this, makes me wish Richardson played like this all the time, he's being aggressive (because he has to).

Men's Basketball: Phil Knight Invitational
I'm going to give this team some major props, they're playing extremely hard, the walk-ons have been put in a impossible position, the schollie players are sometimes playing 3 on 5, and they're giving a quality opponent all they can get.

Men's Basketball: Phil Knight Invitational
At this point I believe the team is cursed, I don't know what the team did to get this curse, but I don't think I've ever seen a team get this injured in a season.

Men's Basketball: Phil Knight Invitational
This team might just have a losing season, it's that bad in terms of the guard play, I just don't get what Altman has been looking for in the guys he's recruited, there's no shooting in this team, even if you look at Barthelemy and Cousinard neither of them are good shooters, it's like Altman has gone away completely from what has work for him in the past. He used to recruit good shooters with guys at the wing positions who were athletic and could defend multiple positions. Now it's a plodding team of big men who while talented have nobody to pass to the outside, so teams can just collapse with no worry about the three ball. A lot of recruiting misses, Bittle is a disappointment, Soares has not made many strides, Guerrier is not anywhere near some of the 4s we've had in the past. Cousinard, Rigsby, and Butler better be huge upgrades on the players already playing or else this team isn't going to be anywhere near a borderline tourney team. The only player that seems to be fulfilling his potential is Dante, he's trying, but it's hard to carry the load when nobody else is capable of getting a bucket. Ware as well seems like he might have the talent to justify his high recruiting. Maybe I'm bad mouthing the players too much, but this is just hard to watch, and it's beginning to be what I expect from Oregon basketball (get embarrassed on national TV)

Women's Basketball: Phil Knight Invitational
Should have won that game, our guards have to play with more discipline, we would get out to a good lead playing a composed half-court game, then when we tried to speed it up we would give up points in transition and let UNC back in it. That game is a game we lost not UNC winning it. We play with more composure we win. Had a clear advantage inside, yet we got away from that in the 4th quarter. Offense should have gone to Kyei and Van Slooten a lot more, instead Rodgers, PaoPao, and Hurst tried to do too much. I still think Graves doesn't coach with enough fire, I never see him demand better basketball from our players, just seems to be okay with obvious mistakes. All that said I like the look of this team immensely more than last season. I never though Prince played with much fire, and I already feel like Kyei is going to be a better player, maybe not as much of a scorer, but she fights a lot more trying to get rebounds and plays better defense. They'll get better, and in the end I think this will be a better team compared to last year.

Mens Basketball: 11/20/22 Houston @ Ducks (6:30 PT, ESPN)
It's going to be a really long season if this team can't hit any 3s, teams will just double Dante and not have to worry about the outside shooting.
-
Mens Basketball: 11/20/22 Houston @ Ducks (6:30 PT, ESPN)
The defense is legitimately good, the offense is an absolute mess, can't shoot, can't drive, can't make good decisions, only plus player on the offensive end is Dante from what I can see.

Can the Oregon Ducks Beat Utah Without Nix?
Here's my take, I think without Bo we have about a 20-25% chance of winning, this goes up to about a 30% chance if our O-line is relatively healthy enough that we simulate the rushing effort we have had this season. I have been of course been seriously concerned by Ty's play so far, but he would have the use of a much more diverse playbook along with better players in front of him than he has usually had this season. Dillingham has proven to have pretty good game plans this season, so I could see us having some success on offense. With all of that said, we'll need some breaks, some TOs, and to play a clean game while hoping Utah doesn't bring their A game. It's going to be tough!

GameDay Thread versus Washington: Join Us!
100% on the coaches, just awful decisions throughout the game, really let their players down there, so many unnecessary risks, so many bad play calls in crucial situations, just awful awful coaching. Bad officiating at the end, should have been a late hit out of bounds, would have been at the 35. Seemed like the Huskies got every call.

GameDay Thread versus Washington: Join Us!
Have to get some blitzes in, this passive defense is probably the worst thing to do against a guy like Penix, their receivers are too good, our LBs and DBs can't cover, have to get pressure.
-
GameDay Thread versus Washington: Join Us!
If we can get one stop, we'll take away their confidence, they can not stop us if we don't play stupid football and keep it simple. Have to start to get a bit of a pass rush, Penix is too good to give him time.
-
GameDay Thread versus Washington: Join Us!
Could be worse, have to pound the ball, have to play a smarter ball game. This first drive is going to be so important since if we can score a TD we'll gain some momentum. I get the feeling neither team is very happy right now.
-
GameDay Thread versus Washington: Join Us!
Why! Why would you do that, just set up normally and do a QB sneak, instead we're rushing to get set again and snap the ball, horrible horrible decision.
