  1. Ohhhh, wow, I turned it to the Minnesota-NC game after the Buffs got a first down with about a 1:40 or so left. They reeeealllly squeaked one out it sounds like!
  2. Colorado squeaks out a win against NDSU, Hunter is pretty amazing, it does help when he's able to throw his defender to the floor without a call, commentators openly taking about him manhandling his defender but of course not calling out that it's offensive PI since of course you have to hype up Colorado. They'll lose to Nebraska and Colorado St. I think, O-line isn't improved by much, defense while a little better is still below average.
  3. It's as much the network it's on as the time slot. We had a fair few games in that late afternoon time frame, the problem was that it was usually on Pac12 Net. where nobody was able to watch it. 4:00-5:30 is perfect, most of the east coast is done with the afternoon games, people are watching football after their own team's game is done, all eyes are on you. That is if you are on one of the major networks.
  4. Perfect, back where we belong with that time-slot, been too few of them over the post-Mariota years.
  5. I like them, the only thing that I'm sort of was concerned is the green outline of the numbers, it looks a little like the seahawks green, it might just be the silver inside the numbers, but overall I think they did a good job combining the styles of the past into one jersey, I'll be excited to see the other colors.
  6. While it is better, it's still terrible, if they simply went to a design where the trees were on the near camera side of the court it would be fine, but by making the trees all around it becomes cluttered and distracting, very disappointed by this. Edit: I'll amend my first thoughts after really looking at it...I like the green on the baselines/sidelines, I like the lettering of the "Fighting Ducks" and "Mighty Oregon", I simply don't like the trees that wrap around and then on the far sideline. I just think you had a way to go in the middle and they failed to find a good medium there.
  7. The only way that there is a west coast conference of sorts is if football breaks away from the other sports, I could see a world where Oregon is in the B1G or some other super conference that gets made for football and then gets pulled back into some sort of western conference of sorts for the other sports. I'm not sure what that looks like, but the money is simply too big to ignore in terms of coming back simply because some volleyball or lacrosse players are annoyed about the number of trips they take across the country, I'm sorry but that's the truth. All that matters is football (unfortunately) and football isn't going to get tired about the trips out east. I say unfortunately because the world shouldn't revolve around one sport, but that's the truth.
  8. I don't think anyone is bringing down what Oregon has done in the last 4 years, Waz has been a big upgrade over Horton. It is just apparent where we don't quite match where most of the programs that get to the world series are. We have a decent enough offense I think, we just don't have arms that blow you away. They had a great regional round, it is much improved from last year I think, but it still doesn't have the stuff that some of these other programs have. I think tomorrow we'll hang tough, it will be a close game, hopefully this time we hold our nerve a bit better!
  9. I think it's going to be hard to do moving to the B1G, not many good programs, not many opportunities to say that you will consistently play against the best. I'm sure they will be able to stay a top 20 or so program, but it's going to be hard to get those elite pitchers when you aren't going to be playing against the best week in week out.
  10. Yeah, it's really sad to see the programs in the Pac-12 just descend into irrelevancy. Baseball used to be a number one or number two conference, now it's a afterthought. Horrible management at USC, UCLA, Arizona, and ASU who all should be top 15 programs every year with the amount of talent down there. Their facilities though are. garbage compared to most programs though.
  11. I do not agree with Waz's decision to leave Mercado for that long, the game was pretty out of reach, it didn't make sense to basically use him up for the next two games, I'm sure he could go an inning on Monday if we play, but it seems like it was unnecessary to leave him in for 60+ pitches, could have kept him at 40 and maybe gained an inning for Monday.
  12. Basically the difference between the SEC and everyone else. Aggies in trouble and they're able to bring in a guy throwing 99 with a wipeout slider, we don't have anyone even close to that sort of stuff.
  13. I doubt we will be able to win any shootouts, we'll have to win some pitcher's duels. We're not a bad hitting team, but we aren't exactly the most offensive. Going to need to have well executed small ball and be better in clutch situations compared to A&M.
  14. Yeah, I definitely think we'll be seeing some 9:00 games in the future, but I doubt any of them will be at home. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Michigan or Wiscy games at that time. It's just the nature of the beast being in the B10, in the end I think the biggest change will be a 9:00 or two on the road as opposed to 7:30 games on the road. I anticipate our home games to be about the same in regards to game times, maybe one more later kickoff than normal. I also think these things will begin to even out with more time in the league and if Oregon does as well as we think they will do.
  15. We might get a 1 or 2 night games but I highly doubt we will get more Friday games, I don't think the B1G will want that at all. I'm fine with this, I'm sure we're in store for one more night game at home, but to me this is just the trade off for getting into the B1G. Give it a couple years and some success and it will begin to get better.
  16. I'll be honest I'm disappointed we aren't more prominently in it, but overall, I seriously got goosebumps watching the trailer, it's been so long, it was also so weird to see the players names on the backs of the uniforms.
  17. Universities have tons of different clubs and teams that you don't know about. If you look up club sports at Oregon, we have a Wushu club, table tennis, sailing, mountain biking, and many others.
  18. Yeah, I more meant home games, away games are pretty easy I would think as long as you don't get into the power struggle when you need to put them to bed (then again I'm sure for some parents that's a constant struggle )
  19. I like a night game every once in a while, then again I don't have kids, so I understand why others hate them. I like a mix through the season, some 12:30 kicks, some 3:00, some 5:00, maybe one 7:00 at home. As long as we don't have more than one 9:00AM and two 7:30 kick times I'll be happy. I'm a huge Liverpool FC supporter, so early morning kickoffs are normal to me, if I can wake up for a 4:30 match against Norwich I can get up and be ready for a Oregon game against Michigan St. or Rutgers or whoever. Just don't make it a habit
  20. The game that makes me think about the challenges of moving to the B10 isn't actually Ohio St. or Michigan, it's Wisconsin. I can see Oregon beating either of those teams, getting up for those types of games, it's the game against a good Wisconsin squad, in Madison, late in the season, just before we play UW that makes me worried about the rigors of the B10 schedule that we now have. Are we going to be able to meet the challenge of going across the country for a third time, in bitter cold weather and pull out a victory against a program that will probably be chomping at the bit to beat us in our first matchup after the game in the Rose Bowl. I think we will, but those are the types of games that will be an extra challenge for us going forward I think.
  21. Personally I think the QB that has the best chance to be a bust is McCarthy, I really don't understand the hype around him, doesn't have an arm as good as others, played behind an O-line that was dominant, wasn't asked to do much other than not screw up, decent mobility, but not incredible. I would have him behind Williams, Daniels, Maye, Penix, and Nix. I do think you draft Williams because he has the biggest chance to be the next Maholmes, incredible ability to make plays out of nothing, can also read the field and go through progressions, showed that he could carry a team on his back.
  22. Good move for everyone involved. Things have been getting stale in Lexington over the last few years, Cal probably needed something new, Arkansas was struggling to bring in a big name, they whiffed on some others. Really like this for everyone.
  23. Ticonderoga is a brand of pencil that is widely used. There are few themed bats out there right now, it's becoming a thing. I think I've seen some that are shaped like the firecracker popsicle
  24. You could say it was innovative at the time I guess, but now a lot of courts are out there that are similar in their design, you are also right it isn't as bad in person, it's still ugly when compared to other courts that are either minimalist or a bit jazzy.
  25. You see this right here is what should not be allowed to happen, you made a choice now stick to it, in the NFL you can't sign on the dotted line during free agency and then call backsies after making the move.
