Charles Fischer Administrator No. 1 Share Posted October 26 We still are not believed....I think. This will continue through the rest of the season. The speed and skill of Oregon made the No. 20 team, one of the better teams out of an 18 team conference, look silly at times today. No, we are not sweet... 2 1 2 2 3 Mr. FishDuck

What is interesting is how Purdue drove up and down the field running the ball, but no points. Illinois got their only touchdown against the reserves. This is the sixth game in eight where the defense gave up 14 points or less! 1 1 Mr. FishDuck
30Duck No. 7 Share Posted October 27 (edited) Ryan Day blew up on the sideline over a call, so I don't think Neuheisel was right that Ohio State was just looking past Nebraska and will be fine next week at Penn State. If Nebraska had been competent in the red zone early, they'd have won. Somebody wrote that Oregon might have broken Ohio State, and I agree. DanLduck No. 9 Share Posted October 27 I know it's been commented on already, but coach Day sets a really bad example. I used to not like the Stoops family of coaches cuz they yelled at players and acted ridiculous on the sideline for every call they hated, but Day is pretty bad. I'm so glad our coach Lanning has better character. 1 1 1

The Stoop's family, Bobby Hurley, who thankfully we don't have to see anymore, set the standard. It's a new Day at Ohio State. Somehow, finding out that the Buckeyes aren't invincible has really messed theeOhio State up.
Jon Joseph Moderator No. 11 Share Posted October 27 Thank you, Sir Charles. Games start so late on the Right Coast I score alert disappear for the day. The reason I kind of like Friday night games. The Number 20 team in the USA? Not Purdue. Not UCLA. The Number 20 team in the US of A never had a chance. I could not help but think about what one of Dan's mentors', Kirby Smart said after Danno's Ist game. "Dan will be just fine. He knows we have better players than he has." The difference in athleticism between OBD and Illinois was apparent form the 1st series on. Simply not a fair fight, which is nice . Dan has assembled this talent not in the Southeast and the So-Cal recruiting happy hunting grounds but in the Northwest. REMARKABLE. Mash Michigan in the Large House! 2
Mike West No. 12 Share Posted October 27 Is anybody surprised? We all knew what would happen. We must not get cocky. After all, Ohio State dropped 31 on OBD, and was in position for three more. We went through this last year. Illinois and Indiana are not elite material. Days like today are supposed to happen. It was probably a good thing that Boise State scared us. When we hold Bama, Georgia, Texas and Ohio State to under 20 points, THEN we can be proud. 1

Dary Danielson went to Purdue. Brad Nessler is also a Midwest guy, a graduate on Mankato State U in Minnesota. I'd love to hear Danielson riff on this Ducks team vs the SEC teams he covered and slobbered over. 1

30Duck No. 15 Share Posted October 27 This is just some guy predicting the poll tomorrow, Ohio State remains at number four because it did win this game, but this was not the performance you want to see from this team coming off a loss and a bye week. Penn State awaits in Happy Valley next week. He's probably right, but Oregon dropped from 3 to 9, and they won both games.

30Duck No. 20 Share Posted October 27 Yes, I’m aware that Illinois got its doors blown off in Eugene on Saturday. However, going across the entire country to face the No. 1 team in the country is hardly a good spot for the Illini and, all told, it was far from as bad as the scoreboard would have you believe on Saturday. Yes, it was.

If you look at the five games they played prior to Oregon, OSU throttled every one of them by an average margin of 39 points. And after losing to Oregon, they had a bye week. You know they had to have wanted to make a turnaround statement yesterday --- at home, no less. Nope... and as I said earlier, I'm afraid OBD, and OBD fans, simply 'broke' poor ol OSU. The Kamikaze Kid Moderator No. 25 Share Posted October 27 I can't be the only one that thought it looked like they were playing a high school team. It seemed like it was always a Duck initiating contact. It seemed like it was always a Duck driving the other guy backwards. Our fifth string running back looked like he would start for Illinois. Tez mowed over a defender at the goal line and Noah looked like Earl Campbell out there. The D line looked like they were simply doing sled drills. All against a top twenty BIG team. Wow. 1 1

Urban Meyer, and others said that Ohio State's woeful non-conference schedule would come back to hurt them, and mothing has been truer. After sleepwalking, they found themselves having to play Oregon @ Autzen. After that L, and requisite whining, they had a week to do nothing but cry about it even more, then they play Nebraska, coming off a 56-7 beating by Indiana. Ohio State, with a lot of help from the Ref's escaped that one, but Penn State is next. Edited October 27 by 30Duck
